It's been so long! - Winterr's words May 24, 2009, 5:46 am
Hey anyone who still reads my never updated blog! It's been a year now since I had Grade and I finally have a little time to blog. I must admit that I have been facebooking a bit to keep in touch with my Australian friends and family, I send pictures and video's through there, it's so much easier than email.I have been living here in the USA now for just over 2 years and don't have the American accent. It's been great watching Grace grow into a toddler and Brianna is 13 years old! I can't believ
My blogging break - Winterr's words Nov 16, 2008, 11:54 pm
As you may have noticed, I have not been blogging since baby arrived! Being a mother to Grace has taken up a lot of my time. I do miss reading your blogs and receiving your comments on mine here, but for now I will continue with my break, until things get a little less hectic. I will be visiting your blogs from time to time and hopefully will find time for a post here and there. Have a lovely thanksgiving and Christmas season. Here are some pictures of my girls...feed

*little update - Winterr's words Apr 9, 2008, 1:11 am
Just a little update, yes I am still pregnant! My due date is the 17th of April, it's going by so quickly. I haven't been blogging obviously but I do try, but sitting near the computer for too long can really be uncomfortable at this "bigger" stage of my pregnancy.Spring is in the air, so I have been trying to get outside more, it's been so nice to open the windows and let real fresh air come into the house. I have seen just about all the snow I want to see for a while.I had a meaningful len
Remote Area Medical - Winterr's words Mar 3, 2008, 12:23 am
Did anybody see this on 60 minutes last night? It really makes you think about the health care system over here in the US. It's just plain sad that people in this country are not insured or under insured, and the costs are amazing. Here is some of the story:Recently, 60 Minutes heard about an American relief organization that airdrops doctors and medicine into the jungles of the Amazon. It's called Remote Area Medical, or "RAM" for short. As correspondent Scott Pelley reports, Remote Area Medica
*30 Weeks! - Winterr's words Feb 7, 2008, 2:04 am
Today I am 30 weeks into my pregnancy, I feel like I have been pregnant forever, but then again, time is going by so fast, I am in nooooo hurry either. I am sick of getting all these blood tests etc every time I visit my OB/GYN and wonder how necessary they all are. I know that some are very important to do but it just seems that there are so many. They test you for HIV and all these STD's when you first get there, and then they do it again later, I know that I don't have anything like
To all the Catholics out there who have already voted for the new presidential candidates...........you should have voted for Ron Paul! Here is something from Dr.Ron Paul's own website about life: The right of an innocent, unborn child to life is at the heart of the American ideals of liberty. My professional and legislative record demonstrates my strong commitment to this pro-life principle. In 40 years of medical practice, I never once considered performing an abortion, nor did I ever find abor
Someone sent me this video, and now that I am pregnant and don't have too long to go until my due date, I feel uncomfortable and am afraid of going to the hospital. I am glad though, that I did watch it.In this video it says that midwives are normally the ones attending to the person in labor. When I had my first daughter, I had one midwife, a doctor and 2 medical students all checking up on me and my daughter, and when I went to my OB/GYN I was with him for most of the appointment, I must admit

With all the attention on the very tragic shooting at the Westroads Mall in Omaha, why have the media failed to mention that this mall was a gun free zone?A shooter and criminal will ignore the gun free zone signs, while law abiding permit holders will leave their guns at home.Another mall shooting happened in February at the Trolley Square Mall in Utah, this mall too was a gun free zone, the attack was stopped by an off duty police officer who ignored the sign and thank goodness had a gun.I was
Jennifer Love Hewitt is not fat at all, she is healthy and radiant looking. Focusing on a size 2 womans butt is the wrong thing to do. I hope you all had a restful weekend. I loved putting all the clocks back an hour and actually seeing my daughter off for school in some daylight. I didn't feel like I slept in at all but it was just nice to have some daylight when starting the day.My in laws came into town for the weekend, it was great, we all ate out a lot so I have probably eaten too much. May angels lead you into Paradise; may the martyrs receive you at your coming and lead you to the holy city of Jerusalem. May a choir of angels receive you, along with Lazarus, who once was poor, may you have eternal rest.-In paradisum deducant te Angeli; in tuo adventu suscipiant te martyres, et p

Gun free zones - Winterr's words Jul 18, 2007, 3:23 am
Jonathan(who has a new blog URL) has posted a link to this video that I have embedded here. It's a way of showing how those gun free zone signs don't really stop criminals from bringing in fire arms anyway.I have been thinking about this and really, it's the good law abiding citizens who would leave their guns out of these zones. Today in my spam folder I received mail supposedly from myself. My public email is carmelb@gmail.com and someone copied it to look like it's me I suppose. The email asks you to send money and all that, so if you get it, IT"S NOT ME!! I don't want your money, ok? Don't you just love spammers? :/ Also, last night Jonathan and I went out for dinner to this fabulous restaurant, I didn't expect it to be so nice, the food was great, the views etc, and it's one of the best places I have eaten at so

We had some better weather a few days ago, so Jonathan and I went out hiking. Some of the parks around here are just gorgeous! We have been jogging out there too, it beats the indoors of the gym. Well here is a picture I took on our hike: There are some geese in that pic but you can't see them. Also for the first time ever I saw a ground hog! He or she was so cute, and I took some pictures, but you can barely see it. I also saw 2 groundhogs fighting after I threw some strawberries out fo

My Photo Mission - Winterr's words Mar 21, 2006, 3:44 pm
While Jonathan was at work today, I was on a mission, armed with so many clothes that I could barely move, even a thick beanie to keep my ears warm, I fronted the freezing weather. My mission was to take some pictures outdoors, although I did take some inside. I do have my photo blog but I want to post them on here too.I am not a great picture taker or anything as you can see but it was fun. I was looking for some little birdy to come by so I could photograph it, one did that but flew away once

One tree, not two! - Winterr's words Mar 3, 2006, 4:36 pm
Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part.Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.Love itself is what is left over whe

Ash Wednesday:"Remember man that thou art dust and unto dust thou shalt return."Lent is a very deep part of the Church year, it's a time of soul searching and of course repentance.Through Lent we imitate Jesus 40 days in the wilderness, and we use this time to prepare for Easter also.I look forward to this season and hope to grow spiritually, let us grow in our love of Jesus Crucified. Let us see Lent as a special opportunity to deepen our relationship with God and deepen our commitment as Chris

Ok, there is a photo of Terri Schiavo that has been published everywhere. And I even linked to it but have since deleted the post, I didnt verify the authenticity of it or anything, I just found it on some blogsites I read. I was quick to link to it thinking the world needed to see and was emotionally drawn into it. I was wrong and think it's invasion of privacy, if it's real. There you go
Michael Schiavo must feel pretty good right about now, unless something happens fast (very fast) he can wear his victory smile, along with his lawyer and Judge George Greer and Judge Whittemore. This is such a heart breaking way to die, Michaels brother tried to say that Terri feels no pain, so what does he know? They reall don't care, Michael does not care. He broke the vows of his marriage to Terri by commiting adultery, does that matter to anyone?I'm confused as to what matters in this system

*Michael Schiavo Outraged (109 hits)- Winterr's words Mar 21, 2005, 6:00 pm
Terri's husband Michael Schiavo is outraged by the President and lawmakers for intervening in the right-to-die battle. We know that he has fought with Terri's parents for years, since he wants her to be deprived of her nutrition and die, and her parents want her to live...of course, since she is not in a vegative state, as we can see for ourselves on the video footage. Michael is quoted by ABC's "Good morning America" as saying: "This is a day for Terri. But I'll tell you what. It's a

Does this man look well nourished to you? Michael Schiavo......while his wife bleeds and dies, Michael eats and drinks. It angers me that George Felos has the nerve to lie to the public and tell us that Terri is peaceful, you would have to be very nieve to believe that. The natural symptoms are bleeding, flaky skin and sunken eyes, look it up George
I was so glad to hear that there has been a change in Terri's situation. Here is the article I read Tom Delay, along with other members of congress, just held a press conference to announce they have reached agreement on a bill that will: (1) guarantee Terri Schiavo a Federal appeal and (2) restore nutrition and hydration to Terri throughout the process. I thank God it has come this far and she has another chance at her life. Keep praying for her. I can only imagine how her parents
