Dr. Charmaine Yoest, President and CEO of Americans United for Life (and pro-life blogger extraordinaire), issued the following statement in response to news that the daughter of McCain running mate Sarah Palin is pregnant:
"As the mother of five children, I know this situation is not the ideal Sarah Palin wished for her daughter.But the way we react to life's challenges is the true testament to our character. The Palin family is displaying courage and constancy.
We join them in welcoming this new life. Our prayers are with the entire Palin family as they deal with this in the intense glare of the media spotlight."

Fornication as the "ultimate sin"? I'd rate murder a whole lot worse. How do expect parents to "insure" purity?

That's not 'straight talk' - just obscene hostility. Would you be calling her a 'slut' if she'd covered up her pregnancy by getting an abortion?

Ensuring LIFE for your children is a basic parental task. By choosing to not hide this by killing the baby, they have protected their daughter and grandchild from the fatal danger of abortion.

People- you are talking about a child!!! A 17 year old. slut? Sinner? I hope nobody talks about my daughters that way. Ever.
However, that being said, shame on Sarah Palin. She brought this on her own daughter. First, she was running around for her job instead of being aware of what is happening in her own family. Now, she is smearing her poor daughter all over the news because all she cares about is winning. And how in God's name is she breast-feeding, and nurturing her young infant with Down syndrome as she is running around campaigning?
I don't know if I can bring myself to vote democrat, so I've decided not to vote at all.
