"Every time an election is held and pro-abortion candidates win, Planned Parenthood runs to the media to say the results show great support for its agenda. But the hierarchy of the abortion-committing group is silent now that voters in NJ and VA have soundly rejected the politics of death espoused by Planned Parenthood- endorsed candidates," said Douglas R. Scott, Jr., president of Life Decisions International.
"Many Planned Parenthood-endorsed candidates, including Creigh Deeds in VA, made unrestricted abortion the keystone of their campaigns," Scott said. "They saw the issue as the Achilles' Heel of pro-life candidates. But the people have seen through the ruse that Planned Parenthood and its legions have employed for decades."
Scott said he hopes this will serve as a lesson to other politicians. "Hang your hopes on promoting the pro-abortion agenda and you can expect it to get you nowhere - absolutely nowhere."
Scott said he is thrilled that every statewide race in VA was won by a pro-life candidate, and the top office in NJ was won by a candidate who does not embrace Planned Parenthood's extremist agenda.
"Pro-life candidates of the future need to stand tall and proud," Scott said. "After all, you are not the ones who have embraced killing and death as a 'solution' to social problems. It is those who believe killing and death are acceptable choices who should truly be ashamed. If the death of their children is the best 'solution' we can offer women who are facing an untimely pregnancy, we are a sad, sad society indeed. We can surely do better."
