Forgive me if I'm late in noting this widely reported news item.
(Thought you would find it more upbeat than a post about Barack Obama's and Hillary Clinton's petty abortion-related bickering.)
This news about the growing movement of men who regret the loss of their children to abortions past first ran in the Los Angeles Times on January 7 under the headline "Changing abortion's pronown." LA Times' Staff Writer Stephanie Simon penned the story. It's here.
Variations of the original story were published in other newspapers.
On January 10, the story appeared here in The Mercury News of San Hose under the headline "Men aim to alter abortion debate." The Houston Chronicle ran it here on January 12, headlined "Activists hope to make abortion a man's issue, too." The next day, The Boston Globe published the story here under the original LA Times' headline. The News Tribune of Tacoma, Washington dubbed the story "Men saddened by abortion begin to speak out." Look for that version here (no date on website).
Other publications and blogs also carried or noted the story.
That's a lot of information about another aspect of abortion that many folks might have never considered. Whether or not the story meets pro-life approval, it raises volumes of awareness on the fact that abortion stings some men in ways never anticipated.
Such coverage will surely help those men who've remained silent about their abortion-related regrets. It might also make others think twice about being partners to abortion.
Media members who wrote and ran this story deserve credit.
