The Main Pro-Life Defense - Location, Location, Location

Several reasons are given when someone is promoting abortion: It doesn't look like a baby. It's a blob of tissue. It will be born in poverty. It's disabled. It's unwanted. It will be a crack baby. It will interfere with school or work. The mother is too young. It's in the mother's body, so she can do what she wants with it.

When the issue is being discussed with an abortion proponent, a simple rebuttal can be made for most of their arguments. They should be asked if they are for the killing of a baby outside the womb because it's born in poverty, unwanted, addicted to drugs, etc. Of course, they will say that is different, because the baby is already born. Obviously, they just answered the main pro-life argument for not aborting the baby.

The only difference in those two examples is the location of the baby, and that's it. A born person doesn't change it's nature just by going from one room to another. Astronauts can be thousands of miles in space, but they are still the same people that they were on earth. An unborn doesn't all of a sudden becomes some other entity once it is delivered. Then how is it that an unborn baby is perceived to be so different from a born baby that it should be allowed to be killed. The pro-lifer, of course, believes that location of this person is a non-factor, except for rare health concerns. An example of this is an ectopic pregnancy, where the location of the unborn would eventually kill the mother and itself if left alone.

The argument often comes up that it's attached to the mother so she can do what she wants - the "It's my body argument." The location explanation can be used for that, too. The unborn is attached to the mother for nutrition and growth because it is where it's supposed to be at that time. The infant who is in a different location still is very dependant on its mother or another adult to give it the nutrition it needs to survive. Of course, at that point in time it doesn't need the umbilical cord, but just receives the nutrition in a different fashion. Abortion proponents basically say that the unborn should be killed just because it gets its nutrition at a different location and manner than an infant.

The abortion advocate will usually try to distract from the discussion by throwing out varied arguments for abortion to see which one might stick. But just like in the real estate field, the bottom line is that it's about location, location, location.

The “location” argument is clearly instructive; it makes the point that where you destroy a person doesn’t change what you destroy. The pro-abortion industry has worked hard to inculcate the public mind with the “blob of tissue” imagery to hide the truth, that abortion is infanticide. My effort to get abortion advocates to understand this pro-life concept was to use virtually the same argument in a different way by trying to draw a picture. For example, a woman, Mrs. RO, who is pregnant, knows that she can choose to have her preborn baby legally killed by an abortionist at any time, and for any reason. But she decides not to abort her own baby but she chooses to go next door to a neighbor’s house where Mrs. DO has just brought home a newborn baby girl. Mrs. RO decides to exercise her right to “choose” on her neighbor's preborn baby, instead of her own, and pays an abortionist to have it killed! Obviously, this is hypothetical fiction, but it serves to expose what abortion really is—one individual person choosing to have another separate individual person killed!
Abortion advocates have thrust the “blob of tissue” lie down our throats for years, telling us that what existed in the womb was part of the mother’s body (does a woman’s body have four ears?). Their objective was to sidestep common sense to mitigate their own guilt for supporting the destruction of what they knew in their hearts to be a new human person. In the past, the womb-phase of life, that we all have experienced, was hidden from view and vulnerable to falsification. It has been disguised by a long list of contrived utterances, false imagery, and distortions. But now the false claims of the abortion industry have been irrefutably exposed by science. The womb-phase of life is now an open picture show. Thanks to 3-D and 4-D fetal ultrasound, our eyes can see the unique drama of nature’s miracle in the womb. The fetus has been seen to yawn, cry, swallow, blink and execute intricate moves. Personhood is undeniable! Fetal ultrasound is the achievement of the century; it makes life in the womb clearly visible to the world of science, to legal scholars, and most importantly, to parents. It confirms the truth previously derived through common sense—a preborn baby, in the womb-phase of life, stands on its own right, has its own dignity, character, essence, and he or she is equal in value to any of the rest of us who have been freely born. SCIENCE SHEDS LIGHT ON UNBORN HUMAN LIFE
http://www.sfuhl.org/document/unbornlifereport011302.doc

She cries alone in her room at night.
Repulsively gripping her pillow so tight.
Taunted by visions of her unborn dead.
Disfigured and mangled, dementedly webbed.
Her emotions feel twisted irrationally insane.
While she searches her soul for someone to blame.
Whimpering cries of horrendous fear,
her baby torn apart with surgical gear.
Diminutive and tiny was her gentle seed.
Which only time... could make complete.
But through this malicious act of violence.
Forever her child has been silenced.
Her hearts pulsation not free of guilt;
Now only tears....For precious blood spilt.
By social pressures her choice was made.
She is totally confused with issue: Roe vs. Wade.
dreadfully tarnished is her very young mind.
Still searching the questions.... of this lawful crime.
"Is it wrong?"
"Is it right?"
" Is it death?"
" Is it life?"
While liberals lobby with white house charters.
Millions of children are aborted to slaughter.
For justice their blood cries out from the heap.....of tiny hands and tiny feet.
