Among Tuesday's disappointing votes was the approval of Initiative 1000 in Washington State. The ballot measure sought to allow those considered terminally ill to commit suicide via a prescribed lethal medication.
There are many reasons for the loss having to do with the overwhelming financial backing from all around the world in favor of assisted suicide, to a popular former governor as spokesperson, an in-the-tank media that were full cheerleaders for the pro side, to a local campaign in opposition that was, to put it politely, very disappointing in its vision, imagination, and execution.[snip]
Anyone who still says "it can't happen here," isn't paying attention. It is happening here, and it will happen here increasingly unless there is a greater commitment shown by those with means who oppose these agendas to reversing the current course.

I think it is great that they passed this measure. I watched My brother die from liver failure. It would have ended His needless suffering if He had assisted suicide. They put dogs a sleep when they are suffering, why not people?
What's wrong with the right to die when you need to? And someone please tell me why Smith is so concerned about it?
I've seen people left in pain for months to eventually die. To me, that is torture, so someone who opposes the ill person's right to die is no better than someone who tortures other people. If this world is left to these weird so called religious nuts, soon all aspects of life will be conrolled by them.
