President Barack Abortion - metaphorically speaking -- is increasingly becoming the angry pimp hand that is smacking the disoriented ho of our economy by pushing his massive anti-life government healthcare rationing scheme on the American public.

Things are getting serious. Earlier this week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid unveiled a health care bill which provides for an unprecedented expansion of federally-funded abortion. In the new Senate bill, the abortion language revealed on pages 116 through 124 that the bill will:

  • Require a plan that covers abortion in every insurance market.
  • Allow the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services to require coverage of any and all abortions through the public option.
  • Create new tax-funded subsidies to purchase private health plans that will cover abortion.

I've said it a trillion times, but it does need repeating: The majority of Americans believe that health care plans should not be mandated to provide coverage for ignorant women who elect to have their child mutilated and dissected and left swishing in the fluids of other unlucky kids whose mommies were also pro-choice.

Normal people who oppose the senseless slaying of multitudes of children feel that it is a duty to voice opposition to tax hikes, anti-life government mandates, and redistributive taxpayer-funded public options. As a result, countless Americans have been demanding that Congress actually allow the free market to work, and put socialist Obamacare in the dumpster where it belongs. (I can just hear the collective gasp from Planned Parenthood now. "You can't put Obamacare in the dumpster! That's where we put our second trimester babies!")

Speaking of civilian demands on the President, check out this juicy bit of news! I'm sure you all are aware of Obama's self-congratulatory bragging on how his stimulus bill has been "creating thousands of jobs" across the nation. Well, some pesky group of Americans called "We the People" have had the audacity to demand facts from the Obama Administration concerning what, when and exactly where these created jobs are.

Which brings us to Recovery.gov, an official government White House website (that apparently costs $84 million of tax-payers money to run) that has been posted to the public. This website lists a crap-load of jobs created in a butt-load of congressional districts to "prove" that Obama is being responsible with our money. The only problem is that a lot of the jobs - and a lot of the $787 billion that is going into helping to create those jobs - are going to Congressional Districts that don't even exist!

This means only one of two things. Either Obama lackeys can't count, or they are just dirty rotten liars.

Think about it. We are paying close to a billion dollars for some shmucks in Obama's harem to randomly tap out imaginary numbers to justify blowing our cash on who knows what. I have some theories as to why the Obamabots fudged up so horribly on this one, one of which is that since most Obama supporters can't read, they just assumed no one else would trouble themselves by actually looking at the website.

The other theory is that the Obama Administration is just filled to overflowing with liars who have no qualms inventing hundreds of phantom Congressional Districts that are magically popping up all across the nation. In all probability, it's most likely a combination of the two. After all, stupidity and deception often go hand in hand.

New UNFPA Report Goes Green to Promote "Reproductive Rights"

by Piero A. Tozzi, J. D.

NEW YORK - C-FAM - The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) released its annual State of the World Population Report yesterday, linking efforts to promote "sustainable development" and affect "climate change" to its "reproductive rights" agenda. Critics see the report as a thinly-veiled attempt to harness popular environmental concerns in service of population control.

The report, "Facing a Changing World: Women, Population and Climate," asserts that achieving "universal access to reproductive health" would both contribute to declines in fertility and "help reduce green-house gas emissions in the long run." It calls upon nations to "fully fund family planning services and contraceptive supplies."

Sounding alarmist, UNFPA claims that "The harsh realities of high per capita emissions among industrialized countries and swiftly rising ones among developing countries highlight the urgency of mobilizing all of humanity to stop collectively at the brink of this possible climate disaster zone." ...

My Reflections on 40 Days for Life

This Fall was the first 40 Days for Life campaign that I have participated in. I remember standing there on the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood and maybe for the first time realizing the reality of abortion.

I have always considered myself pro-life but I am not sure I ever took the time to really think about what happened to the babies and their moms and dads who would ultimately be affected by abortion. It is easy to ignore these realities when you don't have to be there watching women walk in with babies that are alive and know that just yards from where you stand that baby is being very brutally attacked and killed. It was not long ago that I learned about the various abortion procedures, all of which are torturous and painful for the baby (something I pray the mom's will be told because it would help them make a more informed decision).

We all know that spiritual battles happen, but I don't think that is ever more apparent that at an abortion facility. I witnessed a mother who followed her daughter to the clinic begging her not to have the abortion. She knew that her daughter would regret the decision and was trying to spare her that pain. Unfortunately she had to stand by as her grandchild was killed.

The hardest day I faced outside Planned Parenthood was what we call "red barrel" day. A truck pulled up and unloaded some empty red barrels. Already knowing the answer with a sinking feeling in my stomach, I asked another sidewalk counselor what that was. As the full red barrels came out I got my answer. They were full of dead baby parts. Never before had I thought about what happens to the babies after the abortion. Do we really live in a world where babies are killed and their little arms and legs and bodies are carelessly thrown away like trash? I wonder how can we as people with the capacity, resources, and means to care for these children watch as millions of our brothers and sisters die. There are days I wonder if I can hold it together at all. Then I look at my one-year-old son and the pure love and joy that he brings and I ache and long for these moms and dads because they will never know that from the child that just lost it's life.

We have had a rock and water bottles thrown at us, we have been cursed at, received some not so nice hand gestures, and been honked at. Despite all this there have been so many times that I have witnessed acts of God's mercy and grace (by they way we do receive friendly waves, thumbs up, and kind words too). We had 4 babies saved during the campaign and we also had about 32 women go to Crisis Pregnancy Centers instead of the abortion clinic so who knows how many more babies were saved by their moms. As we know just seeing one baby saved or even one person's heart changed about abortion is worth it. I witnessed a homeless man walking by and he asked what we were doing. He was so sad that the clinic was an abortion facility that he decided to stand out there and pray with us. On another occasion, it had started to turn cold and our veteran sidewalk counselor was wearing sandals. Another homeless man we have gotten to know was on his usual walk by us and pulled a warm clean pair of sock out of the only bag he owned and gave them to the counselor. What an example of God's love!

When I wake up in the morning the last thing I want to do is go somewhere that is mentally and emotionally wrenching and where I will be hated by some, but I would never trade the spiritual growth I have experienced. Never before have I had to so completely depend on and put my trust in God. I had to believe that He would protect me, I had to believe that He would provide the words to speak to the men and women walking in, I had to believe that the babies would instantly be in His kingdom surrounded by the love they never received here on earth, I had to believe that "all things work together for good to those who love God", I had to believe that all His promises are true. Most of all, as life hangs in the balance for thousands of babies, I know I will never regret standing at what could be the darkest place on earth with God's faithful servants as we, like Isaiah, say "Here am I Lord, send me." - Jamie

ACTION MUST BE TAKEN NOW TO OPPOSE ABORTION COVERAGE IN THE SENATE VERSION OF THE HEALTH CARE REFORM BILL

CALL YOUR SENATORS AND THEN CALL A FEW MORE--NOT IN YOUR STATE!

The Harry Reid version of Health Care Reform DOES NOT include the Stupak amendment or any similar amendment that would at least prevent elective abortions from being covered in universal health insurance policies. THUS--the senate version--for this reason alone-- MUST be opposed. Your voice needs to be heard. The senate switchboard number is below as well as a link that will give you all contact info for all US senators:

Call 202-224-3121 to reach your Senators.

Or find their phone numbers at:

Senator Harry Reid's version of the senate bill on universal health care coverage would lead to the biggest expansion of abortion in 30 years.

Tell your Senator to vigorously oppose Reidcare.

Here are a few of its problems:

-- A public option authorized to use taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions

-- Taxpayer dollars are poured into health plans that cover elective abortions

-- No protections for insurance firms not wanting to cover abortions

Before the legislation can be debated in the Senate, Harry Reid must marshal 60 votes to oppose a filibuster against the motion to proceed.

Tell your Senator to vote against the motion to proceed.

The bill is the most vulnerable at this early stage of the legislative process.

A recent CNN poll found that 61% of Americans strongly oppose allowing their tax dollars to fund abortions while only 37% supported it.

WASHINGTON, November 20, 2009/Christian Newswire --

At a reception, held by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation as part of a series of events revolving around the 25th anniversary of Jackson's run for president, Jesse Jackson stated: "We even have blacks voting against the healthcare bill," He said. "You can't vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man."

What a dumb thing to say. I don't pretend to know the reasons why Rep. Arthur Davis, (D-AL) voted against the health care bill earlier this month and I'm not implying that he is pro-life, but at least he's not drinking the same flavor kool-aid as Mr. Jackson.

All Americans should question the health care monster!

The sad thing is that Jesse Jackson is a man that I once looked up to--way back when he was a power house for human rights, especially the right to life for unborn children.

Jesse once identified himself as a person who would have been aborted if medical counsel had been followed. Jesse Jackson once wrote: "Human life begins when the sperm and egg join . . . and the pulsation of life takes place." He said, "From that point, life may be described differently (as an egg, embryo, fetus, baby, child, teen-ager, adult), but the essence is the same.''

I remember way back--when he spoke at the 1977 March for Life asking the question: ''What happens to the moral fabric of a nation that accepts the aborting of the life of a baby without a pang of conscience.''

Back in the day, in an ''Open Letter to Congress'' Jesse Jackson stated "as a matter of conscience" he must "oppose the use of federal funds for a policy of killing infants."

Wow! Where is that guy?

I believe the Jesse Jackson--the civil rights leader from way back--would be leading the pack today against the funding of abortion as health care.

Black children are specifically targeted by the abortion industry which places most of its abortion killing centers in minority and urban neighborhoods. They are denied their civil rights including the most basic right to life; a right which Martin Luther King, Jesse Jackson, our ancestors and others so proudly worked for, marched for and many of them died for.

Sadly, today, Jesse Jackson is just a mere shadow of the man he once was. He is no longer a power house- -instead he is a bought off, shriveled, and empty shell.

I remember a much younger, and wiser "Reverend" Jesse Jackson leading the thunder of children's voices shouting..."I AM SOMEBODY!" And Mr. Jackson, though you have lost your way, I pray that one day you will remember that each and every unborn child is somebody, too!

WASHINGTON, November 18, 2009/Christian Newswire --

The following statement was issued by the National Right to Life Committee, the federation of right-to-life organizations in all 50 states, and may be attributed to NRLC Legislative Director Douglas Johnson:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nv.) has rejected the bipartisan Stupak-Pitts Amendment and has substituted completely unacceptable language that would result in coverage of abortion on demand in two big new federal government programs.

Reid seeks to cover elective abortions in two big new federal health programs, but tries to conceal that unpopular reality with layers of contrived definitions and hollow bookkeeping requirements.

Rep. Lois Capps (D-Ca.), who has a 100% pro- abortion voting record, said in a press release following release of the Reid language: "It appears that their approach closely mirrors my language which was originally included in the House bill." The Capps language referred to was opposed by NRLC and other pro-life organizations and was deleted by the House by a vote of 240-194 on November 7, as 64 Democrats (one fourth of all House Democrats), along with 176 Republicans, voted to replace it with the Stupak-Pitts Amendment.

The Stupak-Pitts Amendment would prevent federal subsidies for abortion by applying the principles of longstanding federal laws such as the Hyde Amendment to the new programs created by the health care legislation. Those principles prohibit both direct funding of abortion procedures, and subsidies for plans that cover elective abortions, in existing federal programs such as Medicaid, the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, and the military. Regrettably but predictably, Reid rejected the bipartisan Stupak-Pitts language. Instead, Reid has sought to please the militant minority that demands funding of abortion through federal programs, even though substantial majorities of Americans believe that abortion should be excluded from government- funded and government-sponsored health programs.

The Reid bill establishes a big new federal health insurance program, the public option (although now referred to in Reid's bill as the "community health insurance option"). The bill authorizes (on page 118) the federal Secretary of Health and Human Services to require coverage of any and all abortions throughout the public option program. This would be federal government funding of abortion, no matter how hard they try to disguise it.

In addition, the bill creates new tax-supported subsidies to purchase private health plans that will cover abortion on demand.

National Right to Life will continue to fight for the Stupak-Pitts Amendment, and to oppose the stubborn attempts of congressional Democratic leaders to establish new federal government programs that will fund coverage of elective abortions.

For extensive further documentation on the Stupak- Pitts Amendment and other aspects of the issue, visit the NRLC website at www.nrlc.org/ahc.

FLINT, MI, November 18, 2009/Christian Newswire --

A recently filed lawsuit against troubled abortionist Abraham Alberto Hodari alleging a horrific forced abortion may explain his recent efforts to sell off his abortion clinics.

On June 17, 2009, Caitlin Bruce filed a suit against Hodari and his assistant, "Victor", over an incident that took place at Hodari's Flint, MI, abortion clinic in April 2008. In that suit, Ms. Bruce alleges that she went to Hodari's clinic seeking an abortion, but before the procedure began, she changed her mind and decided against it. She notified Hodari that she no longer wanted the abortion.

However, Hodari and his assistant, Victor, forcibly restrained Ms. Bruce, holding her down. Ms. Bruce screamed "Stop, stop, I don't want this," but her mouth was covered to muffle her pleas while Hodari forced the abortion upon her.

Included in the suit are 6 counts against Hodari, including lack of informed consent/medical malpractice, battery, fraud, misrepresentation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and ethnic/gender intimidation.

Michigan has a statute that forbids intimidation based on gender or ethnicity. Ms. Bruce believes that Hodari forced the abortion on her because she is Black. Statistics show that the abortion industry disproportionately targets Black women.

"This man should be in jail," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "To avoid having to pay for his crimes, it looks like Hodari is trying to liquidate his assets, take the money, and run."

This is not the first incident of forced abortion for which Hodari has been accused. In February, former Hodari patient Jennifer McCoy came forward and told Operation Rescue of her 1988 abortion at age 16. McCoy never intended to get an abortion and was lured to Hodari's clinic under the false pretenses that she would be receiving her first obstetrical examination. Instead, Hodari forced an abortion on her. He then returned her to a 40-year old high school teacher who had fathered the baby in a relationship that qualified as statutory rape. McCoy attempted unsuccessfully to have Hodari criminally charged. (Read full story.)

"Over a twenty year period, we can only imagine how many times Hodari has done this to women. If we know of two, you can bet there were more that we don't know about," said Newman. "It is one depraved man that could do that to women."

Hodari was placed on probation in February for illegally dumping medical records. In March, he was fined a mere $10,000 for his part in the death of Regina Johnson. Hodari has been involved in at least three additional abortion deaths.

"Over the years, Michigan authorities have continually covered for Hodari's criminal actions. They bear some responsibility for the abuse suffered by women because they know Hodari is a menace, but have done nothing to stop him," said Newman.

From there, Operation Rescue launches its innovative new strategies across the nation, exposing and closing abortion clinics through peaceful, legal means. Its activities are on the cutting edge of the abortion issue, taking direct action to stop abortion and ultimately restore legal personhood to the pre- born in obedience to biblical mandates.

SarahPalin_GoingRogue.jpgImagine.... "11 AP reporters dedicating time and resources to tearing up Sarah Palin's new book, instead of using the time and resources to 'fact check' what's going on with Sheik Mohammed's trial, Pelosi's health care takeover costs, Hasan's associations, etc. Amazing."

Is this an obsession?

Meanwhile ARTL questions whether or not Sarah Palin is even pro-life.

Palin doesn't seem to have a problem getting free publicity.

Baxter teams up with Northwestern:

A treatment that uses adult stem cells to rebuild failing hearts reduced chest pain and improved activity levels for severely ill patients one year after injection, a Northwestern University researcher working with a Chicago-area device-maker reported.

Though still in early development stages, the work of Dr. Douglas Losordo, using technology developed by Baxter International Inc., is being watched closely by the stem cell research community. The trial data, presented Tuesday at the American Heart Association scientific conference in Orlando, Fla., is also important in the study of heart disease.

No, they don't need taxpayers to fund speculative research because the use of adult stem cells has time and again yielded beneficial therapies. To be blunt, this research is viable, is likely to benefit people and carries a real financial incentive.

[Note that the use of adult stem cells does not involve the destruction of a human life.]

For 6 weeks, and behind closed doors, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Democrats have been crafting their own version of a socialized health-care bill.

With the House's passage of its bill, Reid is ready to pull the trigger, now only awaiting a cost estimate from the Congressional Budget Office on two new tax increases his side has proposed to help contain their behemoth.

The CBO report could come at any moment, perhaps before this column is published.

After getting the CBO report, Reid will file cloture (i.e., closure on debate) on a motion to proceed on a "shell," or empty health-care bill.

Right. There will still be no language to see. Reid will introduce a shell bill simply to get the parliamentary wheels in motion.

According to Senate rules, the cloture vote Reid wants can come no sooner than 30 hours after he has introduced his shell bill, as early as Friday. Sixty votes will be required.

This is the first and very important choke point to stop the Senate's health-care bill from proceeding....

Wesley Smith notes that the UK has added insect sensitivity training to their educational curriculum. aka, stamping on an insect is immoral. He concludes,

But given that the UK is showing increasing disrespect for the intrinsic value of human beings, the curriculum seems to me-to say the least-profoundly ironic.
Isn't that an understatement?

A group of leading lawyers, peers and former judges including Baroness Butler-Sloss, the former head of the family division of the High Court, are warning that the plans pose "serious dangers for public safety".

In a significant intervention, they are warning the proposed changes go against the will of Parliament and risk reducing the Director of Public Prosecutions from an enforcer of the law, to an arbitrator.

Baroness Butler-Sloss, Lord Mackay of Clashfern, a former Lord Chancellor, and Lord Carlile of Berriew, the Government's terrorism legislation adviser, are among those have come together in an unprecdented coalition to express concern about the impact of the changes proposed by Keir Starmer, the DPP.

Family Research Council/November 16, 2009 --

Health care may be on Sen. Harry Reid's (D-Nev.) Thanksgiving menu, but it could be awhile before the Senate talks turkey. The Majority Leader started the Rule 14 process last week, which basically means the House bill would be available on the legislative calendar by tomorrow. Of course, just because it's on the Senate calendar doesn't mean the chamber will do anything with it. In order to start considering the bill, Sen. Reid would need 60 votes on his motion to proceed. With shaky support from his own party, that prospect seems highly unlikely. If any of the 58 Democrats and two Independents vote against the motion, the bill would stall.

In case you're wondering why the Senate is considering the House bill instead of its own version, H.R. 3962 is just a placeholder. Because tax bills can't originate in the Senate, Sen. Reid is using the House legislation as a shell. Eventually, that shell will be replaced by the Senate health care bill, which is still under construction in closed door meetings of the Senate leadership.

One of the biggest questions on everyone's mind is whether the Stupak-Pitts amendment will survive the secret negotiations. Yesterday, Senate Budget Chairman Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) was blunt about the bill's chances without it. "What is clear is that for this bill to be successful, there can be no taxpayer funding for abortion," he said. And he's right. The Stupak amendment was the only popular thing about H.R. 3962. PelosiCare passed by a measly five votes, while the amendment to strip abortion funding won by a landslide (46 votes)! That fact seems to be completely lost on the President, who can't backpedal fast enough on his promise that "no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions."

Yesterday, White House Senior Advisor David Axelrod hinted that the President will do everything he can to strip the ban from the final bill, claiming that "the amendment changes the 'status quo,' something the President cannot abide." What changes the status quo is government-run health care. The Stupak amendment just adds the current restrictions to it. Planned Parenthood is already predicting an end to the amendment at the hands of the President, who President Cecile Richards calls her "strongest weapon." Meanwhile, her allies still insist on spinning the debate not as a denial of federal funding for abortion, but as a denial of the "right" to abortion--which is absurd. Under the Stupak amendment, women can get as many elective abortions as they want. But taxpayers have no more obligations to pay for that elective procedure than they do for a woman's elective plastic surgery.

Tell that to a group called Blue America. For every person who signs a petition to block the Stupak amendment, its leaders are sending coat hangers to 20 of the House Democrats who voted for it. "We're telling [them] ... [not to] take us back to an era of coat hangers and back alley abortions." Somebody ought to point out to them that this campaign is just exposing the lie of the pro-abortion movement. Why would they want to put something back in the bill that they said was never there?

Officials at Bridgeton High School stopped a pro-life student from expressing a religious viewpoint on the 6th annual Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity. The student was prohibited from participating in the Stand True Ministries-sponsored event by distributing pro-life literature during non-instructional times and wearing a red arm band with the word "LIFE" written on it. School officials told the student that nothing "religious" is allowed in public schools.

Not to worry, Attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund are on the case.

November 16, 2009

Abortion supporters spent an inordinate amount of time claiming public funding of abortion wasn't included in any of the healthcare bills before House pro-lifers added an amendment specifying there would be no public funding in its healthcare bill.

Now pro-aborts claim that not forcing taxpayers to fund abortions is equivalent to a ban. I'm not going to post their despicable ad but you can see it here.  And, their employing the illegal back-alley abortion myth to motivate their <strike>lie</strike> cause.

Meanwhile, President Obama is following hook, line and sinker by vowing to remove the "controversial" pro-life Amendment:

White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod suggested Sunday that President Obama will intervene to make sure a controversial amendment restricting federal funding for abortion coverage is stripped from final health care reform legislation.

In doing so, the president would be heeding the call of abortion rights supporters like Planned Parenthood that have called the White House their "strongest weapon" in keeping such restrictions out of the bill.

FRCBlog has more.

Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood clinic, had a change of heart after witnessing the abortion of a 13-week baby via ultrasound. She began volunteering at the Coalition for Life center a few doors away and PP filed a restraining order to silence her. Although a judge through out the case last week it appears her Episcopalians church is giving her the cold shoulder.... how sad.

DENVER, November 16, 2009/Christian Newswire --

A political 527 group, which claims responsibility for derailing Mitt Romney's presidential hopes in 2008 in the early-contest states of IA and SC, is now targeting Sarah Palin. But for what?

ProlifeProfiles.com, created by a nationwide research team working for American Right To Life, is being launched today highlighting Sarah Palin's "surprisingly extensive and unflattering record on abortion."

As Palin's "Going Rogue" is being published, Darrell Birkey, research director for American RTL Action, said that if rogue, "still means misleading and unreliable, then we should add Palin's entire book to her dossier at ProlifeProfiles.com."

In 2007 the nation's oldest "RTL" group, Colorado Right To Life, then a state affiliate of National RTL, issued a press release: "Rift Opens in Christian Right." Two and a half years later, that rift has become a chasm. Thirty-three states have followed Colorado's lead from last year and against the wishes of the old-guard pro-life industry are pursuing "Personhood" amendments and legislation, most working with Denver-based Personhood USA.

"When Romney exited the race," said Lolita Hanks, nurse practitioner and spokeswoman for American RTL, "we announced, 'No longer will National RTL be able to give fraudulent 100% pro-life ratings to Republican pro-choice candidates without being exposed nationally.'"

Opening that rift to the right, a coalition of pro-life organizations including Colorado RTL, Human Life International, Operation Rescue National / OSA, American Life League, and the founders of American RTL, published full-page newspaper ads addressed to Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family requesting help to restore truth and integrity to the pro- life movement. Pro-lifers can find reports on Dr. Dobson, Mitt Romney, Alan Keyes, George W. Bush, and many other leaders at ProlifeProfiles.com.

"Sarah Palin has presidential ambition, but she'll have to get serious about protecting the innocent," said Birkey, "because this time around, there's a personhood movement that will expose the pro- abortion record of pretend pro-life candidates."

1. Pro-life groups should oppose the whole health care bill, because abortion will be in there no matter what. Abortion is extremely important to Obama. Remember his views on the Freedom of Choice Act and the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. The positive side of fighting against taxpayer-funded abortion is that it brought the subject to the forefront across America.

2. I've heard commentators from every perspective say that the Blue Dog Democrats should be very worried about their support of the health care bill. I believe almost anyone who is up for re-election next year in either the House or Senate should be very concerned about losing their job if they vote for this.

3. By deciding to try the terrorists in a New York civilian court, once again it is obvious that Obama believes in giving more rights to terrorists than innocent unborn babies.

Bellevue, NE, November 13, 2009/Operation Rescue --

The police department in Bellevue, Nebraska have announced that the city now pays nearly $1,000 to maintain security cameras at LeRoy Carhart's abortion clinic - money that is taken directly from the taxpayer coffers to spy on peaceful pro-life supporters.

"It is outrageous, at a time when Congress is in an uproar fighting abortion lobby efforts to use tax money to bail out failing abortion clinics, that the City of Bellevue would arbitrarily decide to force taxpayers to subsidize Carhart's abortion business," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "If Carhart wants extra security, he should have to pay for it himself, just like everybody else."

Bellevue police Chief John W. Stacey attempted to justify the $970 per month tax-funded camera system by saying it was "handy."

"This is yet another example of the gross lack of judgment shown by the City of Bellevue, which continues to cater to Carhart's whims," said Newman.

In August, Bellevue police overreacted to a visit by Operation Rescue by putting up snow fences, blocking off streets, marching out the SWAT teams, and making wild and unsubstantiated claims in the media about anticipated violence.

"We tried to tell them that we only expected 20-50 peaceful supporters praying quietly on the sidewalk, but they were bent on making a tempest in a teapot. They blew everything out of proportion and in doing so, unnecessarily wasted thousands of dollars of taxpayer money. Now they are doing it again," said Newman.

Carhart is currently under investigation by the Nebraska Attorney General's office for illegal conduct alleged when former Carhart employees came forward and said that workers with no medical background routinely assisted with surgeries, started IVs, and dispensed medication without the proper credentials. The women told of unclean conditions at the clinic and that Carhart rarely if ever washed his hands between patients. They also indicated that drugs were often missing and believed that Carhart was, at times, chemically impaired while on duty.

"It might be a better use to tax dollars to have the spy-cams inside the abortion mill. They are more likely to catch someone breaking the law inside the clinic than outside it," said Newman.

"We encourage those who are outraged that taxpayers are subsidizing spy-cams at Carhart's abortion business to contact the Bellevue police and let their concerns be known."

Detroit, MI, November 13, 2009/Operation Rescue --

Yesterday, troubled abortionist Alberto Hodari filed for divorce from his wife, Nancy.

It was also learned that Hodari's "going out of business" sale continues, with his Livonia abortion clinic now up for sale, along with his clinics in Southgate and Flint. It is believed that every commercial property Hodari owns is on the market, along with his collection of expensive classic cars.

The Hodari's have had a troubled marriage. Nancy filed for divorce in 2006, but dropped her effort to dissolve their marriage a few months later. Nancy identifies herself as an attorney, business owner, and fitness instructor. The Hodari's shared a sprawling mansion in an exclusive Bloomfield Hills, MI, neighborhood.

It is thought that Hodari may be liquidating his assets so that he can flee the country to avoid mounting legal problems.

Planned Parenthood and the ACLU have filed a lawsuit against the sponsors of a Nevada ballot initiative defining the term "person."

The simple, one-sentence amendment states, "In the great state of Nevada, the term 'person' applies to every human being."

Blogger Emmily Bristol, the woman participating in the lawsuit, seems to admit on her blog that the measure is easy to understand. She claims, "It is designed to leave voters scratching their heads and saying, 'Well, duh, a person is a person.' "

"Exactly," answered Keith Mason of Personhood USA. "It's simple, easy to understand, and if even the folks behind the lawsuit can see that it's that simple, the voters shouldn't have any trouble. Every human being is a person. Period."

"Children in the womb today have fewer rights than dogs or cats," continued Mason. "Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, and Emmily Bristol are seeking to keep it that way."

Nevada's personhood amendment was filed on October 21, 2009. An amendment much like this one was introduced in Colorado and was found to be a single-subject issue. In 2007, Planned Parenthood and the ACLU teamed up to try to defeat the Colorado Personhood Amendment, but failed even up to the Colorado Supreme Court.

"This is clearly a single subject issue, easy to understand, and simply recognizes the rights of every human being," stated Keith Mason. "Planned Parenthood's lawsuit is not only stifling the people's right to a ballot initiative, but it appears desperate. Once personhood is properly recognized, Planned Parenthood stands to lose over a billion dollars in annual profit."

"This is now the third time that the ACLU and Planned Parenthood have ganged up to silence the voice of the people, and their right to ballot initiatives," concluded Mason. "In Colorado, they failed. They are trying to silence us, and to keep the vote away from the people. The citizens have a right to ballot initiatives, and human beings have a right to live."

Personhood USA is a grassroots Christian organization founded to establish personhood efforts across America to create protection for every child by love and by law. Personhood USA is committed to assisting and supporting Personhood Legislation and Constitutional Amendments and building local pro-life organizations through raising awareness of the personhood of the pre-born.

NEW YORK, November 12, 2009/Christian Newswire --

A New York television news station has released a shocking expose in its "Shame, Shame Shame" segment on abortionist Pierre Renelique, whose Florida medical license was revoked for his part in a botched late-term abortion that resulted in a live birth and for falsifying medical records to hide the fact that the baby was born alive then intentionally killed.

The news reporter, Arnold Diaz, discovered that Renelique had moved to New York and is working at the Clinton Place Medical Center in the Bronx. A receptionist at that clinic insists that Renelique is not doing abortions there.

The Florida Medical Board forwarded their revocation order to the New York authorities for similar disciplinary action, but instead the board placed Renelique on supervised probation for two years.

Diaz is shown in the report jogging behind Renelique as the abortionist denies that he ever did anything wrong even though the reporter had the Florida disciplinary documents in hand.

At one point he turned and attacked Diaz, grabbing the microphone from his hand and slamming it into the street.

"The Florida Health Department got it right when it declared Renelique a danger to the public," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman, who has been reporting on Renelique since 2006. "It is unconscionable that this man is allowed to continue the practice of medicine."

At another point in the interview Renelique told Diaz that he did not answer calls from the clinic for help when his late-term abortion patient was in labor because he had scheduled her for 2:00 and he insisted that he would do the abortion in his own time, not hers. But the woman delivered the baby early, prompting unlicensed abortion worker Belkis Gonzalez to cut the baby's cord with desk scissors, shove the struggling baby into a biohazard bag, and then conceal the body on the roof of the clinic. Gonzalez has been criminally charged in that case and is awaiting trial.

"We demand that the New York medical board to reopen Renelique's case and immediately revoke his license. A man with this kind of temper and lack of concern for women should not be allowed to touch a patient," said Newman. "We also want to thank Arnold Diaz for his amazing investigative reporting."

Major Nidal M. Hasan has been charged with the murders of thirteen people. Yet 14 people died on that bloody day. So why won't federal prosecutors charge the Muslim extremist with the death of the unborn child who was killed by Hasan as well?

It is a serious and legitimate question given the intentional effort of Hasan to kill as many as possible. The child was wanted by his mother and the child is a human being. The federal government also has a law on the books to address just this problem. Further the killer did not give the mom a choice. He just acted in the same way abortionists do. So prosecutors need is to look like they can file a case against this killer for destroying not only the adults but the child in the womb as well.

Anything less is cowardice.

MEDIA ADVISORY, November 12, 2009/Christian Newswire --

Chinese researchers Peng Xing and his colleagues conducted a case-control study in Northeast China examining reproductive factors associated with subtypes of breast cancer. They found a statistically significant overall odds ratio of 1.17 (17% increased breast cancer risk for all subtypes combined) among women with induced abortions. [1]

Earlier this year, a Turkish study reported a statistically significant 66% increased risk for women with abortions. [2] Both studies show that, when honest research is conducted outside the control of the U.S. National Cancer Institute and other Western governmental agencies or organizations tethered to abortion ideology and politics, the truth emerges that abortion raises risk. Studies reporting no abortion- breast cancer (ABC) link were proven in medical journals to be stupendously flawed (fraudulent). [3-13]

"The Chinese and the Turkish studies are relevant considering the debate over government-funded abortion through healthcare reform," said Karen Malec, president of the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer. "Government-funded abortion means more dead American women from breast cancer."

American researchers say Chinese studies on the ABC link exclude the possibility of a flaw called "report bias" because abortion isn't stigmatized in China. [14] Communist officials forcibly abort women after first full term pregnancy (FFTP), so Chinese women are considered reliable reporters of their abortions.

Professor Joel Brind (Baruch College, City University of New York) maintains that Chinese studies underestimate the risk of abortion because of its high prevalence in China. Commentary

Xing et al. found an increase in risk associated with having more children (multiparity) among women who delayed FFTP and never breastfed. Commentary

Regarding breast cancer subtypes, the numbers of women within the subgroups are so small that no conclusions can be reached.

The Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer is an international women's organization founded to protect the health and save the lives of women by educating and providing information on abortion as a risk factor for breast cancer.

DETROIT, MI/November 12, 2009/Operation Rescue --

Troubled abortionist Alberto Hodari has put at least two of his abortion clinics up for sale - complete with equipment and furnishings - along with his collection of 13 classic cars in what appears to be an effort to liquidate his assets and leave the abortion business.

According to two sources, Hodari's actions may be a precursor to his leaving the country to avoid mounting legal problems and diminished reputation.

Last week, sidewalk counselor Jennifer Nelson got word to Operation Rescue that Hodari's Southgate abortion clinic was up for sale. Nelson said that the original asking price for the commercial medical space was $320,000 but has recently been reduced to $300,000. She added that Hodari has said he will continue to operate the clinics until a buyer can be found - no matter how long it takes.

Judy Climer of Flint Right to Life told OR that the "for sale" sign went up on Hodari's Flint abortion clinic this week. The large, barn-like metal building that houses the Flint abortion clinic also serves as a garage for Hodari's expensive classic car collection. Climer said that she recently spoke with a man outside the abortion clinic who told her he had "flown in" to take a look at the cars for the implied purpose of buying them.

Complaints filed with the Michigan Department of Community Health are pending and could result in substantial discipline or even license revocation. The complaint relates to the illegal dumping of private medical records discovered and reported by the Citizens for a Pro-Life Society. In February, 2009, Hodari was sentenced to 6 months probation on one criminal count of illegally disposing of abortion records. 11 other counts were dismissed.

Hodari, originally from Argentina, made headlines when CPLS discovered the remains of aborted babies along with patient medical records illegally dumped outside some of his six abortion mills. Hodari added to his notoriety when he told a group of students from Wayne State University that abortionists have a "license to lie" and that he does not wash his hands between patients to prevent his skin from chaffing. He also told reporters that even though he knows induction abortions to be dangerous, he still uses the late-term abortion procedure without regard to the welfare of his patients.

To add to his troubles, Climer said that a major lawsuit was filed against Hodari in Flint last June by an attorney with a reputation for only taking cases with the potential for large monetary awards.

Hodari also faces an additional complaint against his medical license for a forced abortion on a 16-year old girl who was the victim of unreported statutory rape. In February, the victim, Jennifer McCoy told Operation Rescue that Hodari tricked her into an unwanted abortion under the pretense of performing a routine obstetrical examination, then returned her to the man who had been sexually abusing her. She recently filed a complaint against Hodari with the Michigan Department of Community Health, which is still pending.

Hodari further raised eyebrows in July when he was fined only $10k for his responsibility in the death of Regina Johnson. Hodari has been involved in the deaths of at least three additional women since 2004.

"We pray that Hodari quickly finds a buyer for his clinics that will use the property for life-affirming endeavors," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "The quicker he is closed down the better."

November 11, 2009

I always wondered why in my adult years I seemed to be drawn to the men and women who had been in the war and especially those who would tell me stories expressing their post traumatic stress. I would come to an event or a meeting and always seem to find the one table next to the VFW or the row with the seat next to the guy struggling with flashbacks. I was the one always in the corner talking to the man with the cigarette and flags pinned from his vest. I am the woman who will stop on the street and chat with the homeless vet giving him a coffee. We have a certain knowingness and familiarity with each other.

When the man would talk about his feelings of isolation, despair, flashbacks and struggles of bursts of anger or crying fits, I just got it. They would talk about their inability to sleep or the dreams and nightmares when they did sleep. I would shake my head with an understanding that to them probably seemed to come from nowhere. But to me was a deep and vivid understanding that I didn't feel comfortable conveying to them at the time.

One of my friends had been to Vietnam.... He didn't have to be drafted. He volunteered for a tour in Viet Nam. He was a proud American and wanted to serve his country. He believed in the cause of freedom. He was told he would be fine coming back and would have the support of the government and American people. He wanted to finish school, build a house and get a stable job. His dreams were to have a simple, happy and peaceful life after the war. It didn't turn out that way. He couldn't sleep and had trouble focusing for a job or school.

The first time I gave my abortion testimony was in front of a crowd of 2000 people at a mega church. I had spent years working through my feelings of guilt, despair, shame, anger and isolation. I had overcome my nightmares and tendencies toward suicide. I had been washed clean through Jesus. And I had been prompted by the Holy Spirit to tell my story. I was just about to release my book TO BE A MOTHER. And yet this was the first time I was telling my story in public. I talked about keeping my secret. I talked about wanting to die. I talked about feeling deceived by the government for having a law that legalized my choice. I talked about being lied to by the women's movement and not having been aware of the feelings of despair, anger, confusion and pain post abortion. Following the service, the pastor asked me to remain to help the prayer team in the event my testimony hit a nerve with some people.

I was surprised when the first person that approached me was a man with long gray hair and a cane. He had tears in his eyes and said "thank you for your testimony. I was in Vietnam as a soldier. I know about all of your feelings and want you to know that I will pray for you. Thanks for sharing." I think it was this experience and frank conversation with this man that followed that made me aware of the true similarities between veterans experiencing post traumatic stress and the woman experiencing post abortion syndrome. I am always surprised when something to this day triggers my experience of abortion even 27 years after the fact.

The worst part for us women who experience the syndrome is that those who advocated for our choice and the American Psychological Association deny a link to abortion and post traumatic stress. They often say that those of us who experience the symptoms had them prior to the abortion. And although they say that a fire, accident, sexual assault, earthquake, robbery, will trigger the syndrome, having a baby violently ripped from your womb should have no psychological effects on a woman who is of sound mind. Sort of like being encouraged to go into battle and then when you come off saying 'this hurts' your leaders says to you "oh you had that deep wound before you stepped into the battle."

My friend was of sound mind when he went off to Vietnam too. Things changed. I also changed from a happy girl singing in the sun to a woman who found it difficult to pull up the shades for years. But let's say that it is as the pro-choice organizations say 'women who suffer adverse psychological after effects most likely had issues to begin with." Why is there no warning or informed consent required? Why would they allow a woman with a history of depression to abort? Why do they still prescribe abortion to a woman traumatized already from rape? If an abortion on top of a pre-existing trauma will push them into this reaction of contemplating suicide then wouldn't abortion for rape or the chronically depressed be the last thing the woman needs?....

My friend is a psychologist that believes post abortion syndrome exists and yet is forced to code the insurance claims as POST TRAUMATIC STRESS. She has to find a car accident or fire or earthquake in her patient's past that is acceptable to the insurance companies because the abortion that her client experienced and witnessed of her 18 week old baby, accidentally seeing the body parts is not covered. Or the woman given the abortion pill, told to go home to "extract" the baby, sitting on the toilet with an arm of her baby in toilet paper, is only in despair because of some pre-existing condition? If a tornado can place you into post traumatic stress, certainly looking at the remains of your baby in the toilet can trigger a trauma as well....

I pray for the day when we can all be truly informed for what stands ahead of us as we walk into our choices as women too. Our babies are never our enemies. They are our blessings. Abortion not only kills a human being but it can destroy a woman too. I don't care how many studies the APA denounces. I am a soldier living in the battlefield that is covered with women wounded by abortion. I don't appreciate having to be there to offer only first aid when we need our medics to perform surgery. But it looks like the hands are tied because how do you fix a problem that doesn't officially exist on paper? In the meantime, those of us that have been able to find the way off of the battlefield covered in carnage, will have to be the ones to carry our sisters off the field...

SYMPTOMS OF POST ABORTION STRESS
Post Traumatic Syndrome

Randall K. O'Bannon, Ph.D., NRL-ETF Director of Education & Research
November 11, 2009/National Right to Life --

Planned Parenthood says "Our monitoring shows that mifepristone medication abortion continues to be a safe abortion option." The distributor of Mifeprex (the trade name for RU486) says that "Mifeprex is 92-95% effective for safely ending early pregnancy."

But a new study from Finland says that 20% of the women using the abortion pill suffer at least one significant complication. Nearly 4% reported two or more complications or "adverse events."

The study, "Immediate Complications After Medical Compared with Surgical Termination of Pregnancy," appeared in the October 2009 issue of the journal Obstetrics & Gynecology. A team of Finnish Researchers headed by Maarit Niinimäki of the Oulu University Hospital looked at all abortions, surgical and chemical, performed up to 63 days after gestation, in Finland between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2006.

To identify and tally the complications, researchers looked at all abortion patient inpatient and outpatient visits occurring within 42 days after the abortion. A national health records system enables researchers to track the medical outcomes with individual patients over time.

Researchers found that 15.6 % percent of those undergoing chemical abortions hemorrhaged, 1.7% encountered infection, and 6.7% had incomplete abortions.

BRYAN, TX, November 10, 2009/Christian Newswire --

"I am gratified that Planned Parenthood has failed in its misguided effort to silence its former clinic director in Bryan/College Station, Texas, who experienced a spiritual conversion after witnessing an abortion and is now pro-life," said David Bereit, national director of 40 Days for Life.

A district court judge denied a request for an injunction against Abby Johnson, who resigned as director of a Planned Parenthood of Houston and Southeast Texas abortion facility in Bryan/College Station last month. The judge also denied a similar request directed at the Coalition for Life, the local pro-life organization that started the 40 Days for Life campaign in Bryan/College Station five years ago.

According to news reports, Judge J.D. Langley said Planned Parenthood did not offer convincing reasons "to warrant the extreme remedy of injunctive relief." Planned Parenthood had initiated the court action to block disclosure of confidential information about patients, which is something Johnson said she had never intended to do.

Johnson was very pleased with the court's decision, which opens the door for her to offer more specifics about her work at Planned Parenthood and the reasons she resigned. After watching an abortion procedure on an ultrasound machine, she had a change of heart about abortion and was unable to continue working at the clinic.

Since her departure from Planned Parenthood, Johnson's story has received major media attention at a time when abortion has become the central issue in the national debate over healthcare reform. "The truth about abortion that Abby witnessed on an ultrasound machine at Planned Parenthood underscores the fact that abortion is not health care, and it should not be funded in any way by the government," said Bereit.

Johnson was mentioned by name during Saturday's U.S. House debate over an amendment that was designed to limit taxpayer funding of abortions. In remarks on the House floor, Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) said, "Self-described as 'extremely pro-choice,' but now pro-life, Abby Johnson said she watched an unborn child 'crumple' before her very eyes as the infant was vacuumed and dismembered by a suction device 20-30 times more powerful than a household vacuum cleaner. 'I could see the baby try to move away ... I just thought what am I doing ... never again.'"

Since her resignation from Planned Parenthood, Johnson has spoken on behalf of 40 Days for Life and has even joined the 40 Days for Life volunteers outside her former place of employment to pray for an end to abortion.

Dallas, TX/November 10, 2009/Operation Rescue --

An abortionist who admits to having committed illegal, back alley abortions prior to Roe v. Wade has announced plans to open a new late-term abortion clinic in Dallas last month. Curtis Boyd, 72, told a pro-abortion Internet site that he was committing illegal abortions on January 22, 1973, when the Roe v. Wade decision was announced.

"This is a case where an illegal back alley abortion hack simply hung the 'open' sign out on the front door and kept on with his grisly business," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "Now, at 72 years old, he wants to do the more dangerous late-term abortions. This is a recipe for disaster if I ever saw one."

Boyd shocked America by confessing to a Dallas television reporter that he believes that abortion is killing.

"Am I killing?" Boyd said. "Yes, I am. I know that."

Boyd is a backslidden ordained Baptist minister who now identifies with the apostate Unitarian Universalist "Church" whose doctrine is antithetical to orthodox Christianity.

"It was ironic that during the recent debate on abortion funding in the proposed health care system that several abortion supporters in the House rose to say that without taxpayer funding of abortion, we would return to the days of back alley abortions. Unfortunately, we never left those days," said Newman.

"Some of the same quacks, including Boyd, that were doing illegal abortions before Roe v. Wade are still operating. Little has changed. Women continue to be maimed and killed in our nation's abortion clinics. Just ask the families of Laura Hope Smith or Christin Gilbert, who were killed recently during so-called legal abortions. The only real solution is to grant the legal protections of personhood to the pre-born and close down the killing centers for good."

WASHINGTON, November 9, 2009/Christian Newswire --

Today a spokesman for Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) told POLITICO that he would only support a health care reform bill that excludes abortion coverage in a manner similar to the Pitts-Stupak language included in the House version. Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser offered the following statement:

Senator Reid should take his cues from the House and pro-life members of his own caucus when crafting abortion language in the Senate health care reform bill. What Senator Nelson and many others recognize is that the Stupak language is the only authentic abortion exclusion measure.

Given President Obama's record and his promises to the abortion lobby, it is a safe assumption that he will support abortion-friendly language under the guise of 'compromise.' Despite his rhetoric, there is just simply no room for compromise when human life is at stake. Either you fund abortion or you don't.

We've already seen phony compromises like the Capps Amendment offered by abortion advocates. These accounting gimmicks are not acceptable. American taxpayers demand safeguards that will ensure not one dime of federal funds will subsidize abortion or health plans that cover abortion. The Senate should respect this status quo, precedent set under the Hyde Amendment.

This afternoon President Obama told Jake Tapper of ABC News, he was confident that the final legislation will ensure that "neither side feels that it's being betrayed." He continued, "I want to make sure that the provision that emerges meets that test -- that we are not in some way sneaking in funding for abortions, but, on the other hand, that we're not restricting women's insurance choices."

For the last several months, the Susan B. Anthony List has mobilized tens of thousands of pro-life Americans nationwide to urge Congress to exclude abortion from healthcare reform. Susan B. Anthony List activists have sent over 400,000 letters to Congress requesting an explicit exclusion of abortion from health care reform.

The Susan B. Anthony List is a nationwide network of Americans, over 167,000 residing in all 50 states, dedicated to mobilizing, advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics. Its connected Candidate Fund increases the percentage of pro-life women in the political process.

WASHINGTON/November 9, 2009 --

ABC News reports the following comments by President Obama today regarding the Stupak-Pitts Amendment that was added to the health care bill by the House of Representatives on November 7:

"I laid out a very simple principle, which is this is a health care bill, not an abortion bill," President Obama said. "And we're not looking to change what is the principle that has been in place for a very long time, which is federal dollars are not used to subsidize abortions." Saying the bill cannot change the status quo regarding the ban on federally funding abortions, the President said "there are strong feelings on both sides" about an amendment passed on Saturday and added to the legislation, "and what that tells me is that there needs to be some more work before we get to the point where we're not changing the status quo."
Regarding the president's remarks, the following comment may be attributed to Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC):
The only thing that will prevent the health care bill from being 'an abortion bill' is precisely the Stupak-Pitts Amendment, as the House of Representatives recognized by a 46-vote margin. The phoniness of Obama's claim that he has been trying to preserve the 'status quo' on abortion policy should be evident to any observer by now. In reality, the White House and top Democratic congressional leaders have been working hard to create a national federal government health plan that would fund abortion on demand, just as Obama promised Planned Parenthood.
In an email alert distributed on Sunday, November 8, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund said, "President Obama campaigned on a promise to put reproductive health care at the center of his reform plan." The alert urged Planned Parenthood supporters to send Obama emails saying, "Now it's time for you to make good on that commitment."

To see a short video clip of Obama making that promise, before the Planned Parenthood Action Fund on July 17, 2007, click here. On that occasion, Obama said:

Well, look, in my mind reproductive care is essential care. It is basic care. And so it is at the center and at the heart of the plan that I propose. . . . Essentially, what we're doing is to say that we're going to set up a public plan that all persons and all women can access if they don't have health insurance. It'll be a plan that will provide all essential services, including reproductive services.

Today, PolitiFact.com reviewed a November 7 claim by U.S. House pro-abortion leader Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY) that the Stupak-Pitts Amendment "puts new restrictions on women's access to abortion coverage in the private health insurance market even when they would pay premiums with their own money," and concluded that Lowey's claim is "FALSE." WASHINGTON, November 7, 2009/Christian Newswire --

In a vote of 240-194, the Stupak-Ellsworth-Pitts-Kaptur-Dahlkemper-Lipinski-Smith Amendment to prohibit abortion mandates and funding in HR 3962 passed on the House floor.

Americans United for Life Action President and CEO Dr. Charmaine Yoest said, "The passage of this amendment is a victory for the pro-life Americans across this country who have flooded Congress this week with the message that abortion does not belong in health care. The bipartisan effort that led to its passage, under the leadership of Congressmen Bart Stupak and Joe Pitts, is a step toward a future where both political parties defend Life."

"One victory however does not mean the battle is won," Dr. Yoest continued. "We are deeply concerned by the rhetoric we heard today from Democratic leadership indicating an intention to subvert the bipartisan pro-life majority. We will remain vigilant in watching the final language of the Senate bill to ensure that pro-life protections remain in the final health care reform bill."

Americans United for Life also released an analysis expressing concerns over provisions in the health care reform bill, including those dealing with end of life and right of conscience issues.

WASHINGTON, November 7, 2009/Christian Newswire --

The House of Representatives voted today to strip funding for elective abortions in the final hours of debate on the health care bill. The Stupak/Pitts amendment maintains the current federal policy of preventing funding of abortion in federal programs. Individuals may buy supplemental coverage for elective abortions with their own money and private plans that do not receive government subsidies may cover abortions.

"Democrats and Republicans came together to ensure federal funds would not pay for elective abortions. They corrected a terrible provision in the bill that would force Americans to subsidize abortion, an act that kills unborn children and harms women. Pro- life congressmen - Democrat and Republican - worked tirelessly to strip an incentive from the bill that would increase abortions by paying for them with government money," stated Wendy Wright, President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee.

For months, Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee rallied members to oppose abortion funding in the health care bill even up to the last hours before the vote.

The bill still contains objectionable provisions that will ration and deny health care, pay for coercive "end of life planning", create multiple bureaucracies that will control Americans health care, penalize Americans for not buying a product (health insurance), fine Americans if a government agent decides their health care plan is not "government approved", and may force Americans to buy government mandated insurance that funds objectionable procedures.

If the objectionable issues are not corrected, Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee will oppose passage of the final bill.

Concerned Women for America is the nation's largest public policy women's organization.

What three organizations have backed abortion on demand? The answer that many might respond with is Planned Parenthood, the Democratic Party, NARAL or some women's group.

How about three of the largest church organizations in America: the Evangelical Lutheran Church In America (10,500 congregations), the Presbyterian Church (10,000 congregations and 2,3 million members), and the United Methodist Church (8 million members).

SIOUX FALLS, SD, November 6, 2009/Christian Newswire --

A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study of sex education concluded that comprehensive sex education programs (CSE programs--those that include condom instruction) are effective. Yet the data showed that in schools, these programs had no significant impact on teen condom use, pregnancy or STDs, according to Irene Ericksen and Danielle Ruedt, two members of the study's panel of consultants who issued a dissenting viewpoint.

According to Ericksen, a research analyst with The Institute for Research & Evaluation in Salt Lake City, the study also performed statistical tests that showed no difference between abstinence education vs. CSE on key outcomes: teen condom use, sexual activity, pregnancy, and STDs.

Furthermore, the AE programs produced a significant reduction in teen sexual activity, coming from 10 different studies and 6 authors. But the researchers discounted these results because several randomized AE studies showed lesser effects, even though these studies had important design problems that called into question their impact.

Ericksen added, "It is unfortunate the statistical evidence that demonstrates the above discrepancies was not released to the public along with the Recommendation Statement."

Leslee Unruh, President of the Abstinence Clearinghouse expressed concern at this inconsistent evidence. "These results present a different picture than the study's published conclusions, especially for school-based CSE. Policy makers deserve accurate information regarding the lack of effects of these condom-centered programs. Moreover, the emotional health of our children is as important as their physical health and condom education fails youth in both of these areas. Abstinence education protects both."

A New Zealand study that says abortion puts women at increased risk of anxiety and depression is but the latest in a long line of scientific reports that reach the same conclusion said leaders of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign today.

"Science has for years been supporting what we already know from the public testimonies and the private devastation of post-abortive women," said Janet Morana, co-founder of SNMAC, the world's largest network of individuals harmed by abortion. "This study is one more rock on a mountain of evidence that when a woman terminates a life she has been nurturing, she cannot anesthetize her soul."

"The New Zealand study, published in the British Journal of Psychiatry, in its own words calls into question whether abortions can be justified for mental health reasons" added Georgette Forney, another co- founder of SNMAC. "It's ironic that this study comes out as leaders in Congress try to expand access to abortion in the name of health care. In effect, pro- abortion politicians are seeking to cover a procedure that will only lead to more costly mental health care services down the road."

Since the launching of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign in 2003, 3,423 women and men have shared their testimonies publicly at over 489 gatherings in 48 states and eight countries where more than 103,000 spectators have heard the truth about abortion's negative aftereffects. More than 7,200 people are registered to be Silent No More. Raising awareness about the hurtful aftermath of abortion and the help that is available to cope with the pain are two of the Campaign's goals.

This legislation is estimated to cost our nation over $1.2 TRILLION and still contains a massive abortion industry bailout in the form of government funded abortions through the "public" option.

Planned Parenthood and the rest of the abortion industry are pulling out all the stops to get this bill passed. They know it will open the floodgates to billions of dollars of government funds for their abortion business -- and they are pressuring elected officials into giving them exactly what they want.

There is nothing more important today than FLOODING our Congressmen with calls and e-mails insisting that they explicitly exclude abortion from any health care reform bill!

CONTACT CONGRESS NOW: http://tinyurl.com/yg6jot5

This afternoon, pro-abortion House leaders are expected to put forward a "Rule" intended to BLOCK the only Pro-Life Amendment on the table -- the Stupak-Pitts Amendment -- from receiving a vote.

Instead, the "Rule" is expected to include the Ellsworth Amendment, which House leadership has been deceptively calling a "pro-life" amendment. The Ellsworth Amendment specifically ALLOWS federal funding of abortion in the public plan and allows government subsidies to go to private plans that include abortion coverage.

Don't be fooled!

Such a "Rule" would prevent any truly pro-life provision from being considered or included and will result in the largest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade in 1973.

We only have TODAY!

And just in time to help get the word out that the current health care reform bill DOES fund abortion on demand with government money, Stop the Abortion Mandate coalition members just launched a new ad on CNN Headline News today.

Check it out here and share this with others: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iPym0GvYEg

As Congressman Chris Smith said on Monday night's massive Stop the Abortion Mandate webcast: "THIS IS THE BIG ONE!"

Act now, or millions more innocent unborn children will die.

FRONT ROYAL, VA, November 5, 2009/Christian Newswire --

Life Decisions International has released a revised edition of The Boycott List, which identifies corporations that are boycott targets due to their support of Planned Parenthood, the world's primary abortion-advocacy group.

"As a direct result of the commitment, action and prayers of pro-family people, at least 231 corporations have stopped funding Planned Parenthood," said LDI Chairman Thomas C. Strobhar. It is estimated that the boycott has cost Planned Parenthood more than $40 million since the Corporate Funding Project began nearly 17 years ago. "This should serve as a testament to those who thought it impossible to change corporate philanthropic behavior."

New boycott targets, appearing on the pre-Christmas 2009 edition of The Boycott List:

  • Buffalo Wild Wings (restaurants)

  • Estée Lauder (cosmetics/personal care products)

  • Computer Sciences Corporation (information technology)

  • United Parcel Service (shipping services)

Corporations continuing as boycott targets from the previously released Boycott List:
eBay (Pay Pal, etc.) AlphaGraphics, Wells Fargo (including Wachovia), Nike, Time Warner, (HBO, AOL, etc.), Bank of America, Walt Disney, Johnson & Johnson, Lost Arrow (Patagonia, etc.), Chevron, Nationwide Insurance, Sonic (restaurants)

LDI singled out longtime boycott target Whole Foods Market for special attention. "Whole Foods Market has been misleading pro-life consumers for many years. Statements from the Company vary, depending on who is doing the talking at the time," LDI Director of Communications Ken Garvey. "Whole Foods has been emphasizing that it does not support Planned Parenthood at the corporate level, but it does do so on the local level. Corporate officials are telling pro-life advocates it is acceptable to shop at Whole Foods if their particular local market does not give to Planned Parenthood. As one Whole Foods officials said, 'As I explain to many of the people you encourage to boycott us, check with your local store and see if they donate. Many are happy with this.'"

"We are surprised that any pro-life consumer would fail to see how they are being manipulated by Whole Foods," Garvey said. "Whole Foods could put an immediate stop to support of Planned Parenthood if the chief executive officer chose to do so. Would the 'decentralized giving program' excuse be acceptable to the Humane Society if a local market chose to make a donation to support dog fighting? Certainly not. Corporate headquarters would put an immediate stop to it. Pro-lifers should view Planned Parenthood in the same way."

Garvey noted that Whole Foods stores located in liberal areas are supporting the pro-abortion group while those in more conservative areas are pleading ignorance and innocence. "It is foolhardy to buy into the idea that one may shop at Whole Foods if their local store claims it is not funding Planned Parenthood," he said. "Every pro-life consumer who accepts this 'reasoning' is doing great damage to the pro-Life Movement in general and the Corporate Funding Project in particular."

The new Boycott List includes an expanded "Dishonorable Mention" section, which identifies charitable groups that are associated with Planned Parenthood and/or its agenda. Groups named in this section include American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), Lions Clubs, the American Cancer Society, Camp Fire Girls Inc., Girl Scouts, Kiwanis Clubs, the March of Dimes, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Rotary Clubs, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Salvation Army, the YWCA, and YMCA, among others.

"This has not been some sort of 'Jesse Jackson boycott' where we make news for a few days and then go away," Strobhar said. "Corporate officials are learning that those who value life are among the most dedicated people on earth. We will not go away until corporate involvement with Planned Parenthood comes to an end."

DENVER, November 5, 2009 /Christian Newswire --

November 5, 2009 marks the one-year anniversary of the inception of Personhood USA. Following the Nation's first-ever Personhood effort to reach an election ballot, Personhood USA was launched by the CO campaign's full-time coordinators, Cal Zastrow and Keith Mason.

For the first time, Personhood USA is releasing the full list of states participating in Personhood efforts. The complete list is available at www.personhoodusa.com.

In 2009, Personhood USA exploded into thirty-two states, serving as an advocacy organization for pre- born babies through peaceful activism, legislative efforts, and ballot-access petition initiatives, amassing over 40k grassroots volunteers. Personhood USA has seen a staggering number of first-time-ever pro-life volunteers, along with an influx of seasoned pro-lifers who have not participated in pro-life ministry for many years.

"Personhood offers a new hope for pre-born babies that's exciting and motivating," remarked Brenda Macmenamin, sponsor of Personhood Florida. "Pro- life Americans are encouraged and inspired as they haven't been in years."

"Our goal has been to serve Jesus Christ and offer support to grassroots pro-lifers," stated Cal Zastrow, co-founder. "Personhood USA exists to support, encourage, and assist Personhood movements across the country. We are excited to continue this fight against the dehumanization and murder of preborn children."

In the past year, the organization has been featured in Newsweek, the Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, The Las Vegas Review Journal, and numerous other newspapers, blogs, web sites, and radio shows, including acclaimed online news source World Net Daily.

Today it announces its goal for 2010: Personhood initiatives in all 50 states. Personhood USA aims to begin, pass, defend, and apply Personhood initiatives in every state, educating every American citizen and making abortion unimaginable.

"Every Personhood attempt is a success," explained Keith Mason, co-founder. "We are growing by leaps and bounds, and every attempt offers new opportunities to educate Americans about the value of life. All human beings are people, and we must ensure that their right to live is recognized and protected. That is why, with God's blessing, by the end of 2010 Personhood USA plans to be in every one of the United States of America."

National Right to Life/WASHINGTON/November 4, 2009 -

The House Democratic leadership today announced that it will propose a "Rule" on the health care bill, H.R. 3962, that will insert language proposed by Rep. Brad Ellsworth (D-In.), and exclude a House vote on an amendment proposed by Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mi.). The House is expected to vote on the "rule" late Friday or early Saturday. The National Right to Life Committee, the federation of right-to-life organizations in all 50 states, supports the Stupak Amendment and opposes the pro-abortion Ellsworth-Waxman-Pelosi language. NRLC issued the following statement, which may be attributed to NRLC Legislative Director Douglas Johnson:

"Any House member who votes for the Pelosi rule is voting to establish a federal government insurance plan, the public option, that the bill explicitly authorizes to pay for all elective abortions. When a federal agency pays for abortions, that is federal funding of abortion in reality, whatever contrived labels Speaker Pelosi or her acolytes slap over it. The Ellsworth language is a political fig leaf made out of cellophane -- it directs the federal Secretary of Health to hire a contractor to deliver to abortion providers the payments for elective abortions, payments that are explicitly authorized by the bill [on page 110]. This is a money-laundering scheme -- a federally funded 'bag man' will deliver government funds to abortionists. This is federal funding of elective abortion."

NRLC's objections to the abortion-related provisions of H.R. 3962 are explained in detail in a letter sent to House members on November 2, posted here (or in PDF format, here).

WASHINGTON, November 4, 2009/Christian Newswire --

"Those who were ready to inscribe 'RIP' on the tombstone of conservative and pro-family values following the 2008 elections got a jolting wake-up call at the polls," said Mathew Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law. "Conservative and pro-family values have never been dead or dying: we just needed principled candidates who can articulate these values, and when that happens, we win," remarked Staver.

"The 2008 elections were a confluence of history, charisma, and promises of hope, contrasted with flat, boring, and moderate rather than conservative ideals. The result was not a referendum on values: it was a referendum on candidates," noted Staver. "Now that we are past the rhetoric and living in reality, the liberal values and policies that came with the candidates are being rejected by the people," said Staver.

In dramatic fashion, VA ushered in three pro-life, pro-family, conservative Republican candidates: Governor-elect Bob McDonnell, Lt. Governor Bill Bolling, and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli. Conservative Republican candidates picked up 5 state House of Delegates seats, including a dramatic come-from-behind victory for Scott Garrett in Lynchburg, who unseated the Democratic incumbent, Shannon Valentine. Valentine was ahead by about 1,400 votes after 19 of the 20 precincts were counted. After the final precinct votes were counted at Heritage Elementary School, Garrett jumped ahead by 210 votes. The stunning victory is attributed solely to the voting block of the students, faculty and staff at Liberty University. Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. encouraged the students at Liberty to register and vote locally, resulting in more than 3,000 new voters. The majority of the students vote in Precinct 20 at Heritage Elementary School. The students voted for pro-life and pro-family values and for limited government.

Conservative and pro-family values swept through NJ, typically a Democratic stronghold, where incumbent Gov. John Corzine was defeated by his Republican challenger, Chris Christie. Then, in a huge victory for marriage and pro-family values, voters in Maine voted to repeal the same-sex marriage law that was enacted earlier this year. "Every time the citizens have voted on marriage, they have always sided with natural marriage and rejected same-sex marriage. Maine dramatically illustrates the will of the people, and politicians should wake up and listen," said Staver.

"The dramatic triumph of conservative and pro-family values at the polls should send a message to all elected officials -- the people want leaders who stand for limited government, lower taxes, and family values. Obama staked his political machine on winning in NJ when he realized he had no chance in VA. Obama's political machine sputtered. The thought that he would lead a movement has vanished. The people derailed the out-of-control freight train of the liberal Washington policies and politicians," concluded Staver.

FRONT ROYAL, VA, November 4, 2009/Christian Newswire --

"Every time an election is held and pro-abortion candidates win, Planned Parenthood runs to the media to say the results show great support for its agenda. But the hierarchy of the abortion-committing group is silent now that voters in NJ and VA have soundly rejected the politics of death espoused by Planned Parenthood- endorsed candidates," said Douglas R. Scott, Jr., president of Life Decisions International.

"Many Planned Parenthood-endorsed candidates, including Creigh Deeds in VA, made unrestricted abortion the keystone of their campaigns," Scott said. "They saw the issue as the Achilles' Heel of pro-life candidates. But the people have seen through the ruse that Planned Parenthood and its legions have employed for decades."

Scott said he hopes this will serve as a lesson to other politicians. "Hang your hopes on promoting the pro-abortion agenda and you can expect it to get you nowhere - absolutely nowhere."

Scott said he is thrilled that every statewide race in VA was won by a pro-life candidate, and the top office in NJ was won by a candidate who does not embrace Planned Parenthood's extremist agenda.

"Pro-life candidates of the future need to stand tall and proud," Scott said. "After all, you are not the ones who have embraced killing and death as a 'solution' to social problems. It is those who believe killing and death are acceptable choices who should truly be ashamed. If the death of their children is the best 'solution' we can offer women who are facing an untimely pregnancy, we are a sad, sad society indeed. We can surely do better."

What's the matter, Planned Parenthood? Election results got your tongue?

WI RTL/Tuesday, November 3, 2009--

Today, the WI State Assembly will vote on Assembly Bill 458. The following is the text of the memo sent to Assembly Representatives by Susan Armacost, Wisconsin Right to Life Legislative Director in opposition to the measure.

TO: Assembly Representatives

FROM: Susan Armacost, Legislative Director, Wisconsin Right to Life

RE: Wisconsin Right to Life urges you to vote "no" on Assembly bill 458

Assembly Bill 458 mandates that certain subjects be covered when schools include classes in Human Growth and Development in their curriculum.

Wisconsin Right to Life strongly believes that our state should be promoting public policy initiatives that enhance the health of our youth as well as reduce the number of pregnancies among our youth and reduce the number of abortions obtained by our youth. Programs that focus on abstinence from sexual activity are vital in order to teach students that abstinence is the healthiest course for them to take and is the only way to insure that sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy and abortion will not result.

Unfortunately, AB 458 would require that students be taught about a number of activities that could endanger their health and could result in a growing number of teen sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancies and abortions. School districts would no longer be able to offer an abstinence-only curriculum to their students under AB 458.

Wisconsin Right to Life believes that this legislation is not in the best interest of the youth of our state and should be rejected by the legislature.

Thank you.
