BRYAN, TX, November 10, 2009/Christian Newswire --
"I am gratified that Planned Parenthood has failed in its misguided effort to silence its former clinic director in Bryan/College Station, Texas, who experienced a spiritual conversion after witnessing an abortion and is now pro-life," said David Bereit, national director of 40 Days for Life.
A district court judge denied a request for an injunction against Abby Johnson, who resigned as director of a Planned Parenthood of Houston and Southeast Texas abortion facility in Bryan/College Station last month. The judge also denied a similar request directed at the Coalition for Life, the local pro-life organization that started the 40 Days for Life campaign in Bryan/College Station five years ago.
According to news reports, Judge J.D. Langley said Planned Parenthood did not offer convincing reasons "to warrant the extreme remedy of injunctive relief." Planned Parenthood had initiated the court action to block disclosure of confidential information about patients, which is something Johnson said she had never intended to do.
Johnson was very pleased with the court's decision, which opens the door for her to offer more specifics about her work at Planned Parenthood and the reasons she resigned. After watching an abortion procedure on an ultrasound machine, she had a change of heart about abortion and was unable to continue working at the clinic.
Since her departure from Planned Parenthood, Johnson's story has received major media attention at a time when abortion has become the central issue in the national debate over healthcare reform. "The truth about abortion that Abby witnessed on an ultrasound machine at Planned Parenthood underscores the fact that abortion is not health care, and it should not be funded in any way by the government," said Bereit.
Johnson was mentioned by name during Saturday's U.S. House debate over an amendment that was designed to limit taxpayer funding of abortions. In remarks on the House floor, Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) said, "Self-described as 'extremely pro-choice,' but now pro-life, Abby Johnson said she watched an unborn child 'crumple' before her very eyes as the infant was vacuumed and dismembered by a suction device 20-30 times more powerful than a household vacuum cleaner. 'I could see the baby try to move away ... I just thought what am I doing ... never again.'"
Since her resignation from Planned Parenthood, Johnson has spoken on behalf of 40 Days for Life and has even joined the 40 Days for Life volunteers outside her former place of employment to pray for an end to abortion.

After looking into present abortion procedures I realized that to be prochoice
means being pro-torture-the-baby-to-death.
These operations are one horrible atrocity after another. Difficult to believe they are done by the millions in a so-called civilized society and a supposedly compassionate medical profession.
According to most experts, the developing baby can feel pain early in
gestation This can be seen in the video "The Silent Scream" produced by
Dr. Bernard Nathanson, a former abortionist. (Google Videos). At 12 weeks, it shows the baby struggling and trying to scream
as he/she is torn to pieces by the powerful suction tube. The abortionist who
performed it, quit after seeing what he had done.
In surgical abortions, the mother usually gets mild sedation and either local anesthesia into the cervix or regional anesthesia in the spinal nerves. The baby gets none. Nor does the baby mercifully get presugical euthanasia in mostcases
In D&E and D&X, performed in later term, there is usually no
pain prevention for the baby. In D&E, the baby is cut or torn to pieces and the skull crushed to ease extraction. In D&X, the legs and body are delivered and scissors thrust into the skull to destroy the brain, the skull is suctioned
out and collapsed to pass easily.
Less used today in the US, saline abortion is the most excruciating of all.
The amnionic fluid that surrounds the baby is sucked out and replaced by
concentrated salt solution which corrodes away the skin and intestinal lining,
causing a slow and painful death, one hour to many hours; sometimes delivered alive. Called " Candy Apple Babies" by the nurses due to the abscence of skin.
We need laws to stop these inhuman practices. We have laws controlling
humane slaughter of animals. We need humane slaughter laws for our smallest humans.
A special thanks to Abby Johnson, the ex-director of the Bryan Texas Planned Parenthood office on 29th Street:
Abby Johnson now encourages thinking and loving individuals to place a special value on others who are (also humans made in the image of God) and in the same stage of development that "They were"!
The thoughts that dance in the mind of humans, is conceived in their heart and hinges on the pivotal question that ushers in the undeserved "Death penalty" for the unborn; or the joyous excitement, anticipating the soon coming birth of a child.
The question that answers the complex motive for a person's actions after conception is "Is the pregnancy and baby wanted or rejected by one or both parents (or families) of the child"?!!!
And if most women-with-child was loved by the child's father,
she would smile and happily say "No abortion" why bother.
Ask God and the person you mated with to forgive you,
forgive yourself and live the abundant life.
Sincerely ProBaby,
Arthur Trafford
