White House Receives 2 Million Red Envelopes!

RedEnvelope.pngNice Work! Thank-you to everyone who participated in the Red Envelope Project and sent President Obama a red envelope representing a life ended by abortion. The visual must have been amazing. Story from World Net Daily:

The White House mail office has confirmed it received a "deluge" of as many as 2.25 million red envelopes symbolizing the empty promise of lives snuffed out in abortion in a massive campaign that was larger than most White House mailing movements in the last 35 years.

White House mail worker "Steve" has handled letters for 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. for more than three decades. Every single package and letter destined for the White House goes through his office.

Asked if he has seen a flood of red envelopes bound for the White House, Steve chuckled.

"Uh, yes," he said emphatically. "Believe me, they made it here."

Steve said while Obama has been occupied in Europe, his administration has noticed millions of red envelopes on behalf of aborted children.

"Quite frankly, there was definitely a deluge of mail coming through," he laughed. "I had to handle them all."

"I've been here 35 years, so I've seen presidents come and go," Steve told WND. "This campaign ranks up there with the big ones."

The Red Envelope Project is an idea sparked in the mind and prayers of a Massachusetts man, Christ Otto, who envisioned in January thousands of red envelopes sent to the White House, a visual expression of moral outrage over the president's position on abortion.

What a great idea. I'm sure it has had some impact.

2 million? @@ right! They're already in the trash. No effect or impact at all.

Way to waste paper and kill trees. Trees are living things, not useless unborn [edited] Duh. Morons.

Useless and unborn. The people are not responsible if they can't use a contraceptive. The president agrees wit abortions even if the baby is full term or partial birth. This is horrible.

I'm prepared to sacrifice a few trees for the sake of saving unborn children.

Depraved hostility for little human beings coupled with primitive worship of plants.

"Trees are living things, not useless unborn [edited]"

Trees are indeed living things, but the US government was founded to protect people, not trees.

No matter how "useless", all people, including preborn people are to be protected by the US Constitution no matter what our current unjust abortion (etc) laws prescribe.

"I would agree with St. Augustine that “an unjust law is no law at all.” Now, what is the difference between the two? How does one determine whether a law is just or unjust? A just law is a man made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. To put it in the terms of St. Thomas Aquinas: An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law. Any law that uplifts human personality is just. Any law that degrades human personality is unjust." -Dr. King

Okay, for a one time shot, fine. I sent one for each member of my immediate family. But enough is enough. Two million dollars just hit the trash can at the White House. That kind of money can do a lot of good in the movement. Send it my way! :)

United we stand - Divided they die

Pass it on

It would be equivalent to sending anti-semitic letters to Adolph Hitler and Heinrich Himmler at the Reichtag. (Come to think of it, there are far similarities here than I first imagined...)

Hey, the Red Envelope Project gave me the idea for a project to support Crisis Pregnancy Centers.

This time, we're mailing purple (or white!) envelopes to CareNet. The twist? Instead of empty envelopes, we're filling them with 1 dollar.

If everyone who sent a red envelope sends a purple envelope, just think of the impact we can have!

Hi,

I got excited when I read about the envelopes, but then I was reminded of how cold our president is.

I make crafts. I am also disabled, because I have a bi-polar I disorder. I have seen the inside of more institutions and jails than you can imagine. I can spend money like crazy (real crazy) especially on craft supplies. I have also made more profit in one day, on just a handful of feathers (from a dead chicken) and scrap material from a dumpster, than any other investments I have made for all the years I have been doing this.
I have to agree with the co-founders of AA, when they say that insanity is when you keep doing the same thing over and over and keep expecting different results. Of course when we do what we are obligated to do and we do it from our heart it makes the difference. What I am trying to say is this: I was very happy to hear about the envelopes. We are all depressed about this man we have in office and we needed a treat. I just don't understand why they waited until he was out of town. This spokesman at the unityprolife that scolded this act said what was in his heart and God bless him for that. However, we already have pictures of an aborted fetus, so why don't they spend their donations on a slam dunk with that. Hit them with all you've got with something. There again I must go back to my insanity therory.

IF WE TOOK AWAY ALL OF THE MONEY FROM ALL OF THE WONDERFUL DEDICATED PROLIFE GROUPS, WHAT WOULD THEY DO IN ORDER TO STOP ABORTION???? People from the purple envelope project and every other group such as this should see the money and invest it wisely. I can see it now. It would be like a slap in the face for this president. All this money invested in land and housing for the poor unwanted children and the only thing he will get from the very people he thrives on insulting such as any pro-life group, will be a picture. A picture plastered so harshly and firmly for all society to see and NEVER FORGET. A picture that will show the THE TRUE REFLECTION of how it looks to follow the crowd, to go along with this hedious thing.

Thank you very much, Thersa

Very glad that the Red Envelope Project was a resounding success. The White House may choose to ignore the message, but thanks to this project, thousands of people from all walks of life got involved and discussed the value of life. Let's continue to be the voice for the unborn.

Once you were useless and unborn

there is something very sick inside of you.

Why are you all so proud of this? If you really want to protect the unborn, do something besides mailing empty envelopes. Get funds for homes for pregnant mothers. Work on making unplanned pregnancy something teens don't have to be ashamed of. If you're seriously devoted to protecting life, do something that will actually make a difference.

Fair statement. Actually I do "actually make a difference." with the Sisters of Life in NYC.

But lets be serious, if we didnt make the White House aware and if we didnt try to make it known that we want to change the "law of the land." then we would be making a fatal mistake.

"Why are you all so proud of this? ... If you're seriously devoted to protecting life, do something that will actually make a difference."

How much time and money does it take to send an envelope? How much time and money does it take to help pregnant mothers? Why not take 1/1,000,000,000 (est.) of the later time and money to do the former too?

Hearts and minds must change before laws do, and it's important that the "hearts and minds" inform the powers that be (who change the laws) that we're ready for a change: We're ready for truth and justice.

"Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world," -The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

The tree might have been cut down, but it at least got to live it's life. The life of the tree is pretty much to give us air in exchange for carbon monoxide, give us wood, paper and other such materials when it matures. That is pretty much the life of a tree. The life of a human is to be born, not being killed in the process of being born, learn, love, reproduce, grow old then die and be placed back into mother earth. The end when the tree is cut down, it too will eventually be placed back into mother earth after a long fullfilling life, not a short unlived life.

I agree with the "voice of the unborn" if you get the attention of the government, something will happen. But you can't just sit back and send 2.25 million empty envelopes. There is no way the government receives that many envelopes and doesn't even think about the law. But if you continually send things in countless numbers, they will take notice. Also, like gbm3 said, take action, things will get done sooner. Develop a program for people to help them deal with what they have and the importance. There will quickly be less and less abortions needed in this country and throughout the world.

We sent out many red envelopes, Why haven't we heard in the news about this red envelope project, It really gripes me that it wasn't acknowleged in the news. Where are our voices being hear? The President makes me sick!!

I think the envelopes were a great idea I sent one. In my oppinion if parents would step up and tell there children the consequences of sex before marriage and abortion wasn't an option there would be less teen pregnancies. I believe as a christian abortion is wrong and against GOD's LAW. The problem with todays society no one takes responsibility for THERE actions. SEX=BABY NO SEX NO BABY

It all comes down to God, to Jesus. The more Christians allow God to be taken out of everything the more the devil is allowed to get a strong hold. The red letters was doing something, but it alone in itself is not enough. I agree, we need to start with our own children; we need to teach them God's word and right from wrong. Then we need to be out in our communities standing up for what is right and against what is wrong. This country will fall if the Christians do not stand and unite! Government needs to know that we are here and that we are strong and that we will stand.
