Jill reports on a "tragic plan" "recover damages for fraudulent PBA [partial-birth abortion] fundraising" by suing pro-life organizations . A letter from a "reliable source" includes the following statement:
If such a suit is filed, it could expand to target multiple organizations. If you make sure to include Dr. Dobon's assessment (quoted just below) or its equivalent, in any fundraising effort that mentions PBA, I would then make every effort to exclude your organization from such a suitThe lawsuit will apparently be filed if the NRLC (National Right to Life) disenfranchises CRLC (Colorado Right to Life).
Friends, this is one of the most discouraging developments I've ever seen. The Supreme Court upholds a ban on a notorious abortion procedure, the publicity of which serves to pull the mask off the abortion industry and strengthen the resolve of those who oppose abortion, and in response pro-lifers wage war on each other - what a twisted victory party! Even when we win we lose.

As such, the alleged ban has never had any actual effect on the overall goal of restoring absolute protection to every single innocent preborn baby.
Except that polls have continually showed that the debate over partial-birth abortion has changed the minds of many people on abortion. If the prolife goal of banning abortion is to ever be accomplished, we must employ tactics and strategy which help us win hearts and minds. I don't know how publicly attacking prolife organizations wins hearts and minds.

Colorado Right to Life, which ran a full-page ad in The Gazette last month criticizing Focus on the Family founder James Dobson, was ousted Wednesday from the National Right to Life Committee.The issue and result are distressing because we have friends (and prolifeblogs authors) on both sides of the controversy. Perhaps the division will enable all to focus more effectively on their mission rather than each other.Colorado Right to Life President Brian Rohrbough and the leaders of three other groups accused Dobson of mischaracterizing a recent Supreme Court ruling as a victory for abortion opponents.
Dobson, the ad charged, was "celebrating this evil ruling" and misleading abortion foes by praising the court's upholding a ban on "partial birth" abortions.
The ruling, they claimed, would only encourage doctors to find "less shocking" methods than the late-term abortions.
Colorado Citizens for Life/Protecting Life Now will be recognized as the state affiliate, National Right to Life said in a statement Wednesday.
