Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell and nine associates were charged on Tuesday with seven counts of murder involving babies. District Attorney Seth Williams was quoted by Reuters as suggesting that "hundreds of others likely died in the squalid clinic that Gosnell ran from 1979 to 2010".
"My comprehension of the English language can't adequately describe the barbaric nature of Dr. Gosnell," Williams said at a news conference.
Updated: the grand jury report contains shocking and graphic images of the victims. The image below appears on page 88 of the report. The baby, "Nancy", was killed when she was approximately 30 weeks old.

Operation Rescue sent the following to their email list:
Philadelphia, PA - Police in Pennsylvania have arrested and jailed abortionist Kermit Gosnell, his wife, and eight other suspects in an overnight raid after a grand jury handed down indictments that include eight counts of murder.
Gosnell killed Karnamaya Mongar, 41, on November 20, 2009, after she was overdosed on painkillers during an abortion in her 18th or 19th week of pregnancy. Mongar's brother, told reporters that Gosnell's abortion clinic was "dirty and bloody." Gosnell's medical license was suspended and his clinic closed.
A grand jury was convened to investigate. It has charged Gosnell with eight counts of murder for the death of Mongar and seven babies who were born alive during failed illegal late-term abortions then killed by Gosnell or his clinic workers. Some clinic workers have been charged with multiple counts of murder in the deaths of the infants.
When police raided Gosnell's home and took him into custody, they discovered $240,000 in cash. Gosnell is also the subject of a Federal grand jury that has yet to reach a conclusion of its investigation.
Operation Rescue had called on supporters earlier this month to contact the District Attorney and ask for criminal charges.
"We are thrilled at the diligence done by authorities in Pennsylvania who have worked to protect the public from this serial killer and bring Gosnell and his cohorts to justice," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.
"As shocking as this case is, it is in no way an anomaly. Shoddy and illegal practices characterize the abortion industry in America. There are more Gosnell's out there victimizing and murdering under the cover of secrecy. Operation Rescue is working hard to expose these people and encourage authorities to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law."
Operation Rescue is offering a $25,000 reward through its Abortion Whistleblower Program for information leading to the arrest and conviction of abortionists who are breaking the law. For more information on the Abortion Whistleblower Program, click here.
According to MyFoxPhilly (HT: JillStanek):
Dr. Kermit Gosnell and several of his alleged colleagues was arrested overnight.... Last April, the FBI and Drug enforcement agents raided Dr. Gosnell's 38th and Lancaster Clinic. Inside, they found jars packed with pieces of aborted fetuses and recliners used in a recovery area for women who had abortions.
Dr. Gosnell's medical license was been suspended because of the conditions at his clinic. He has also been targeted in multiple lawsuits, at least one charging that a woman died from a botched abortion.
Dr. Gosnell is named in nearly four dozen civil suits going back 20 years. Ten of those are malpractice suits, including one by the family of a young woman who died after a March 2000 abortion at Gosnell's office.
