According to the latest news, Pastor Rick Warren is going to ask Obama and McCain about abortion tonight during their appearance tonight at Saddleback, his mega church.
But what exactly is he going to ask them? And is he just going to simply toss some softball questions?
Now, what kind of questions can be considered softballs?
1. Asking if the candidates if they are for reducing abortion - who is going to admit, on the record, being against reducing the demand?
2. Asking how they plan to reduce abortion - you just know contraception is going to be touted as the solution to abortion, when history shows, at least among unmarried teens, contraception has only exacerbated the abortion problem.
3. Asking what they personally think about abortion - see #1 - who is going to admit they haven't seen an abortion they didn't like?
4. Asking if there is common ground on this issue - of course there is common ground, but based upon his record, Obama is not the candidate willing to actually find it, despite what he says.
Softballs aren't the only potential problem - so are "free passes" on the issue of abortion/infanticide. Here are some ways Warren can grant them...
1. Not asking about protecting our youngest and newest citizens - that is, infants who survive abortions but who are not offered any medical treatment or legal protection.
2. Not asking Obama to clarify his misrepresentation of his record regarding protecting infants born alive.
3. Not asking why our future President won't recognize infants who survive abortion as citizens - when indeed they are, abortion not withstanding.
4. Not asking why Obama is in favor of repealing every restriction on abortion, despite the fact they have helped to lower the rates?
5. Not asking McCain about his support for unethical stem cell research - enough said.
6. Not asking the candidates about taxpayer funded abortions.
The fact that Warren had to be cajoled into bringing up abortion is not a good sign at all. I would be surprised if all he does is toss some softballs and offer some free passes - but I'm hoping I'm wrong.

There is no question that Warren is a leftist to the core. McCain won't have a problem comepting for the top liberal position to please Warren. Obama is a given. Obama's after birth murder vote won't come up.
WHY YES TO MCCAIN & NO TO OBAMA ...
It's not that McCain was just a POW ... it's the fact that he was offered an early release by the enemy, after being tortured for 3 years. But, because John McCain had the honor, integrity, character, courage, and love of America, he chose to refuse a release that would be earlier than his fellow prisoners, resulting in his being imprisoned and tortured for an additional 2 1/2 years. In addition to that, he also served this country as a senator for 20 years. What has Obama done? ... He was a community organizer, who increased voter registration ... then, he took away the people's votes by disqualifying his opponents on technicalities. Next, he won the senate, due to a scandal by his opponent, Senator Jack Ryan. Furthermore, Obama is a junior senator, with no experience, who has spent half of his time in office running for President.
