Genesis 25:29-34 Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. And Esau said to Jacob, 'Let me eat some of that red stew, for I am exhausted!” (Therefore his name was called Edom.) Jacob said, 'Sell me your birthright now.” Esau said, 'I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” Jacob said, 'Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose
*Can it Be? - MamaArcher's Blog Nov 13, 2009, 1:11 pm
Can it truly be that my little one is a year old today? It seems only yesterday that I was waddling around with her inside! She is a sweet, funny, smart, talking, walking toddler now! Where did this past year go? She is definitely an Alaskan baby too! Her very first word was “bear” and said with a growling tone! Makes me laugh every time I hear it! Happy Birthday Sweet Bella Boo! We love you! Related posts:Another TeenagerA Young ManMy Preemie is 17!
In the verbal actions of the psalms—rejoicing, asking for help, and expressing thanks (see 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)—we talk to someone else, in this case, God himself. It’s fair to say that having a “quiet time” is a misnomer. We should more properly have a “noisy time”! By talking out loud you live the reality that you are talking with another person, not simply talking to yourself inside your own head. Of course “silent prayers” are not wrong—1 S
J.I. Packer on the ESV Study Bible and how it helps to recover and revive the ministry of an adult catechist. Here is a snippet but the short article is well worth the read! The reason why I'm so enthusiastic about it is largely that it takes a wider view of its task than other study Bibles do. Other study Bibles provide you with information and that's it. The ESV Study Bible goes a step further. It's a study Bible which not only explains the texts and expounds them accurately, but it has in i

Ok, so I swiped this from another blog that I read. Thank you Nate over at Presbyterian Thoughts for typing it all up! It is a definitely something to Ponder. JG Vos, in the 1940s, asked the question, “What mistaken idea about guilt is common today? I believe that his answer is ju
Homeschooling brings many ups and downs.   There are the days that are full of joy because your children seem to really grasp the concepts you are teaching and then there are days when you wonder where the children have placed their brains!   The concepts that seemed so easily grasped the day before have overnight turned into what seems to be a foreign language.   There are days when the children seem to have forgotten things that we have been working on for years!   It is easy to get discourage

There are days when I just feel “off my game.”   Nothing seems to go as I planned.   There are days when I feel like a total failure and wonder if my family might be better off with someone who was better at (insert anything here) than I am.   Then I remind myself, “I am not perfect and I never will be, at least not before the Lord comes!”   This road of sanctification can seem so very long at times.   I want to be there already, who after all doesn’t want to do eve

It is important to remember that in his decree of election, God considers the mass of humankind in their fallen sinful condition.   He chooses to redeem some people from this condition and to leave the rest in that condition.   He intervenes in the lives of the elect, while he does not intervene in the lives of the reprobate.   One group receives mercy and the other receives justice.
