Another "Tiny 'Miracle' Baby Finally Goes Home," reported the Associated Press. Tamara Dixon was born in Trenton, N.J.
Congratulations to Andrea Haws and her husband Terry Dixon on the homecoming of Tamara, the answer to her mother's prayers.
"Doctors gave Tamera Dixon a 10 to 15 percent chance of survival before she was born on April 25, about three months before her due date," according to the AP. Tamara weighed a little over 11 ounces and measured 10 inches at birth. She is believed to be one of the most petite babies born in New Jersey.
Just six months ago the nation's tiniest preemie, Amillia Sonja Taylor of Homestead, Fl., went home with her mom and dad. (See my post "Special Delivery" here.) Amillia weighed just 10 ounces and measured 9 1/2 inches on her birth date, October 24, 2006.
Both Tamara and Amillia have been described by their families as fighters for their lives. Each was considered a "miracle."
Thank heaven for these littlest girls who awe us with their dignity.
