And By 'Reduce' You Mean...?

Right on cue, as pro-aborts nationwide were wetting themselves in excitement over being the 'majority' during the 36th anniversary of fetal death on demand, a national Gallup poll revealed that not only are a strong majority of Americans pro-life, but they are none too happy with President Barack Obama overturning the Mexico City Policy. The policy, which was first introduced by President Ronald Reagan in 1984, prevented funding of non-governmental organizations that promote or perform abortions overseas.

So, in addition to reinstating 'change' that Americans were not 'hoping' for, Obama broke a major campaign promise to those of us who don't accept the skull crushing cruelty of abortion by promoting policies that provably increase the number of abortions worldwide. I don't know about you, but my idea of 'reducing abortions' wouldn't include throwing exorbitant amounts of tax-payers' money at this dangerous, murderous elective procedure.

Gallup respondents stated that overturning the Mexico City Policy engendered more opposition than any of Obama's presidential actions thus far, producing the lowest level of support from both Democrats and Republicans. The poll revealed that 58 percent of Americans oppose Obama's pro-abortion decision while just 35 percent support it and 7 percent have no opinion.

It's very important to keep in mind that the majority of those who support the decision are under the false impression propagated by pro-abort media that overturning the policy 'does not directly fund abortions'. Look up any mainstream summary of the decision and you will find the sugar coating of this death pill with drivel such as CNN's disclaimer that, 'Overturning the Mexico City Policy does not fund abortions. Instead what is happening now is that U.S. money can go to groups that support health clinics where abortion is among their services.'

What this means in choice-speak is that Spineless Baby Killer One can get their bloody hands on U.S. taxpayer dollars and hand it over to Spineless Baby Killer Two, who does the actual dirty work. Sort of like when clinic workers convince themselves that they aren't murderers because they only handed the catheter over, they weren't the ones actually suctioning the infants' brains out through a tube.

Abortion proponents, by nature, are self-deceiving. If any human being can look at a 4D sonogram, read the basics of elementary school biology, see pictures of fetal development or view the end result of an abortion procedure - and yet still convince themselves that abortion isn't ending a human life - then you know you are dealing with a group that is either mentally deficient or living in a fictional world of denial.

So, considering their profound ability to deceive themselves, it isn't unusual to find that many pro-aborts think Obama's actions on the Mexico City Policy 'won't fund abortions'. There is now over $400 million in federal funds which will flow to abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood and Marie Stopes International for their foreign efforts. I'm fairly certain that the Americans who believe that the Planned Parenthood play money won't go toward funding abortion are the same people who give money to a homeless alcoholic and think he's going to save it for his mortgage down-payment.

Apparently missing the memo that the public shouldn't know that the overturned Mexico City Policy will directly fund abortion, Walter Odhiambo - the Kenya director for Marie Stopes International - made a public announcement to the Associated Press that the British-based abortion business will now expand its abortion services in rural Africa.

According to research by the Steadman Group conducted last month, the overwhelming majority of Kenyans are pro-life. They are struggling with povery, health issues, even hunger... not a burning desire for the local doctor to stock up on dilation and curettage machines. What rural Africa needs is modern medicine, not abortion.

Odhiambo complains that he had to shut down two Marie Stopes Kenya clinics because of the policy, which resulted in 'thousands of maternal deaths that could have been averted were it not for the Mexico City Policy'. Those are rather condemning words when you consider that had he ended his affiliation with the British abortion business, his clinics would have continued to receive the foreign aid funds, thus preventing the 'thousands' of undocumented and unsubstantiated maternal deaths he speaks of.

But think of it this way. Even if the maternal death toll were fact and not just another puzzle piece of pro-abort fiction - look at the price abortion advocates are willing to pay to fund fetal murder. Abortion 'rights' at any price is just downright creepy. But what these non-governmental organizations are proposing is simply sadistic. Why are we throwing money at the baby butchers again? Say, our country isn't broke or anything is it?

The overturning of the Mexico City Policy - aside from being economically retarded - is not about helping women in developing countries. It is instead a money-grubbing attack on black and brown children. It is a sad fact that when it comes to abortion, killing minorities pays. Find countries where the children are dark skinned and you'll find countries where Obama is sending money to abort them.

According to Planned Parenthoods own statistics from The Alan Guttmaucher Institute, almost as many African-American children are aborted as are born in America. A black baby is three times more likely to be murdered in the womb than a white baby. Every three days more African-Americans are killed by abortion than have been killed by the Ku Klux Klan in its entire history.

The numbers are truly staggering. Since 1973, abortion has reduced the black population by over 25 percent. To put it into proper perspective, more black children are killed by abortion than twice the total number of deaths from AIDS, violence, accidents, cancer and heart disease... combined!

Obama's ace in the hole is the sad fact that African Americans are so hungry to see one of their own grab the presidency that they wishfully will him into being the 'brother' that, by all the evidence, he is not. Not only is he ignoring the very real holocaust of his own people in America, he is now providing funds for McAbortion clinics to increase in Africa as well. Keep in mind we're talking about a man who is a firm and ferocious advocate of stabbing kids in the back of the head and suctioning their brains out. We really shouldn't marvel that he is overturning human rights policies that the majority of Americans firmly support.

The bottom line is, we should not export the tragedy of abortion to other nations, and we certainly shouldn't do so via the hard-earned dollars of American taxpayers. Poor women in developing nations are not calling for help to kill their children. They are calling for food, housing, and medicine for themselves and their families. Any organization that would deny that, simply because it cannot cash in on killing kids, is an organization that truly belongs to an Obama-nation.

Excellent article Gingi. Great tone; these are serious matters that need a forceful, straightforward presentation, and you delivered.

I couldn't agree with you more on every issue.

Sorry, Gingi, I stop reading after I see the derogatory and demeaning label "pro-aborts". Please, I beg you, don't use that term. We don't like being called "Anti-choice" so why should we call them a shorthand, demeaning label? We should be better than that. This explains why.

Why not call a spade a spade? The second you start playing their little word games, you fall into the trap that convinces America that a precious child is a 'product of conception'. I call them pro-aborts because they ARE pro-abortion. How is that demeaning? It's simply the truth my friend. ^_^

As a pro-choicer, I'd like to point out that 'pro-abortion' is unaccurate. We don't regard abortion as an aim in itsself, but as an unfortunate necessity. An unpleasant, undesireable act, but one which must be permitted either for abstract reasons of personal choice and autonomy or because in some situations to not abort is even worse than abortion. Pro-choicers, in general, are more then happy to see abortion rates fall - that's why we are usually so supportive of contraception.

And before anyone points out my childish error in grammer, I'd like to remind them that u and i are adjacent keys. I'm typing in bed. It's not the most comfortable of places.

But what is the 'choice' in pro-choice?

Abortion.

You are supportive of abortion rights, therefore you are pro-abortion. I understand that you and many others like to play the 'I'm pro-choice but not pro-abortion' card.. but you have to realize that even giving the 'abortion is a choice we like to avoid' excuse, the choice you are supporting is STILL supportive of abortion. Supportive = pro. Choice = abortion.

If you are going to take a stand for something, do it. But let's not sit around playing word games and balk at being called exactly what we are. ^_^

I think that 99% of people claiming to be "pro-life" or "anti-abortion" do not really beleive what they claim. Most simply view this from a theoretical standpoint. If one truly believes, as many bloggers say they do, that life begins at conception, then one must account for the taking of that life. Is it enough to simply complain about the numbers of babies (fetusses, embryos, etc) being killed, or removed? No. Is it enough to protest in front of abortion providers (to no avail)? No. Is it enough to promote legislation, judicial appointments, and political candidacies who defend the lives of the unborn? No.
If a fetus is a living human being, then logically, aborting it must be considered a violent act against an innocent person (not a fetus, or embryo, but a person). The left has successfully used the term "abortion" and we have accepted it. The reality is that abortion is murder.
Think of planned parenthood not as a family planning office, but as a place where innocent people are being killed in a nazi-esque assembly line. This is where the popular pro-life argument breaks down.
Imagine, you walk past a line of people on thier knees, tied, unable to speak, unable to plea their cases, completely vulnerable and defenseless in every way. Behind this line of people, there is a man in a white robe walking behind them, pausing only to shoot them in the back of the head, and not giving it another thought. Would you stand there holding a sign? Would you ask if maybe he could just kill a few less people? Would you try to elect politicians who would prefer that he stop killing these innocents, whose blood stains the streets of our cities? Would you merely hope that some judge would say that it is illegal for him to do so?
I think for many of you reading this the answer is "yes."
We should be a society that lives in awe of the creation of life. We should be a society that will do what is neccesary to stop the wasting of potential. Yet we, like the proletariat of countless nations, sit by and watch the genocide. We smile and say we're trying to get something done, while in reality nothing will ever be done untill some outside force shows us the crude, shameful, indulgant, and guilty people we have become.
Shame on us, pro lifers, shame on us.

I don't quite understnad the last comment. I agree 100% with this post though. Well, one thing I think I would change I guess...the part about the klu klux klan or any mention of slavery. I agree it is just just as much of a civil right's horror, if not worse than.. But I think when pro-lifers use it, it just backfires on us with most people. My opinion is the pro choice people will write you off as soon as they hear something far-fetched (in their mind)

I think the last comment is suggesting we should do more, and I agree. The most obvious in my opinion is to get some of the pro-lifers up to date with the times. We may have to play them a their own game (at times) just to get the younger generations attention. First off facebook and myspace would convice anyone that just moved to this country to vote democrat. We are so under represented in the media because it is corrupt and a brainwashing thing when put in the places it is...but we might have to fight back with brutal honesty to show up the lies.

I was raped, suppressed it and a growing belly for 7 months, had a baby girl, and placed her for adoption. If you hear anyone use the stupid line again, "well what if you were raped, then why should you have to carry to term a baby?" Pleas refer them to me! I'm sick of them persuading people on stuff they don't even bother asking a real woman that has been through it about! Pro-lifers are tough in general, Pro-choice people are wimps (sorry, but it is true. I bet if we did a survey they would be the ones that cried as a kid if they didn;'t get picked something)

Got off topic, Why do they assume automatically women can't handle it? Two wrongs dont make a right. I am so mad at the abortion industry, I cant explain it. Its just that they would made it so easy for me to walk in the door and kill my daughter that first day I found out I was pregnant (without telling my parents or anyone first) luckily I didn't thanks to God taking over. My opinion on everything changed full over after just a few days of letting the fact that this is a litttle life, sink in. But they made it so easy for me to kill my daughter, and since she means the world to me today, this grudge isn't going to ever go away until they are destroyed (the companies like planned parenthood...not the people destroyed)

Anyways, good post, just got me heated and then it's a full day of aching im my heart for these defenseless children, but that's the way it should be for me I think... until this mess is taken care of. I live right by a abortion clinic too. (not one for long I hope) To me the numbers don't matter. One life lost to abortion is the same as a million. One life is no less precious than a bundle of lives. It's all a tragedy.

The part about how most people for mexico policy dont know what it is , is just so true. I will make random comments on my facebook about the abortion debate, and I get about 30 replies from people that are almost exactly alike. They are brainwashed my the media. We need to start brainwashing a bit too!

David, while I wholly agree that some pro-life folks don't do enough, I think you are completely offbase accusing "99.% of prolifers" of just "holding a sign" or "merely hop[ing] that some judge would say that it is illegal for him to do so."

The mass media refuses to tell you and everyone how many people are actively trying to not only overturn abortion rights laws but help those now alive or to-be-left-alive, children and mothers, if abortion is no longer allowed by law.

What are you suggesting we prolife folks do, instead of all that we actually do but you are unaware of, when the law of the land allows abortion up until and partially through the moment of birth?

Some people can only go as far as holding a sign out in front of an abortion clinic and praying silently for changes of heart.

Some people can get vocal and public as I and many others have done. We are able to withstand the persecution and hatred we've withstood for years as a result.

Many are not able to subject themselves to that. I don't fault postabortive women who live in fear of being "found out" they regret their abortions.

You sound like you do.

Maybe their children or their husbands or bosses don't know. They see me and others get absolutely roasted alive by prochoice, proabortion (and there are two kinds) and prolife folks equally most times.

It is terrifying to think of the destructive nature of pro-abortion people when they are faced with a woman who changed her mind and now regrets her abortion. They attack us with the most vile hatred. By so doing, they prove they are not really prochoice at all.

Anyone who has a problem, small or big, with women (and men) who regret their (involvement in) abortions, has just proven that they are indeed pro-abortion and not pro-choice.

And that, readers, includes most of the mainstream media, most Democrats and Democrat politicians, far too many Catholics and other Christians, and a handful of so-called Republicans.

THOSE folks, the ones who cannot stand and will not allow the public to hear about us women and men who regret our abortions, certainly not in the same way they make sure the public hears all about what the abortion advocates have to tell us, THOSE folks, are the ones who must be called to task most.

If you only stood with those brave, kind souls who make up 99.9% of the sidewalk counselors who actually help the women survive, when they change their minds and don't go in to abort, when you stand with them out there as I have, and then go home and weep over the ones who didn't listen, THEN, David, maybe you will understand how much is really being done and how much the society we live in blacklists all that news.

Please educate yourself, David, on the many, many things being done, by the CPCs both for the women and children, and legally, by the pro bono law firms, by Norma McCorvey herself, by all the postabortive recovery groups worldwide.

I could go on and on and on.

BIRTHMOM, thank you for speaking up about your experience with being raped and allowing your child to live and be adopted. It is true that so many of those who use this supposed abortion defense argument have never checked what raped women actually feel.

I'm still looking for the original post by Rachael that we linked to back in 2005, but at least here is the discussion about this very topic that ensued. It's full of more information on this phenomenon of how women feel after being raped, some choosing abortion, some feeling duped into choosing it, others not choosing it.

Rachael, if you're reading this, did you move your blog and its posts to another URL?

In that combox, we heard from "Susan G" about her rape experience, and from Julie who wrote that "my mother was a rape victim at the age of thirteen. Twenty years later, when she sought an abortion for an unwanted pregnancy, she screamed throughout the procedure and had to be held down by nurses. She didn't have to say she was reliving her rape; she looked it during the retelling."

Those who support abortin in the case of rape never probably ever gave that a thought.

But some surveys have found that many women do relive their rape experience during an abortion.

Imagine most of our society telling women they should HAVE to relive that experience by getting an abortion? Imagine the pressure??

Unless one has been raped, I don't think any of us can ever imagine what it's like to think about how similarly vulnerable the abortion experience is to that, even if it is supposedly a conscious choice. It's still physically vulnerable. The only way I survived my abortion was to deaden myself for over 20 years, starting with the exact moment I was up on that table spreading my legs for the male abortionist when I really, truly, didn't want to be there, and really truly didn't even think it was happening to me.

We've been putting out all this kind of information for at least the past 3 years, including this post, Hope After Rape; Life After Rape: "The Face of the 'Rape Exception'"

Here is the info on the surveys about women who have been raped:

In 1981, Dr. Sandra Mahkorn conducted the first major research of pregnant rape victims. She found that 75 to 85 percent chose against abortion."

For those skeptics who don't like prolife sources, then go here: Mahkorn, "Pregnancy and Sexual Assault," The Psychological Aspects of Abortion, eds. Mall & Watts, (Washington, D.C., University Publications of America, 1979) 55-69.

Julie Makimaa is a so-called "Product of rape" who has done much to bust the myth about abortion being the best choice for rape victims.

She "compiled, Victims and Victors: Speaking Out About Their Pregnancies, Abortions, and Children Resulting from Sexual Assault. The book uses the combined experiences of 264 women and children and provides a definitive response to the argument for abortion in assault pregnancies."

"She has testified before a number of state legislatures, lobbied Congress and appeared on numerous radio and television talk shows, including Donahue, Geraldo and Sally Jesse Raphael. Her story has appeared in many national newspapers and magazines, including the Los Angeles Times and Washington Times and Glamour."

Christina Dunigan also has summarized some of these facts well in this article.

Since then, apparently, so has at least one other:

"Professor Stephen Krason points out that "psychological studies have shown that, when given the proper support, most pregnant rape victims progressively change their attitudes about their unborn child from something repulsive to someone who is innocent and uniquely worthwhile."

That leads to this footnote: "Krason, 284. For an overview of the research, see Sandra Kathleen Mahkorn, "Pregnancy and Sexual
Assault," in David Mall and Walter F. Watts, M.D., The Psychological Aspects of Abortion (Washington, D.C.: University Publications of America, 1979), 67-68."

Also in that PDF file: "Dr. Stephen Krason writes: "A number of studies have shown that pregnancy resulting from rape is very uncommon. One, looking at 2190 victims, reported pregnancy in only 0.6 percent." (Abortion: Politics, Morality, and the Constitution, book published in 1984 [Lanham, MD: University Press of America, 1984], 283.)

I'm resurrecting an account of an experience I had several years ago and will post it sometime soon on this blog and on the AfterAbortion blog, so stay tuned.

Hey birthmom... you should add me to your facebook! You can find me under my name: Gingi Edmonds

Also, if you'd like, you can subscribe to my ProLife Opinion Columns at www.gingiedmonds.com ^_^

Annie and others who are interested, just over two years ago I changed blog hosts. The blog entry which Annie mentions can be found here in it's entireity, with comments, at my current blog.

Thank you everyone for the kind comments, I wish I had read over my comment at least once though for spelling errors! haha
I will add you on my facebook Gingi
Im listed under brooke bida, if i cant find you

And Annie B, thank you for the article you wrote citing my comment here, it was very informative to me aswell. I had never thought about the possibility abortion reliving the rape experience. It makes complete sense though. My story is really interesting how it all worked out. I learned so much about abortion, adoption, and birthmothers in such a short period of time.
I also had the "life threatening" birth they claim was reason not to ge through, but once again, they are wimps in my opinion. That story (www.thestoryofagirl.com/about)
My website is (thestoryofagirl.com) and (birthmommissions.com)
I'm going to read over the post from yesterday, because I remember a few comments I wanted to make their too, because that story was very interesting. I am going actually going next week to the TAL (Texas Alliance for Life) thing to learn hoew to Lobby! Inm very excited!

I feel Birth Mom's are the answer or theextra push the pro-life fight needs. Just most of us are too consumed with grief over the loss to do much, but I think the more women get active in saving more children's lives, the more it will help them and the defenseless.. (my Birth Mom Missions site is in progress)

thanks again.
This stuff just tears my hear apart. Drove by the clinic today and more cars than usual :(

Also to Annie B,
My Daughter's name is Annie and I'm of course, B. So I thought that was neat that you noticed my comment of all people! With me though anything similar to her I get excited about..haha.
