Thoughts of Ted Kennedy stir quite competing emotions in me.
Sadness and compassion are 2 I feel when considering Kennedy's family history.
All 3 of Kennedy's older brothers were killed young while serving their country. This meant that after his father died in 1969, Kennedy was forced at the age of 40 into the role of patriarch of a large clan that included 2 widowed sisters-in-law and 13 fatherless nieces and nephews.
Kennedy was present, for instance, at Ethel's delivery of daughter Rory 6 months after husband and father Bobby was assassinated.
But in an awful twist, John Jr. died in a plane crash on his way to Rory's wedding in 1999, yet another example of the seemingly never-ending Kennedy family tragedies.
And I feel bad about all that.
Then there's the Chappaquiddick Kennedy, which stirs shock and disbelief, and the rabble-rousing Kennedy, whose poor example did nephew William Kennedy Smith no favors, which stirs disgust.
And there is the Liberal Lion Kennedy, who wrought catastrophic harm to preborn human life.
This Kennedy infuriates me.....

well, you know, God deals with them. Susan Atkins has brain cancer, right?
Maybe some of us can't wait around for justice and have to continue to complain about it.
All of us make the mistakes.
He's gone, they suffered, and he made contributions to the nation that can't be overlooked, the nation is better for him being here.
I have made my mistakes, I have suffered for it too. Better suffer on this side, then that side.
'Au contraire' Joanne! While yes, all will face a judgement and, yes, we all make mistakes, the remainder of your comment couldn't hardly be further from the truth. And, I must say, you don't know history, or at least very well. Ted Kennedy's "contributions" to our nation were demonstrably and inarguably primarily negative. I for one would very much like to disregard his so-called contributions, as most of his actions did considerable harm to us all. We, as a nation of peoples, as a country, and as a union of states, are certainly NOT better for him "being here." Yes, GOD will judge him for his beliefs and for what he did here on Earth. I don't imagine the Lord being too happy with Teddy.
OOO laa laa to you too! who are you to judge.
I have been unemployed in limbo for a year and a half and my mother has to pay my car payments and take care of me. My unemployment has extended and was lowered because I held down two jobs and had to quit the other when I was forced out of my house to move back in with my mother.
If it wasn't for my autistic grandson, being in the same house, I would have rather not be here.
Then she'll have to pay for everything else when the rest of the unemployment runs out. She is 79, turning 80 this year. You and your opinion don't take care of this house.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and your opinion is like what they say, so I am not impressed. You are jealous of his funeral and the many people that loved him. And you need to use spell check. I can't waste time changing your mind, it would be like trying to change the minds of the jealous, angry negative people that fired me and bad mouthed me out of every job I've applied to. One day everybody to include you, will get their just dues. You can take your opinion and put it back where it came from. I won't listen to this any more and unsubcribe, delete, and abort it.
And BTW, I have heard that unemployed people that live in other states, like you obviously do, have had a hard time getting any kind of unemployment to include having to pay it back once they find a job. It's good to live in MA, I have lived in the South and the West and politically they are in shambles and don't take care of their people. So, much for your opinion on living in the great state of MA!
It's pretty obvious that this woman loathes Ted Kennedy. So, she praises him and then expresses her "pity" for him regarding his letter to the Pope. That's pretty condescending. Why doesn't she just come out and say that she hates Kennedy because he was pro-choice? She said she has "mixed" feelings regarding him. I don't think her feelings are mixed at all. Neither is her thinking. It is rigid and inflexible, and contributes nothing.
