Phoenix Abortion Images are too Graphic

Advocates of abortion want minors to have unlimited access to taxpayer funded abortions without parental involvement. And, there is a constant barrage of horribly graphic images via newspaper, internet, movies and video games. Yet, a truck showing graphic images of abortion to Phoenix High School Students has caused an uproar.

The trucks are driven courtesy of the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform and are part of a national campaign "exposing the evil of abortion."  The Center explains ...

Abortion will continue to be trivialized as "the lesser of two evils," or as "a necessary evil," so long as it is allowed to remain an invisible abstraction. Pictures make it impossible for anyone with a shred of intellectual honesty to maintain the pretense that "it's not a baby" and "abortion is not an act of violence."
Note:  the photo above shows trucks similar to those reportedly used in Phoenix.

Pro-abortionists are desperate to conceal what they really believe in. That's why they use vague and deceitful language.

They say vague things like, "I believe in comprehensive reproductive health care." Someone not in touch with their devious ways might think they're talking about alleviating menstrual cramps.

If they spoke frankly and honestly it would defeat their purpose. Not too many people support, "I believe in sucking the brains out of live babies."

That's why showing what they believe in is so terrifying to pro-abortionsts.

When Abraham Lincoln was a young man he didn't think much of slavery. He didn't know slaves and didn't see them. Then he got work moving some cargo from IL to New Orleans. There he was repulsed by seeing people being bought and sold.

When William Wilburforce was battling the slave trade in the UK, he arranged a bunch of elite, powerful people to go on a short day cruise. Without telling them, he had the boat pull up along side a slave ship in port. It reeked of urine, feces, vomit and disease.

Our senses tell us much more vividly about the plight of our fellow man. That's why liberals so hate daylight shining on their brutal industry. They need to hide their slaughter.

Putting aside all the directly abortion-related concerns, I would worry such images are a potential traffic hazard - their purpose is to forceable grab the attention of people. People who may be in charge of a ton of metal moving at speed.

I'm not singling them out, I have exactly the same concern about commercial advertising. Driveing takes concentration, putting anything in view of drivers which is designed to steal that attention is just inviting an accident.

As a workaround, I suggest the trucks be fitted with covering flaps that will keep the images out of sight while on the road, but which can be removed to expose the message once it's in position and out of heavy traffic. A minor concession, but it's better than being blamed by a driver who is so shocked by the image they don't notice the pedestrian they are about to hit.

The outrage of the school and parents is a different matter entirely, that I won't try to address here as I can predict how the argument will go.

I am a very devout christian whom wouldn't herself have an abortion, at the same time, I have not had the pleasure of bearing a child either...That doesn't mean I would if I ever had the chance nor does it mean that I have too...I still have a choice. For Decades this has been an issue but what is the differance in commercial advertising on a truck, than commercial advertising on the side of a major highway? Our young are still seeing things we would rather teach them at home. Redbull commercials that use sexual innuendoes, the tobacco commercials that give the blunt reasons to NOT smoke, Cartoons for God sakes that are really animated from an adults point of view... not a childs!!! Before we pounce on these abortion bulletins, ask ourselves why is it all of a sudden becoming more apparent? Is it because we have an African-American as President who is not against a woman having the Choice? Where was the uproar before Obama won the race? Priests asking their congregation to repent for voting for him because of this.... I think we as Americans have fallen off the patriotic ban wagon... Who cares if someone took the initiative to use their freedom of speech... This is America isn't it or have I been teleported to the 'twighlight zone'... let's get our troops home first before we get upset because someone decided to say " hey, i disagree with abortion, I want the world to know.. I think i will use my FREEDOM OF SPEECH to let people know what I feel". Where are the CNN and MSNBC clips for all the other aspects of this society that is teaching Good and BAD to our children? The only reason this certain situation has the attention it does right now is becuase we have a president of a differant color. Stop feeding into this crap, support your president like we did BUSH and get over it. Remember this country is still free... stop complaining about what we have the right to do when their are people in a world bigger than america that don't have the option(s) we have... at all.

I see it as the generation that supported abortion rights it now reaping what they sow...
they've created this culture of death, which is affecting their children. Now people just want this young generation to see how morally wrong abortion is.

Pictures of aborted children and movies of aborted children and the abortion process, gives people an awareness as to what is going on.

IF something (legal surgical procedure) is so graphic and disgusting that children shouldn't have to see it. Maybe we shouldn't tolerate it?
After all those are children in the pictures. Does anyone care about those children and their rights or feelings?

No culture of death except maybe Bush's wars and killings of hundreds of thousanda of people, spending 10 billion a month to do it.

Terri: What "horrible possibilities"? Stopping a senseless war, bringing our kids home alive for a change, keeping people from losing their homes, saving jobs we've lost by the thousands? I'll take that.

Lou: No vague language, but not blood, guts and gore. I can show you pictures of brain surgery that would turn YOU on.

Will we stop war if we're at a field hospital watching what comes in? Or auto accidents if at the local emergency for a couple days? Will we never have surgery if we see one? Think of what a mother goes thru with 2 days of labor and a delivery. She'll do it again you know.

To stop abortions, stop pregnancy. Not complicated, don't have sex. If you're a guy and you've slept with more than your now wife, you're possibly guilty of an abortion.

Most abortions are on unmarried women (82%), and 50% are on women under 25 (with 17% being teens). It's education, education, education. Then comes contraception. Get the Church out of the way if you want to stop abortions. People have had sex and abortions for centuries. So, get them educated on what, how, what happens then, what prevents, how do I use it, and where do I get it. Try for abstinence, but don't bet on that.

Pictures won't do it as 87% are done in the first trimester, but education will do it, but not just shock treatment on a highway. Show the pictures along with the education and you may stop SOME abortions.

Change we can believe in:
- GWB gets to pick Obama's Defense secretary.
- Obama's VP voted for the Iraq war, hysterically called Bush's war.
- Obama's Secretary of State voted for Bush's war.

Whatever happened to immediate withdrawal from Iraq? Only an idiot would do that or believe it.

"The best way to protect our security and to pressure Iraq's leaders to resolve their civil war is to immediately begin to remove our combat troops. Not in six months or one year - NOW." BO, 09/12/07

Before a baby reaches second trimester she has a nose, mouth, eyes and ears. She has fingernails and toenails. She has her very own fingerprints. She kicks and waves her arms. She sucks her thumbs. She has a beating heart, at least until a pro-choice surgeon exercises her right to slaughter and rips it out.

Actually Obama didn't really vote for the Iraqi war resolution, but we all see your point. That isn't real CHANGE. There are war hawks in his proposed military cabinet. This version of CHANGE is similar to Orwellian doublespeak.

Keep the stereotypes coming. The same ones claiming tolerance of views are the same ones using false stereotypes in an attempt to intimidate pro-life people. Also, Pro-Lifers have used a multiple amount of tactics and policies for thousands of years in assisting women (and fighting against abortion) from education, protests, literature, etc. No, we aren't vampires. We're sensible human being who won't downplay what abortion really is. We're people with strength, intelligence, and perservance in our will. We're people dedicated to the right to life from birth to death. We're people who will never be swayed by any form of faulty propaganda. We are people who really have a sense of reality and the determination to promote the right to life (irrespective if someone wants to write 50 pages of information in this site or not).

Notice how hysterical pro-abortionists become when abortion is described in plain, easily understood language. They are masters of deceit. They describe a "constitutional right" that is only in their heads, not on paper. The dismembered body of a little human is a "product of conception." A clinic where the primary job is to execute little human beings is called a "health care facility." A person who spends their days shredding little human beings into pieces is called a "health care provider."

Proponents of slavery called it a "pecuilar institution." Like proponents of abortion, they desperately tried to hide their nastiness.

KIT: You got it right vampires. Mostly I figure they're on drugs or a long drunk. Mostly repetitive garbage.
Problem is most folks who don't want abortions hit it at the wrong end, at the abortion clinic. They blame everyone, even Obama who hasn't taken office as yet, but they, themselves are the cause.
Here's how it works: people have sex...men and women. Some women get pregnant and in some cases, a child isn't wanted, by one or both parties (a man who sleeps with a woman and doesn't bother to find out if she ever gets pregnant is as guilty of abortion as the woman who has one).
Here's how it should work: Young folks are educated about what happens after sex...sometimes a baby. They are told don't do it till you're married and ready to raise a child, but that usually means nothing at 2am. So they need education in prevention of pregnancy: birth control. How to get it, when and how to use it.
People like Timothy and Lou aren't interested in abortion one way or another. They like yelling stupid things (and generally repeat word for word the same stuff in blog after blog). They have no interest in trying to solve the abortion problem, but care only about themselves. Soothes a guilty conscience I guess to produce all the gory writing.
I respect those who really care about kids, and try to educate to prevent the pain of abortion to the mother and child. But I have no respect for what people like Lou and Timothy do as they just turn people off.

I do thank Marylin for the display of non-tolerance for those that disagree with her views on abortion. People like us are not on drugs at all. I don't blame everyone at all for the abortion epidemic in America. We certainly don't need the definition about pregnancy and childbirth. We realize what pregnancy consists of. We have a fundamental disagreement about warranted children. Our side believes that destroying a babies' life isn't apart of the expression of the freedom of choice. Adoption (that can make a child to possess the possibility to live a great life and make great contributions in this Earth) and other alternatives can be achieved to assist a mother who don't wish to take care of the child in the first place. Also, we're not vampires. That's a lie by you. I'm definitely into solving abortion issues. I've been advocating education and other solutions in many posts.

That's another falsehood made by you. For many years, I written about this subject in elaborate terms. Explaining the gory nature of abortion is legitimate. The reason is that it exposes abortion as murder. Abortion isn't having a simple surgery. In essence, abortion destroys human life, can create mental health problems for women, and it sheds innocent blood. If you can't accept that reality, that is your problem.

I wish Roe would of never existed since it divided Americans and complicated matters involving the issue of abortion. I do have an interest in solving the abortion crisis in the world. You should really read what we mention instead of lying about what we say. You have no respect for people like me and Lou. That's fine. I still have tolerance for your right to express your views even though you display no true tolerance to me (and others) at all.

TIMMY & LOUISE....you have never written about abortion in "elaborate terms" I don't take issue with what you may or may not believe, but the way you keep calling all people who don't agree with you names, try the gore and guts when you know it doesn't work (why put it on a pro life blog, who are you writing TO?), don't write coherently half the time, like someone on drugs or drunk, can't or won't read what someone actually says but take off on what you want to believe they said. I'd suggest a writing course and a reading comprehension course.
For instance: what are "warranted children" that you wrote?
You two certainly don't advocate "education" to solve abortion. I remember the statement, that education "couldn't cure lust"....then it could cure murder, but you guys say abortion is murder, so obviously it could "cure" abortion....but then, I was talking about education in the use of contraception....so no reading comprehension on you're collective part.
You guys slam liberals (who are not at fault), ignore the deaths, some 10 million abortions while Bush was in. While blaming liberals you won't respond to the fact that RvW was voted in by 5 Republican presidential appointees to the Supreme Court. Why do you avoid this fact?
No, I have not lied, nor have the others I see on the blogs who have caught on to you. But talking to you is like talking to mushy spaghetti.

50% of abortions are done on women who have been using a contraceptive.
The death industry led by Planned parenthood has lied to you about this, too. Contraceptives promote promiscuity and further the erosion of the sanctity of life.

As for the war in Iraq, it is not a morally equivalent argument. I am against the war, too. 4,000 babies per day in America are surgically aborted and never in history has more "education" and contraception been available.

Returning to God as a people and turning against mass-consumerism is the only thing that will save America from the deplorable position in which we have placed ourselves.

Anonymous
Does your statement means that the use of contraceptive and sex education should be abandon. Killing is killing no matter where , how,or for what reason.it is more morally equivalent since a live human is killed. otherwise it may not be true of the unborn.
What's wrong with sex for the sake of sex if it's done in a protective manner?
Your solution would be to spay and neuter all newborns. That certainly would reduce this overcrowded planet and reduce our taxes Do you really think that God is that unkind? What kind of a God is this.
It was you evangilicals that put Bush in the white house and screwed up the USA. It wasn't mass-consumerism. Will God return to fix the mess?
the rapture???

To Anon: Sorry you're so unsure of your argument you're afraid to use your name.
Why no answer on the RvW and who put that in?
Moral equivalent? Death is death, and killing is killing. Death in a war (est. from Britain was 650,000 as of last year) in Iraq, is as much murder as death when someone shoots kids in college or high school, or when a parent beats a baby or toddler to death (you'd be surprised at all those non-aborted, but unwanted babies lives!)
PP doesn't supply me any information, but the % was 54% had abortions who had used contraceptives! But, and you should always read the whole thing, many had not used them consistently, many had not used them correctly...and that is where education on how, when to use, where to get, availability, etc., comes in.
As to consumerism: what does that have to do with sex?
Back to God? Let's see isn't he the one who has more abortions than anyone...spontaneous abortions. Also, God, if there is one would be classed as the most cruel! Why? Think of the FOOD CHAIN. The bigger animals rip the smaller to shreads then eat them. The coyote eats the rabbit and mouse. The wolf eats the elk, moose, deer and anything else walking or crawling. The lion munches a tasty gazelle. Man didn't create that, and it isn't consumerism. If your God were out of the picture and man made responsible for his actions (no confessions, walk away free bit), then he might think more than twice about what happens to his fellow man. No more "lets go to war in God's name", or a "holy war" or a "crusade" (really cruel part of the history of your God).
Face it, abortions went on before RvW, and they will go on after. I'm old. I knew of 3 before 73, after the fact, but found out: One a couple who lived thru the Nazi death camps, one a relative, and one a friend. Who would you like to blame for that?
