The cartoon is particularly relevant in light of Barack Obama's recent decision to force taxpayers to fund research that destroys human embryos.

How can one compare partial birth abortion to embryonic stem cell research? One partially delivers a fetus and then kills it because it is unwanted, and the other uses five day old blastocysts (balls of 100-200 cells) for the potential good of others? By the way, these blastocysts have no nervous system (the primitive streak forms no sooner than 14 days after conception) and therefore can feel no pain.
This cartoon is just a way to exploit the ignorance of the general public in order to rally against ES cell research.
Nazis would put jews into ice cold water. Their research on hypothermia has benefitted more people than escr has. And they probably felt about their victims the way you do about yours.
If you're so anxious to spend money on killing these little human beings, then spend your own money and keep your hands out of our pockets.
Does anyone care about the fetus after birth? Hello? Did you notice babies need a lot of love. And attention. And care. The deepest feelings of the mother are crucial. God gives a baby one mother and one father, for good reason.
Jessica, I agree with you. This cartoon is manipulative and distorts facts.
Ij, the second guy to comment, the stem cells taken from embryos are not "little human beings" they are human cells that have not yet compiled to create certain types of tissues that form bones, organs, hair, nails, etc. It's like a Lego castle, it's not a castle till all the pieces take shape after being connected to one another.
How is it manipulative? Using babies(and yes I am calling an embryo a baby)for stem cell research is completly worng, if you can not see the links between using babies for scientific research then discarding them and also abortion as the same thing then you are obviously blind. To you an embryo may just be a ball of cells but incase you were wondering that tiny ball of cells turns into life after just 6-8 weeks, therefore making it a human being. By using that child for scientific research, you are taking away its life, therefore, yes, it is murder. You and I were once a ball of cells, can you not see that? how would you like it if you didn't get a say in whether you lived or died? That is how it is for these precious, tiny lives. For your information, there is 42 million abortions per year world wide, dont you find that sad? do you not have compassion? what if you were one of those contributing numbers? Babies used for stem cell research contribute to this number. I find it sad, maybe you dont, but I hope that one day you will see how unfortunate it really is, losing that many lives.
How can one compare human fetuses to legos? It seems quite inhumane.
Legos are not at all an acceptable comparison to unborn human fetus tissue. You are suggesting that this tissue is useless. What if the legos didn't exist at all, then there would be no lego castles. Without the bricks to a building, a brick house can never be built. Without the regard to use of unborn human tissue, there would be no humans.
You know what, there are many people who are unwanted in this world. A majority of those fetuses are not unwanted because of medical reasons or because the mother was raped. The vast majority of the fetuses that are gotten rid of are because of mistakes. Therefore the fact that the fetus is not wanted shouldn't even matter. Secondly, the whole factor about a fetus can't feel pain is crap. How do you know a fetus can't feel pain? There are studies that actually show that when a fetus is being aborted, it moves away and tries to avoid being tampered with. It's trying to survive. The only way it could know to move away is by feeling it. And lastly, noone can say that a fetus is not living because it can't think or feel. Seriously since when do plants think? Plants are living, yet they do not think,or feel pain. I think it's sad that people are against killing the tree's and plant's but are okay with killing embryo's that we all know would be a baby if left alone. All I can say in conclusion is, how hypocritcal can we possibly get?
