In a stunning upset, Republican Scott Brown defeated Democrat Martha Coakley in Massachsetts' Senate Race (53-47%). YES! Earlier in the race, Coakley led by over fifteen points and was expected to be a shoe-in. In fact, exit polls were not even planned for what was considered a sure Democratic victory.
Having spoiled the Democratic super majority needed to pass Obamacare, Brown now fills the seat vacated by the passing of Sen. Edward Kennedy.

We wish Brown's victory had been about Obamacare's abortion provision. It wasn't. Massachusetts chose Brown to protect their pocket books, lower taxes and protect their families from the Senate's healthcare debacle. Fiscal responsibility is to be desired and a cornerstone of Brown's campaign was his promise to vote against Obama's healthcare plan.
Update: Democrats are scrambling to blame someone for conducting a poor campaign or not lending enough support. Perhaps it's inconceivable that it could be their bankrupt policies and heavy handed tactics that voters have rejected.
John Jakubczyk, ever the optimist, offers the following commentary:
Coakley is calling [Brown] "anti-choice." Well he may no be there yet, but if the left pushes hard enough, they may push him right into a pro-life position. Thanks John.We like true converts. Here is an opportunity to win one and establish lines of real communication.
The results of this election could be the beignning of something big.
