With the election complete, one would have thought the immature and ridiculous attacks on Sarah Palin based upon anonymous sources would have ended (more on the leakers here and here). Surely when reporting outlandish claims Palin should be allowed to respond in context. However, Newsweek drones on ... and one of many allegations states:
The day of the third debate, Palin refused to go onstage with New Hampshire GOP Sen. John Sununu and Jeb Bradley, a New Hampshire congressman running for the Senate, because they were pro-choice and because Bradley opposed drilling in Alaska. The McCain campaign ordered her onstage at the next campaign stop, but she refused to acknowledge the two Republican candidates standing behind her.
The Weekly Standard points out what should be obvious:
So according to the hatchet man/woman who talked to Newsweek, Palin is such an ideologue about drilling in ANWR that she won't stand next to Bradley, even though John McCain has the exact same position?
And, the Standard notes that John Sununu has a 100 percent pro-life rating from the National Right to Life Committee:
Glad to see that whoever leaked this story is too dumb to come up with a plausible smear. And kudos to Newsweek for dumping this whopper without bothering to check if Sununu is in fact pro-abortion.
Oh, and by the way, Jeb Bradley isn't running for U.S. Senate, as Newsweek reports. Perhaps they might want to check out Wikipedia before publishing the next batch of Palin smears.
A note for the record: I introduced Sununu at a Susan B. Anthony list event about a month ago -- they only support pro-life candidates.
Note that top McCain aides are now denying a number of the other unsubstantiated but reported claims.

Excellent digging. I'm saving this URL for 2012. All this crap proves McCain either surrounded himself with the wrong advisors or he himself is the culprit, if he's in any way linked to letting this B.S. "leak." Palin will be vindicated. If she did in fact try to buck or even just disagree with Mac's advisers on some things, I admire her even more. I do think she needs to do things on her own terms, including broaden her scope of subject matter expertise to a national/international level, but given her recent strong and deep treatment of the energy issue, she's certainly capable of this. If, that is, she wants it.
John McCain, I'm quite sure, is not reading this blog, but if he had anything to do with letting those yahoos throw Palin under the bus, it was a huge mistake for him and for the GOP machine. It was a huge mistake for any GOPer to do this.
It will be interesting to see who the anonymous source(s) is and what their motivations were in attacking Palin's character.
Interestingly, I've heard some speculation that Palin could run for the Senate which could enhance her national exposure.
As far as I'm concerned, most of the mainstream media has sunk to the level of the National Enquirer. That is the type of journalism they have been doing these day regarding Sarah Palin. I have totally lost my respect for the mainstream media.
The "anonymous" workers coming out and saying all this garbage about Palin are just sore losers. And they are a bunch of cowards..if you are going to come out and slaughter someone's character, atleast have the balls to put your name on it. Cowards. McCain's advisers can't take any responsibility for their own mistakes so they feel they must find someone to blame...and how easy to pick on Palin. The liberal MSM illuminati have been doing it for months now.
What do you expect. These cowards use Palin as the scapegoat.
I am SOOO glad she is speaking up and not mincing words about the brutal treatment. Rebutting back all the trash-talking and lies is exactly what she should be doing and is doing. It's exactly what McCain should have done, and didn't.
Go listen to her here (but skip the stupid "frantically sorting through her clothes" B.S. from the talking blonde head at the beginning)... (I'm blonde, I can say that).
An accompanying article and video is here. (although I do think she has to drop the "I'm, like" phrases)
Anyone who believes what the majority of the left-biased mainstream media tells them in regard to ANYTHING, is suspect. Information about Sarah Palin included. So Democrats and indies for Obama, deal with it.
