Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes
Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter
And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her "house," even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!
Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.
Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we "gave" one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)
The first link at top gives multiple links, to the original Zogby article, how he's been attacked for it and has had to defend the poll's accuracy and reliability.
The facts are these: this is newsworthy, it's valid information that all American citizens should be aware of, and trying to attack and dismiss it is nothing short of a violation of freedom of speech and freedom of the press.
And does anyone honestly, really think that, had McCain won, Russia would have "announced plans to deploy missiles...between Poland and Lithuania [and] jam U.S. radar", or that Al-Qaida's #2 terrorist would have insulted a President McCain in any remotely equally horrible way as he just insulted Obama? ("Al-Qaida supplied English subtitles of [the] speech that included the translation as 'house negroes.'")
This is precisely why all the predominant terrorists wanted Obama to win: because they don't take him seriously.

Let's just face it, those people were ignorant. If someone asks you what party controls Congress you have a 50% chance of getting it right. They were wrong more often than if they's guessed.

I think it's far worse than the poll pointed out. Those questions were about current events. The ignorance about our democratic foundations is likely much worse. What if they'd have asked:
- How many branches of government do we have? What are they?
- What is the Bill of Rights? Identify one of them.
- How many Senators in (pick a state)?
- What is the electoral college?
- How many justices on the supreme court? What kind of cases do they hear?
- What is the term limit on Presidents?
- What is the term limit on Senators and Representatives?
- Name one of more requirements to be President identified in the Constitution.
I think we'd find massive ignorance and not just among BHO's voters.

Well here id the difference, those polled were normal americans. Sarah palin was running to be our vice president and was a heartbeat away from being the commander and chief. So she dident even know what her job was. She was asked what does the VP do and she said. "Well they are in charge of the senate and they get in there and make a lot of good policy changes." The VP is has 1 vote in the event of a tie and is first i line upon the presidents secussion or death.

According to an ABC article, "The vice president can also preside over floor debate in the Senate -- a role usually filled by the Senate president pro tempore, and more often done by first-term senators."
And isn't it interesting that when Joe Biden also said that he, as also reported by that same ABC story, "would seek to use his role as vice president to work actively with the Senate," not one Obama supporter has any. problem. with. that. whatsoever.
She explained her statement and what the Constitution allows the VP to do in much the same terms as Biden described. You don't know that either.
She misused the words "in charge" when she should have said "is President of the Senate."

Obama has said some rather stupid things that I suppose his voters could relate to.
- There are 57 United States.
- A child with asthma needs a breathalyser.
- Claimed that 10,000 people were killed in a tornado that really killed about a dozen.
- Claimed that H. Clinton won the Kentucky primary because she's from a nearby state, Arkansas, and he isn't. Illinois borders Kentucky. Arkansas doesn't.

It was the Charlie Gibson interview you refer to, and this proves, again, you don't know what you're talking about. Here are 2 links to the entire UNEDITED transcript (ABC interview, showing how they "edited out crucial portions of the interview that showed Palin as knowledgeable or presented her answers out of context"), plus an excerpt:
GIBSON: Do you agree with the Bush doctrine?
PALIN: In what respect, Charlie?
She was NOT asked "what is the Bush Administration" she was asked about "the Bush Doctrine."
And she was absolutely right to ask Gibson that question back, because Gibson's was a trick question:
"...there are four definitions of the Bush Doctrine, which evolved over the course of President Bush’s time in office."
And "there are currently at least six elements of the Bush Doctrine listed on Wikipedia."
"No higher authority than Jacob Weisberg of Slate has counted six versions of the thing (including "absence of any functioning doctrine at all")."

Go read for yourself how many times that phrase has morphed and been edited and how there was no one answer and that Gibson KNEW this. He and ABC tried to trick Palin into looking stupid, and then edited out the parts that proved she was NOT stupid. Even left-leaning talking heads have disparaged ABC and Gibson for doing this.
If someone tried to do that, purposely, to Obama, the uproar and cries of "Racist!" would never end.

Palin herself said that she didn't blink when she was offered the VP job, and then later said she didn't know what a VP does. Go do your research on that one and tell me what part I got wrong.
The questions were confusing only to those who didn't know the subject matter. To informed voters, they were very simple questions.
Asking which party controls congress is about as simple and straight forward a question as possible. It could not have been made more simple to accommodate Obama voters. A chimpanzee flipping a coin would do better.
