[Like] many of us Christians who deeply lament the unbiblical support from our brothers and sisters of offensive war, murder, lying and blasphemy - and those who have sold themselves out to John McCain's "evil" because it is "less evil" than Barack Obama's "evil" has decided to embrace a genuinely Christian candidate in Chuck Baldwin. From the pastor himself:
For one thing, a sizeable number of believers allowed President George W. Bush to redefine their Christian principles almost out of existence. They willingly looked the other way while Bush betrayed his word (not to mention the Constitution) and catapulted conservative principles into outer darkness. To the point, that they can now even support someone as liberal as John McCain and still call him a "conservative."
I will say it straight out: any Christian or conservative who supports John McCain has no principles left worth defending!
...How could Christians sacrifice their principles and convictions so easily? How could they be so willing to surrender their loyalties-both to Christ as the organic Sovereign of this land, and to constitutional government, which is, itself, built on Biblical principles?
...
There it is: countless millions of professing Christians will eagerly abandon their commitment to constitutional government and Biblical principles in order to accommodate a Republican Presidential candidate. In the minds of many Christians, the Republican Party is more important than the U.S. Constitution. It is more important than conservative principles or even Biblical injunctions. In essence, the Republican Party has become an IDOL in the hearts and minds of many professing believers.
So, how can we ask God to bless America when God's children have set up the groves of idolatry in their hearts? How can we expect God to heal our land when Christian pastors, Sunday School teachers, deacons, ushers, and faithful church members place more loyalty and allegiance in a political party than they do in the very Word and principles of God?
As surely as the pagans of the Old Testament worshipped before the gods of Baal and Ashteroth, many Christians worship before the GOP. They are willing to sacrifice their children to the policies and practices of unscrupulous, evil politicians-as long as they have an "R" behind their names.

Wow, Chuck Baldwin really spoke boldly to people of the Christian faith (as this is who his message is directed to). He is very passionate in this message. I'm not sure what to make of this message, though.
It has a condemning tone, which may have been his intention though I hope Christians see it as more of a challenge of their political beliefs. Because there are Christians who think that we need to be out in the world and that the war was justified and that wall-street needs bail outs. But there is a larger contingency of Christians (at least in my community), that feels that a vote McCain will spare us an Obama presidency.
I personally agree with Chuck Baldwin. I recently had a friend ask me if I'd rather kill someone or if I'd rather steal a stick of gum, if you do neither, you die. He equated this to the presidential election when I had asked him if he would vote for the lesser of two evils. Pitiful arguments such as these annoy me far more then a liberal ever could. What would Jesus do? I cliche by today's standards, the actual question applies here. Would He kill someone or steal a pack of gum? He would do neither, of course, and likely die. He would die for what was right, even if it was over a pack of gum.
So why wouldn't we try to do what we think Jesus would do when it comes to electing our leaders? Even if that means voting for McCain or Obama?
Chuck Baldwin has a good philosophy and I think would make a good president. Unfortunately, he has zero chance of winning and therefore cannot do anything to stop the killing of unborn children or deal with and solve any of our difficult economic and social problems.
John McCain and Sarah Palin have many weaknesses, but they have a substantial chance of winning and have a fair chance of helping to overturn Roe vs. Wade and stop or at least reduce the killing of unborn children.
Chuch Baldwin will NEVER be able to make good Supreme Court appointments, because he will never be given the opportunity. John McCain may end up making good Supreme Court appointments (no guarantees), especially if we hold his feet to the fire and refuse to accept the kind of weak appointments we got from Reagan and the first Bush, and that is the bottom line.
No matter what problems you may have with McCain (and I have many), the hard reality is that he is the ONLY candidate who gives us any hope at all of doing anything to stop the killing of unborn children. This is why, from a strategic standpoint, I urge ALL pro-life voters to vote ONLY for John McCain, Sarah Palin and pro-life Republican candidates for the House, Senate and state and local offices.
Thanks be to God that we have another standard bearer to stand up for the principals of freedom, prosperity and peace!
I wholeheartedly embrace the candidacy of Chuck Baldwin!
...
Kill or steal a pack of gum?
...
Are you kidding me, isn't it more like kill before they are born or or kill after they are born?
Have you forgot how many already living beings are being killed in the world in our name?
I posted this comment from the Ron Paul article originally. I accidently typed Chuck Baldwin's name in the name of the post as I copied the text from a Chuck Baldwin article. I was trying to attribute the words to Baldwin. I post under the nickname Chuck. I am not Chuck Baldwin, to clear up any misunderstanding.
Stork:
The question came from a friend who isn't politically inclined. The main reason I hear support for McCain over Obama, is court appointments. To him, it doesn't necessarily click that McCain may not appoint a "conservative" judge.
Joe,
If abortion is your biggest issue as it is with many evangelicals, then you should stop and take a good look at the past 30 years. The Supreme Court unconstitutionally forced the states to permit the murder of pre-born children. They unconstitutionally inserted themselves into an issue that is properly left to the states.
What dream world are loyal Republican voters living in to believe that magically the high court will overturn their decision? It is not that simple and it isn't even feasible.
Don't you see what a valuable wedge issue abortion is for the Republican establishment? The political alliance known as the Religious Right has snookered good, patriotic Christians into voting for them simply based on the hope that a Supreme Court justice would tip the scales and overturn Roe v. Wade. But the Republicans have had the majority in the Court for decades.
Republican leaders are not and have never been serious about ending abortion. The wedge issue is far too valuable for winning the Christian vote in every election. End it and what would they have to keep their voter base coming back and supporting them so the internationalist agenda can continue unchallenged?
If Republicans were serious about ending abortion, you would see all the Pro-life groups and RR groups clamouring to support Ron Paul's two pieces of legislation -- one that defines life, negating the effect of Roe v. Wade and the other to remove abortion from the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court. Both of these pieces of legislation would shift the issue back to the states who ALL had anti-abortion laws before Roe v. Wade.
So again, why are Republican leaders and alliances ignoring this very viable and Constitutional solution? I repeat, they don't seriously intend to end abortion because it is a valuable election tool.
As long as Christians continue to be led to believe that only overturning Roe v. Wade would end abortion, they will continue to vote in Republicans who use it as a political issue to get elected, but don't intend to do a darn thing about it.
Think about it Joe, you are being USED to allow the establishment agenda, which is destroying America, to continue unchallenged.
You are being fooled. And you are gladly carrying the torch for this farce.
People who claim Republicans care more about murdered babies than Democrats, ... or, who think McCain will make better SC choices than Obama, are the very "Christians" that pastor Baldwin is addressing in his statement.
Pro Life means allowing babies to live, and it also means not letting 18 year olds die in a war that is making the corrupt elite just richer. I never understood how Evangelicals clamor around the pro-life issue, but yet are so willing to send their children to war to die in this phony war on terror.
Wow, this guy is nuts. Worse, he is a scary nut. And Ron Paul wants us to vote for him? Are you kidding? Is this a sermon or a speech? So, are only Christians allowed in this country now? How egotistical. How unChristian.
I am an atheist and very proud of it. I do not believe in God. I think that people who do are delusional. I think this guy is very delusional.
Can you imagine the damage of letting this guy in the White House?
I love this comment: Pro Life means allowing babies to live, and it also means not letting 18 year olds die in a war.
But dying in an a backroom abortion clinic is fine?
Is there anyone here old enough to remember how women were butchered and how many died trying to get abortions before they were legal? Or are women not worth saving?
Who are any of you to tell a person what to do with their body? Are you going to force a child to be raped over and over and scarred for life? Are you that heartless? Because a large majority of people who get abortions are children who cannot consent to sex. But the life of the younger zygote trumps that of the nine year old who gets raped? (Don't tell me that nine year olds can't get pregnant. My niece sure as hell can.)
You are all so holy aren't you? You know what is best for everyone. You are willing to murder women in order to force your egotistical crap down their throats.
How dare you? You are the murderers. Go commit yourselves to hell.
You are so full of lies and stereotypes that I don't know where to begin. First, you lie and say that all Pro-Life people support life for the unborn, but support the Iraq war. That's a lie since many Pro-Life people support life and oppose the Iraq. You are a hypocrite by supporting the war in Afghanistan while criticize Pro-Lifers in general. Abortion is the murder of the unborn. Laws exist banning murder, rape, etc. So, it's legitimate to have laws banning a practice that sheds and murders innocent human beings. Chuck isn't a nut, because you may disagree with some his views, but promoting liberty is hardly nutty. Also, no one said that Christians should only live in America. There are back room rapes nationwide and we ban rape. Just because back room evils exist, doesn't justify laws against harming human beings should be non-existent. You create more reform to solve that problem.
Before 1973, abortion laws exist so it's a lie to say that abortion was banned before Roe. Innocent life should be equally perserved. Rapists should be punished not the innocent unborn babies. That should be enough, but you have a love for shed blood. You hypocritically claim tolerance, but outline believers in God as delusional. No one sad 9 years old should be pregnant, so you're using a non-sequitor. We aren't murderers. You support murder you liar. You committ us to Hell. I thought you didn't believe in God you hypocrite. That's why the truth is known. You only have emotionally on your side. We have history, scientific studies, research, 3-D ultrasound images, and the whole nine yards on our side.

And there it is, voting evil because it is the lesser of two evils.
Joe, please wake up. McCain writes gun-control bills! McCain worked with Kennedy for a bill to support amnesty for illegals.
McCain is a liberal Democrat in disguise and if you vote for this evil, please consider what the Republicans will push on you next time.
Chance of stopping the killing of unborn children by voting for Chuck Baldwin or another third party candidate: ZERO
Chance of stopping the killing of unborn children
by voting for John McCain: ABOVE ZERO
Case closed.
We wouldn't be in this situation if the Republican party had any leadership.
There is never going to be any real change in abortion rate until we dump the ONE PARTY SYSTEM that poses as TWO.
I'm voting Chuck Baldwin!
If anyone is serious about changing abortion, how about a Republican who is not a neo-con RINO.
Why does the leadership of the Republican party not support Ron Paul's Santity of Life bill?
See if you can get an answer from any Republican on that.
Chuck Baldwin is good but he CAN'T win. He cannot do anything for unborn children. He can't do anything to solve any of our problems.
Here's a scenario: the day before the election Obama leads McCain by overwhelming margins (80-20). Who would you vote for? McCain? What's the point? He can't win.
