If we are, as the saying goes, "judged by the company we keep," then Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius has blood all over her hands.

Blood Stained Hands

Bravo to Operation Rescue for exposing the fact that Sebelius hosted a hush-hush private party for late-term abortionist George Tiller, his staff and several other abortionists at her governor's mansion on April 9, 2007.

Kudos to the Associated Press and others who reported this story.

Kansas' governor, a Democratic vice-presidential possibility, schmoozed with the well-known abortionist and company even as Tiller was under investigation by the state's attorney general.

Photos from the gathering suggest a warm and fuzzy relationship between Sebelius, Tiller and the abortion industry.

Unborn Personhood on Colorado Ballot
PR Newswire
Article Last Updated: 05/29/2008 01:45:13 PM MDT

American RTL Elated at Historic Development
DENVER, May 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- "For the first time in forty years of 'legalized' child killing, pro-lifers have moved an entire state to consider the God-given right to life of the unborn," said Brian Rohrbough, president of American RTL. "We thank sponsor Kristi Burton of Colorado for Equal Rights, the 500 participating churches, and Colorado RTL for getting personhood on the November ballot."
Today the Colorado Secretary of State's office validated 103,000 signatures on human life petitions, 27,000 more than required to force a statewide vote. If passed, the Colorado constitution would define 'person' as "any human being from the moment of fertilization."
"Abortion is wrong because it's a baby; it's always wrong to intentionally kill a baby," said Rohrbough, "even when its father is a criminal, as with incest."
American RTL has launched its Colorado personhood campaign with a rebuttal to the so-called 'hard cases' of abortion for incest.
"The abortion clinic covers up the crime of incest, and typically sends the victim back home to her rapist," the group's website states. "Even worse, they often send her home with her rapist, the criminal who brought her to the clinic."
"There are no 'hard cases,'" said Steve Curtis, the group's vice president and former chair of the Colorado Republican Party. "Abortion for incest emboldens a criminal to rape his young relative, helps him escape being caught, tempts him to repeat his crime, and is not compassionate because it kills a baby and increases the woman's suffering." Rohrbough added, "Personhood for the unborn helps people understand there are no hard cases when deciding to protect a baby; you don't kill the baby because her father is a criminal."
"Abortion clinics nationwide refuse to comply with mandatory reporting laws for suspected child rape," said Jo Scott, director of Pro-Life Colorado. "We brought audio taped evidence provided by Life Dynamics of that failure to the Colorado attorney general's office, and they choose to look the other way; personhood for the unborn will reduce crimes against women and children."
"American RTL applauds the dozens of Colorado politicians and candidates who have publicly endorsed the personhood amendment," says AmericanRTL.org, "and urges all Christians, pro-life leaders and organizations to support personhood as the only foundation on which to reverse the de-criminalization of killing unborn children."

On Sunday, Sept. 28, the Alliance Defense Fund is planning a nationwide pastors' revolt to challenge an IRS tax code that has muzzled churches and pastors from expressing opinions on political candidates for over 50 years.

Challenged will be a 1954 change in the code called the Johnson Amendment, after then-Sen. Lyndon Johnson.

Johnson proposed the amendment to silence opponents to his second Senate race. Two nonprofit foundations were pouring money into a publicity campaign calling Johnson soft on communism.

There is no legislative history for the Johnson Amendment. According to the scant Senate record, then-Democrat Minority Leader Johnson stood up on the floor and proposed it as an attachment to an existing bill. After Johnson said the bill sponsor was in agreement, the presiding officer simply called for a voice vote. There was no debate....

ADF will challenge one specific part of the code....

On Sept. 28, approximately 50 pastors the ADF has chosen from volunteers nationwide will preach sermons to provoke the IRS on this point. This would immediately invoke a lawsuit that would find its way to the U.S. Supreme Court....

News of tragically-troubled celebrity Courtney Love's choice of life -- rather than abortion -- for her daughter 15 years ago tells many truths about a "woman's right to choose."

"Love Rejected Abort Pressure" the New York Post reported yesterday. That pressure came from Love's manager, her inner circle and a doctor who were all concerned about the rocker's "heroin use during pregnancy," according to Warner Bros. former CEO Danny Goldberg in his new book "Bumping Into Geniuses."

When the doctor attempted to coerce Love into aborting the then 6-week pregnancy for the safety sake of the baby, Love demanded the facts from the doctor:

Is that a medical fact, or is that just your opinion? I want to see it in a medical book. She was interested in medical facts, not a sermon. [He] sheepishly acknowledged that at this early stage of pregnancy a woman could discontinue heroin use with no physical or psychological damage to the fetus. Courtney looked triumphant as she towered over the doctor seated at his desk.

Born healthy, Frances Bean Cobain lives today because her mother asked the right question, quite using herion and refused to be pushed into having an abortion.

That's one less tragedy in Love's life.

The German Federation of Internal Medicine has awarded a former Nazi SS doctor, suspected of carrying out euthanasia. Dr. Hans-Joachim Sewering, 92, was honored for giving "unequalled services in the cause of freedom of the practice and the independence of the medical profession and to the nation's health system," according to the Federation.

American Jewish organizations previously have charged that Sewering killed 900 Jewish children at a euthanasia center. He has admitted to being part of the elite SS unit but has denied carrying out euthanasia

From the Family Research Council - I've added the links.

In a nutshell: Our government channels millions of tax dollars to Planned Parenthood - which makes huge profits year after year, even while presenting itself as a nonprofit organization. Meanwhile, pregnancy resource centers staffed by volunteers are turned down for government help. What a twisted world!

Here are 12 GOP leaders who want to write a death sentence to funding any alternatives to Planned Parenthood:

The GOP's Dirty Dozen

May 23, 2008

Yesterday, 12 Republicans, led by Rep. Mark Kirk (Ill.), quietly sent a letter to President Bush asking him to keep the current Title X regulations. The current rules bar pro-life groups from receiving Title X funds and allow groups like Planned Parenthood (PP) to use dollars to help keep their profitable abortion business viable.

The existing Title X policy was put in place by President Clinton, who overturned President Reagan's regulations which protected taxpayer monies by separating the supposedly clean side of PP's business (PAP and breast cancer screening, HIV testing, etc.) from the abortion side.

A large majority of Americans believe that the federal government should not be funding abortionists, yet that is exactly what President Clinton's regulations, which have been maintained by President George W. Bush, do.

If this Dirty Dozen were really serious about protecting the supposedly legitimate side of PP, they would welcome new regulations to protect those efforts.

In light of recent revelations that PP clinics across the nation have been involved in racism, defrauding taxpayers and complicit in the statutory rape of young girls, someone should ask these appeasers of abortion and bad government why they seek to shield potential criminal activity.

If President Bush fails to act, our future President should. These changes are necessary to protect women and to protect PP from itself.

Contact your congressmen if they appear in the following "Dirty Dozen" list and express your disappointment:

Christopher Shays (Conn.)
Kay Granger (Texas)
Jim Ramstad (Minn.)
Charlie Dent (Pa.)
Rodney Frelinghuysen (N.J.)
Ralph Regula (Ohio)

$10,000 Offer to National RTL From American RTL to Name 'One' Pro-Life Justice
PR Newswire
Article Last Updated: 05/21/2008 12:53:40 PM MDT

DENVER, May 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- "American Right To Life is offering attorney James Bopp $10,000 for National RTL," said the group's president Brian Rohrbough, "if he can name a single justice on the current U.S. Supreme Court who has ever acknowledged that the unborn child has a right to life, whether in a majority opinion or a dissent."

"A quarter century after Bopp and NRTL refused President Ronald Reagan's offer to work toward federalpersonhood legislation, they have long opposed all state personhood efforts," says the group's site AmericanRTL. HYPERLINK "http://americanrtl.org/" org.

On May 13, Colorado pro-lifers turned in 131,000 signatures exceeding by 55,000 the number needed to force a statewide vote to acknowledge in law the personhood of the unborn child.

"National Right to Life has misled the pro-life community to think that this is the wrong time to advocate personhood because we need one more Justice on the Supreme Court to have a pro-life majority," said Rohrbough. "But if we added a Justice who would uphold the right to life of the unborn, then we would haveonly one such Justice. The failed long-term strategy of regulating the killing of a fetus has left America without a single Justice who knows that it's wrong to kill an unborn baby; NRTL's compromise will never produce a pro-life court."

The United States Coast Guard reversed their decision to disallow Lt. Commander Joseph Healy from being exempt from the Hepatitus A vaccine. This victory shows that the issue of vaccines derived from killed (aborted) human beings is one that is still hotly debated, and that killing of human beings for research will not be accepted by all Americans.

NARAL Pro-Choice America's choice to endorse Barack Obama as the Democratic nominee for president, rather than Hillary Clinton, has proven to be a divisive issue -- for NARAL.

"Naral Picks Obama, and Uproar Breaks Out," reports the New York Times.

Why Barack and not old reliably abortion-friendly Hillary?

Nancy Keenan, NARAL's president, claimed that the endorsement's timing was necessary "because because Senator John McCain the presumptive Republican nominee, who opposes abortion rights, was getting a 'free ride.'"

The group's Political Director Elizabeth Shipp's comments on NARAL's choice are more telling:

Ms. Shipp also said there was a feeling that endorsing Mr. Obama at a high-profile juncture might help Naral shed its image as an organization for white women only.

What nonsense!

NARAL's wish to attract minorities is a response to growing awareness in the African-American community of the disproportionate number of abortions performed there.

Bravo to groups like the National Black Pro-Life Union, LEARN (Blackgenocide.org), ProLifeUnity, individuals like Alveda King and many others, who save lives by speaking truth to NARAL's power.

On Jan. 24, when the pro-abort divide between Clinton and Obama supporters was escalating into civil war, NARAL President Nancy Keenan issued an appeal for all sides to remain calm and focused on the real enemies, preborn children....

NARAL tried to redirect attention to the "staunchly, rigidly, undeniably anti-choice" Republican nominee John McCain in its almost daily e-alerts, which I receive.

But NARAL was unsuccessful. Thanks to sexier issues like Bosnia and Jeremiah Wright, the mainstream media didn't bite.

Meanwhile, the infighting continued. The Clinton camp kept pounding Obama as being soft on abortion because he voted "present" seven times as state senator on abortion legislation and because he wasn't a woman....

NARAL's endorsement of Obama last week came as a big shock, but it shouldn't have. NARAL has been clear it is watching a bigger clock tick.

Still, feminists were infuriated....

NARAL wants to rebrand, and riding Obama's coattails is one quick way. And oh, how NARAL wants Obama's list, to lure stupid abortion-inclined abortion survivors. It doesn't want to die as old pro-abort white women die.

The Obama campaign certainly shared polling data with NARAL, confirming its fears about McCain....

Dear Friends,

After five years of trying to promote outreach to abortion-minded (or vulnerable) parents as they enter or leave abortion facilities, I've decided to take a poll to determine the level of interest there is in seeing an increase in this particular form of pro-life activism (known to most people as sidewalk counseling).

It is my hope that we may be able to clear up any confusion some people may have about sidewalk counseling and possibly undo any damage that may have been caused by past experiences or hearsay. I also hope to determine how much support there may be in helping to promote this form of pro-life activism.

The number of people presently engaged is disappointingly very small. I continue to wonder what the reason for this is and I'm hoping that your input will help us improve the situation. My interest is in seeing a consortium of individuals engaged in this form of outreach 40+ hours per week, every week of the year, at every child-killing center in the world.

So I present to you the following questions even if you personally are unable (for whatever reasons) to become directly engaged in such activism:

What is your opinion of this kind of outreach?
How important do you think it is relative to other forms of pro-life activism?
How important do you think it is relative to other forms of Christian activism?
How would you describe it to others?
Have you ever been engaged in it and if so, in what way and for how long?
If you were once engaged and are no longer, why did you discontinue your involvement?
What positive and negative impressions or experiences have you personally had or heard of from others?
What would you like to see done differently?
What could be done to cause you to become involved?
From whom or where have you received most of your information about this kind of outreach?
What is it about that source or resource that causes you to trust its information and advice?
What are your concerns regarding this type of outreach based on your personal experiences or the testimony of others?

Note:
Sidewalk counseling is "reaching out" to mothers and fathers, who are contemplating or planning abortion, to offer them information that they have a need and right to know. It is conducted by way of conversation and literature. It is done with love and out of concern for unborn children who are in danger of being deprived of their God-given right to be born into the world and for their parents, especially mothers, who are in danger of being severely harmed in numerous ways.

Sidewalk counseling is conducted on public sidewalks outside abortion facilities on days that abortions are being committed and/or days when pre-abortion evaluations or pregnancy tests are provided.

Parents may be offered information about where to go for free pregnancy tests, counseling and practical assistance, as well as fetal development, adoption, abortion procedures, risks and side effects, and post-abortion counseling and healing.

Sidewalk counseling is about saving a child from certain death and his/her parents from certain harm, one family at a time.

Please e-mail your response to this poll to "hgpi @ prolifeamerica . com"

Thank you for your consideration and input.

NARAL Pro-Choice America snubbed their old pal, presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton. The abortion advocacy group endorsed her rival for the Democratic candidacy, BarackObama, for president.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton

One prominent abortion rights activist was not pleased with NARAL's tactics in aborting its support for Hillary and choosing Barack, the Star Tribune (via the Associated Press) reports:

Ellen Malcolm, president of EMILY's List, which helps elect female candidates who favor abortion rights, harshly criticized the endorsement.

"I think it is tremendously disrespectful to Senator Clinton -- who held up the nomination of an FDA commissioner in order to force approval of Plan B and who spoke so eloquently during the Supreme Court nomination about the importance of protecting Roe v. Wade -- to not give her the courtesy to finish the final three weeks of the primary process," Malcolm said in a statement. "It certainly must be disconcerting for elected leaders who stand up for reproductive rights and expect the choice community will stand with them."

PERSONHOOD AMENDMENT TO BE ON NOVEMBER BALLOT

Colorado for Equal Rights Submits Nearly Double Required Signatures

DENVER, COLORADO (13 May 2008) - Colorado for Equal Rights submitted 131,243 petition signatures to place the personhood amendment on the ballot this November, 55,000 more than is required. The amendment extends the legal definition of 'person' to include the moment of fertilization.

"We are seeing an awakening of the powerful grassroots movement," said Kristi Burton, spokesperson for Colorado for Equal Rights Campaign. "Thousands of individuals along with myself are making the commitment to not rest until every human being is equally protected by love and by law."

Colorado for Equal Rights enlisted the help of hundreds of churches and more than a thousand volunteers to collect the requisite number of signatures.

"The Grassroots of Colorado made this happen. But we could not have done this without the help of pro-life organizations, such as American Life League, Colorado Right to Life, Human Life International, and others who gave us a tremendous amount of support," said Burton. "We have an amazing amount of momentum and a dynamic support base. By November, we know that the citizens of Colorado will realize the personhood of every human being, born and preborn."

Colorado for Equal Rights is a statewide grassroots organization of concerned citizens who value human life. Colorado for Equal Rights is sponsoring the Human Life Amendment to the Colorado constitution, stating "(t)he term 'Person' or 'Persons' shall include any human from the time of fertilization." The Human Life Amendment initiative is currently working to gather petition signatures to place the Amendment on the November 2008 ballot.

The global warming issue leaves me cold.

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for conservation, recycling and such.

But what's the point of preserving the earth and its greenness for future inhabitants if humanity does not have the right to be born?

When did plant life grow to be more important than people?

Adam and Eve

Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain's new campaign advertisement "There's a Better Way," here on YouTube, touts his global warming credentials. (Fortunately McCain also has decent pro-life credentials unlike either of his possible opponents, Democratic Senators Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton.)

"We have an obligation to future generations to take action and fix it [global warming]," says McCain in the closing of his new ad.

Still, we have a more pressing obligation to future generations. First, we must fight for humanity's right to be born.

The Hand That Rocks The Cradle

Is the Hand That Rules the World

Blessings on the hand of women!
Angels guard its strength and grace,
In the palace, cottage, hovel,
Oh, no matter where the place;
Would that never storms assailed it,
Rainbows ever gently curled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.

Infancy's the tender fountain,
Power may with beauty flow,
Mother's first to guide the streamlets,
From them souls unresting grow--
Grow on for the good or evil,
Sunshine streamed or evil hurled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.

Woman, how divine your mission
Here upon our natal sod!
Keep, oh, keep the young heart open
Always to the breath of God!
All true trophies of the ages
Are from mother-love impearled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.

Blessings on the hand of women!
Fathers, sons, and daughters cry,
And the sacred song is mingled
With the worship in the sky--
Mingles where no tempest darkens,
Rainbows evermore are hurled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.

California citizens, reeling under their state government's rapid financial slide, are looking at Planned Parenthood's bloated budget and recently documented abuse of our federal and state grants abortion industry handouts and saying Enough is Enough.

As a 30-7ear resident of California (I returned to Virginia in 2002), I can verify the truth of the saying "As goes California so goes the nation." While this has always meant a destructive slide, some citizens of California are determined that this budget crisis may be perfect timing for finally overthrowing Planned Parenthood's grip on state finances.

Following is the beginning of an email I received last week from the Coalition to Eliminate Abortion Funding.

During this state budget crisis, when our family healthcare services and children's school programs are experiencing drastic spending cuts, California taxpayers request the Elimination of Abortion Funding, especially from Planned Parenthood, from our state budget.

The abortion industry does not need our tax dollars. As the nation's largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, reported $1 billion in income on its 2006-07 annual financial disclosure, with $114.8 million in profit and $1.12 billion in total assets (source: Planned Parenthood). One in four abortions is done by Planned Parenthood and this organization is very politically vulnerable due to several recent newsworthy concerns.

Planned Parenthood enjoys $336.7 million in government grants and contracts, representing one-third of their annual budget (American Life League). Planned Parenthood Federation President, Cecile Richards, receives nearly $1 million annual compensation (Washington Times) while teachers and librarians are being laid-off, music programs are being cut, and families go without healthcare!

Additionally, Planned Parenthood affiliates here in California, allegedly over-charged our state by at least $180 million dollars as described in this recent LA Times article. According to Victor Gonzalez, former vice president of finance and administration of the Los Angeles affiliate, he was fired for questioning Planned Parenthood's "illegal accounting, billing and donation practices". Planned Parenthood bought contraceptives at a discounted rate and then billed the state Medi-Cal program for 12 or more times the purchase price. An audit of the San Diego/Riverside Planned Parenthood clinic found $5 million in over billing charges in just two years. Very clearly, Planned Parenthood does not deserve our hard-earned taxpayer dollars!

'God's plan was well in place for these embryos, and that was a plan of adoption instead of destruction.'

After years of infertility and being diagnosed with premature ovarian failure, Marlene Strege of California began to explore adoption. Her doctor recommended embryo adoption, and she and her husband, John, posed the idea to longtime friend Ron Stoddart, executive director of Nightlight Christian Adoptions. Stoddart investigated the idea and eventually created the Snowflakes Embryo Adoption program.

After prayer and research, the Streges adopted a frozen embryo, and on Dec. 31, 1998, they became the proud parents of the world's first snowflake baby, Hannah.

Ten years after her first Mother's Day, Marlene Strege spoke with CitizenLink about the adoption of their little snowflake.

From yesterday's UK Telegraph - a Harvard professor declares that children ruin our chances at happiness:

Marriage without children the key to bliss
By Kate Devlin, Medical Correspondent
May 9, 2008

Married life is the key to happiness, but having children can ruin it all, an international conference has been told.

Couples only recover their former blissful existence once their offspring have left the nest, according to an expert on what creates joy.

Daniel Gilbert, professor of psychology at Harvard University, said studies across America and Europe had shown that while feelings of happiness spike during the early years of marriage, they fall heavily after having children.

He told a Happiness and its Causes conference in Sydney that parents' desire to get a return on the time and money they have invested in their children is part of the reason they persuade themselves that their offspring are enhancing their lives.

Read entire article here. I am happy the writer strove for balance by ending with this:

But some experts believe that it not having children itself which breed the discontent.

Richard Tunney, assistant professor of psychology at the University of Nottingham, said: "From an evolutionary point of view we are programmed to procreate.

"It would not make sense for having children to make us unhappy.

"However, in countries like Britain having children is hard - your finances are hit, childcare in this country is appalling and for women especially, their careers suffer.

"That is not the fault of having children per se, but of society."

He added that "of course" couples were less happy after having children than in the early years of their marriage, when they were "in the first flushes of romantic love and had more money".

But the two feelings could not be compared, he said, "they are two different types of emotion".

This hasn't hit the U.S. print media yet. But what ironic timing - two days before Mother's Day.

You can count on some encouragement here in what I plan to post today and tomorrow.

Carl Landwehr, founder and president of the Vitae Caring Foundation, saw a need for a way to reach more people concerning abortion. So he filled it with his foundation.

Vitae Caring Foundation

"You've got to tell the story," Landwehr said to a group of pro-life supporters in West Chester, Pa., last Saturday evening. The mass media was a natural fit, he said, because "advertising changes the way people think and the way people behave."

To ensure effective -- life saving -- advertising, the Vitae Caring Foundation invested in research that helped group members "learn how to speak to pregnant women," said Landwehr. They also realized that "one message does not fit all," that addressing abortion "was more complicated than sharing information."

The group's goal is to encourage pregnant women with unplanned pregnancies, who "feel alone and desperate," to turn to pregnancy centers for help, Landwehr said. There's no "finger pointing, no relying for help from legislators or the president," simply a Vitae bottom line that says "I saved a life."

Vitae takes its ads into the toughest markets, places with skyrocketing abortion rates. It counts successes, saved lives or lower abortion rates, in New York City, Dallas and Atlanta, among other areas, said Landwehr.

The powerful, award-winning ads, here, speak for themselves.

Advertising is expensive. In order to keep those commercials coming, the Vitae Caring Foundation would welcome your support.

On April 24, KS pro-life U.S. Sens. Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts issued a press release endorsing Steve Howe for Johnson County district attorney.

The release called the position an "open seat."

brownback kline howe.jpg

It is not.

Phill Kline is currently the appointed district attorney and has been urged to reconsider his decision not to run to retain his seat in November....

Kline is the only DA in the country with a pending criminal case against a Planned
Parenthood
....

Brownback knows pro-lifers are encouraging Kline to stay... because many influential pro-lifers called him and asked him to wait for Kline to decide before endorsing. There was no hurry. The filing deadline is still over a month away....

But Brownback... endorsed Howe anyway....

The question is whose help does Brownback want?

RINOS and hacks want the Planned Parenthood investigation ended. They fear a run by Kline will stir more Democrats to vote than might otherwise.

They also consider the Johnson County DA position a launching pad to a bigger and better thing: The AG's office.

Was Brownback enticed to support Howe for a promise of support in his gubernatorial bid by non-conservative Republicans?

Or perhaps he fears sharing the ticket with Kline in 2010?

Last Thursday a group of Kansas pro-life leaders paid Brownback a surprise visit in his
Washington, D.C., office....

Hitler, the Nazi's and Assisted Suicide

by Jane St. Clair
Author of Walk Me to Midnight,

People in favor of assisted suicide pose four compelling arguments:

  1. Compassion - Assisted suicide is a matter of compassion. No one should suffer needlessly when a doctor's injection ends it quickly.

  2. Dignity - Euthanasia is necessary to preserve the dignity of a dying person.

  3. Better good of society - End-of-life care is expensive and drains the health care system. Sometimes we have to make hard choices for the greater good.
