FEATURED SPEAKER:
BARBARA CURTIS
Pro-life advocate, author, mother of 12
Barbara Curtis is an award-winning author, pro-life advocate, and mother of 12 - including four sons with Down syndrome, three of whom are adopted. Her two oldest daughters have also blessed her with 10 grandchildren - so far!
Coming of age during the 1960's as a Washington D.C. anti-war organizer / radical feminist / abortion rights activist, Barbara migrated to San Francisco in 1972 to explore the more "recreational" side of the counterculture through drugs and promiscuity. The story of how God rescued her - and how experiencing His love taught her that every life matters - is one she never grows tired of telling.
Barbara's background as a Montessori teacher has provided material for many books and articles as well as a popular blog: www.mommylife.net. Her radical political shift has resulted in hundreds of newspaper columns and a book - Reaching the Left from the Right: Talking About Social Issues with People Who Don't Think Like You. Copies will be available at the event.
