"For Obama, whether or not a temporarily-alive-outside-the-womb little girl is a "person" entitled to constitutional rights is not determined by her humanity, her age or even her place in space relative to her mother's uterus. It is determined by a whether a doctor has been trying to kill her."
Read how Obama, the sole opponent in this debate, singlehandedly fabricates the impossible definition of a "pre-viable fetus," even though "by definition, a born baby cannot be a 'fetus.'" He also bends himself in half creating the term "temporarily alive human being."
"Is there another type of human?"
To any remaining Catholics, especially, still thinking of voting for Obama:
"A nation that kills its children is a nation without hope."
~ Pope John Paul II

Well, the law in Illinois defined the legal status of a baby who survived an abortion based entirely on whether or not the abortionist figured the baby would survive. If he predicted that the baby would not survive, then LEGALLY it wasn't a baby, it was a "pre-viable fetus". Something Obama knew and understood and supports. Doesn't matter if it's full term and weighs nine pounds and is bellowing his lungs out, he's a "pre-viable fetus" if he was born as the result of an attempted abortion.
The BAIPA tried to fix that, but it has no teeth so it's not being enforced.
The definition of what constitutes a person is extremely important and yet unknown by Barack Obama (i.e., "above my paygrade"). Our founding fathers presumed that personhood is intrinsic, a product of being human. Through time this definition has eroded to the absurd as pointed out in this excellent post.
I watched an interesting movie last night ("Come What May", filmed at Patrick Henry College). While the movie was low-budget and the actors were novices, the message was strong.
One thing that especially caught my attention is this: Life is not incremental. It happens in an instant, at conception.
One other thing that I found interesting was this: The very fact that Roe was premised on a "viability" analysis reveals the fact that life already exists at the point of conception. This is because "viability" is defined as the moment after which a baby can SURVIVE outside the womb. The word "survival" implies that there is something alive to begin with.
Interesting, isn't it?
