From New York comes more evidence that the U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding the federal Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act prohibiting late-term abortions didn't end the attack on unborn children; .Gov. Eliot Spitzer has announced he plans to introduce legislation aimed at overhauling the state's abortion policies with the "Reproductive Health and Privacy Protection Act" which would update the state's abortion law by allowing women to have abortions late in their pregnancies to protect their health.

The governor's office said the law would also classify abortion as a matter of professional and medical discretion and remove a statute "that criminalizes, among other things, providing nonprescription contraception to minors."

Shirley Dobson, on the day of the ruling, agreed with talk show host Hugh Hewitt that the Supreme Court upholding the partial-birth abortion ban, "is an answer to prayer." The tragedy, which she was unaware of, but which Hewitt as a lawyer should have known, is that not a single abortion, late-term or otherwise, has been or will be, canceled due to this ban. And THE BAN ITSELF NEVER HAD EVEN THE POSSIBILITY OF PREVENTING A SINGLE ABORTION. Fifteen years of focused effort went toward achieving this ban, and tens of millions of dollars have been raised to continue that long fight, and during those years U.S. abortionists have killed 20,000,000 children. And now that we have our PBA ban in place, law enforcement cannot use it to protect the life of even a single pre-born child. The justices of the 5-to-4 majority, all of whom were appointed by Ronald Reagan, George Bush, or George W. Bush, namely, Kennedy, Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, and Alito, rendered a ruling that has no moral component whatsoever and is merely regulatory. On page 30 at Section IV (A), these men optimistically suggest that, "The medical profession, furthermore, may find different and less shocking methods to abort the fetus in the second trimester, thereby accommodating legislative demand."

Our Christian leaders have misled millions into thinking this ban would prevent at least some abortions. In reality, pro-lifers volunteered, they made phone calls, and gave money, all to promote a ban that utterly lacked the authority to save even a single baby. Sadly, our leaders are not wiser than that. Rank-and-file pro-lifers were never told that this ban had no ability to actually save a child, and instead was a public relations event "to keep the issue in the news." But the children deserved better. Almost all our leaders, from the protestant Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family, to the Roman Catholic president of National Right to Life Wanda Franz, led Christians to believe that the PBA ban would reduce late term abortions. Two less-known syndicated Christian radio hosts, unnamed, were saying exactly that while celebrating this ruling until they took a call from Colorado Right To Life board member Lolita Hanks, RN, MS, who informed them that late-term abortionists will continue unabated under this ruling because the ban only prohibits a particular technique, and does NOT prohibit the murder of even a single child.

The partial birth abortion ban ruling is a watershed moment in the abortion debate. It isn't because it "restricts a right for a woman to choose" or that "it is the beginning of the end of abortion", it's that it is a vindication for a common-sense understanding of the Constitution.

The foundational rights of this nation at the time of its creation were freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and due process. These ideas were supreme and everything else was built from there. Many laws were struck down simply because they conflicted, even tangently, with those rights. With Roe v Wade, something quietly but dramatic occurred.

The foundational right of the nation changed to be a "right to abortion". Even if one were to argue that abortion was a constitutional right encapsulated in a right to privacy that simply does not translate into a "right of abortion" that overrides all others.

Annually, US based foundations and individuals give millions upon millions of dollars to foreign organizations pushing for legalized abortion. The impact of this funding can be seen with the recent vote to legalize abortion in Mexico City.

Why should these millions of dollars be allowed to fund organizations that promote the killing of unborn people?

If these foundations were funding death squads or Al-Qaeda training camps, there would be public outrage. The Federal Government would come down hard, possibly closing down the foundations and sending people to prison. But when it comes to the "camps" used for training those who seek to legalize abortion, those who will operate the clinics, and those who will perform them, there isn't any outrage.

That's not to say abortion and terrorism are the same - terrorism strikes fear into the hearts of a people and often forces them to change their lifestyle in order to avoid becoming victims. But what is common between the two is that they both result in the deliberate and unjust death of innocent people - abortion is a terrorism of sorts in this aspect.

Funding and assisting terrorist organizations, even in the form of medical care, is already illegal.

What is the purpose in prohibiting funding of such groups? Is it to prevent social and political change in foreign lands? No. It's to prevent the murder of people both abroad and within the US, not to discourage political discourse.

Isn't the abortion debate just a part of normal political discourse? Sure - without the grants, abortion will still be debated abroad. The difference is that the odds are that debate itself will be the only result of the debate - abortion will continue to be illegal in most instances.

But with foreign funding comes multitudes of lawyers, bribes, coercion, corruption, deceit, public misinformation, and the establishment of "training" facilities and "base camps" in the form of family planning clinics. These are the training camps of abortion "terrorism".

To be clear, the issue isn't banning political debate or freedom of speech. The issue is about funding actions that inevitably result in the wholesale slaughter of innocent people.

The Federal government already bans the funding of terrorist groups, so it's not a far fetched idea to ban the funding of groups seeking to legalize abortion abroad. In fact, all funding, public or private, intended for the advancement of mass killings of innocent humans abroad, should be banned.

The money from these foundations and individuals is payment in advance for the future deaths of multitudes of people. The funding is not disconnected with the deaths of people - the funding paves the way for them - and pays for the execution facilities and training as well.

More than likely, the vote to legalize abortion in Mexico City wouldn't have happened without this funding. And the efforts don't stop with Mexico City either - these groups are pushing for legalized abortion in other Mexican States and foreign countries as well, all with the financial backing of US based foundations.

It's time to stop private and public funds from being used to legalize child killing abroad, and it's an issue the pro-life movement needs to address with all urgency.

Tomorrow, April 28, the March of Dimes will launch its 2007 WalkAmerica fund-raisers around the country.

MOD's stated mission is "to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality."

In the interest of full disclosure, MOD should add, "... in politically correct ways."

MOD has been at odds with the pro-life community since the 1970s for its inexplicable love affair with the pro-death movement in many areas.

One is that MOD turns a blind eye toward the link between induced abortion and premature delivery.

At least 60 studies involving 23 countries over the past 40 years have confirmed with 95 percent confidence that there is a significant increase in premature births following induced abortions....

MOD used to include abortion as a risk, but scan MOD's list of risks and note it strangely missing.

Then MOD trips over its feigned ignorance, stating....

Alan Keyes rallies forces on 40th anniversary of Colorado law.
Keyes urges anti-abortion activists to keep fighting

Likening abortion to terrorism, conservative commentator Alan Keyes on Wednesday called on anti-abortion rights activists to remain committed to ending abortion completely without compromise.

In legalizing abortion, Keyes said, the United States abandoned the principle that every person is created equal, a right that comes from the "hand of almighty God," and allowed innocent babies to be killed just as terrorists kill innocent people.

He likened judges who have allowed abortion to serial killers who take a false premise and logically work their way to their conclusion to justify their killing.

Keyes delivered a fiery speech to about 200 people gathered at the state Capitol to mark the 40th anniversary of the signing of a Colorado law that expanded abortion rights.

Colorado was the first of 15 states to either allow abortion under more exceptions or to completely decriminalize it before Roe vs. Wade legalized it nationwide.

The activists who gathered talked over strategy on how to move forward. Much of the discussion focused on criticizing fellow anti-abortion activists who have pushed for state bans that allow exceptions for things such as rape.

Keyes echoed that, criticizing the recent Supreme Court decision upholding the federal "partial-birth" abortion ban because it was based on the premise that there is a constitutional right to abortion.

Keyes, who unsuccessfully challenged Barack Obama for the U.S. Senate in Illinois, also criticized Republican presidential candidates John McCain and Mitt Romney for what he considered weak positions on abortion.

He said anti-abortion activists have to continue fighting for an end to abortion without rushing to make compromises or thinking about when they will win.

"We will tell them no, we will not allow a murder and will not call it a right," Keyes said.

The British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology published a startling report in its March 2007 issue.

During a 10 year period from 1995-2004, researchers found that 18 of 20 hospitals in a sampled section of the UK committed a type of abortion procedure that resulted in babies being aborted still alive.

Researchers found that one in 30 of babies aborted by this induced labor abortion procedure were delivered alive, living an average of 80 minutes. A few lived several hours. This statistic increased to one in 10 when babies were aborted at the gestational age of 23 weeks, the current medically drawn line of viability.

This study supports my belief that induced labor abortion is being rampantly committed in U. S. hospitals and abortion mills.

But my theory can't be corroborated because U. S. government officials are loath to uncover the extent of this practice.....

Last week, the Supreme Court upheld the partial birth abortion ban by a vote of 5 - 4. Partial birth abortions are considered to be the most gruesome procedures by many Pro-Life leaders. It is one in which a baby, up to the day of delivery, is partially delivered feet first, up to the head, and then killed before removing the dead body from the woman.

ProLifeNews.tv and NationalProLifeRadio.net were there with Rev. Rob Schenck from FaithAndAction.org as many pro-abortion women descended upon us to speak their disapproval with the ruling.

The April 30 issue of People magazine features stories of two women who have lost legal battles against estranged partners to keep the embryos they created together via in vitro fertilization.

In the case of formerly engaged UK couple Natallie Evans and Howard Johnston, the court ruled their embryos must be destroyed by May 8. In 2001, about to lose her ovaries after the discovery of precancerous cells, Evans underwent hormone therapy to mature several eggs and had them fertilized by Johnston's sperm, with his permission. After they broke up, Johnston changed his mind and has been waging a legal battle for five years to destroy their preborn children.

Augusta and Randy Roman divorced a few months after they had three embryos created by IVF in 2002. Augusta, now 45 and with a biological clock ticking louder by the day, has been fighting Randy's wish to keep the embryos indefinitely frozen in storage. She says she didn't realize one of the papers she signed at the time of the fertilization stated the embryos would be destroyed in the event of a split. This case is now before the Texas Supreme Court.

So many moral dilemmas. To name a few...

Since 1966: Mass shootings more common since [late] 1960s

Since Aug. 1, 1966, when Charles Whitman climbed a 27-story tower on the University of Texas campus and started picking people off, at least 100 Americans have gone on shooting sprees...seven of the eight deadliest mass public shootings have occurred in the past 25 years [1982 through 2007].

...The increase in mass killings during the 1960s was accompanied by a doubling in the overall murder rate after the relatively peaceful 1940s and '50s.

[T]he first concerted effort to overturn state laws prohibiting abortion began in 1957...

Seems that precedence (stare decisis) of the court only matters when it serves liberal interests, especially abortion.

Consider this comment by "Justice" Ginsberg on today's Supreme Court ruling upholding the partial birth abortion ban.

"and the Court's defense of it cannot be understood as anything other than an effort to chip away at a right declared again and again by this Court -- and with increasing comprehension of its centrality to women's lives. A decision of the character the Court makes today should not have staying power.":

What's wrong with this statement? Well, this ruling is now precedence, yet Ginsberg is hinting that it should be overturned! Typical liberal hypocrisy - they follow the rules that serve their interests but abandon the same rules when they don't.

However, legal precedence is overrated to begin with, and stare decisis is a dogma of the legal community which all too often is used to justify ignoring the Constitution and overturning the will of the people.

The 5-4 ruling said the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act that Congress passed and President Bush signed into law in 2003 does not violate a woman's constitutional right to an abortion.

Finally, medical common sense and human reason has prevailed. The Supreme Court has upheld the nationwide ban on the insensitive and brutal (to the unborn child) act of partial birth abortion today, handing abortion opponents an important long-awaited victory. Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in the majority opinion, "The opponents of the act "have not demonstrated that the Act would be unconstitutional in a large fraction of relevant cases."

Yesterday, members of Project Plus held an event called Food Not Condoms on the campus of Mary Washington University.

The event consisted of providing students with a free meal composed of rice, beans, tortillas, and coffee as well as distribution of fliers that address this issue.

From their press release:

"The name of the event says it all," said Shankle, "We want to raise awareness of the fact that people in Africa, Honduras, and other parts of the world are starving while organizations and governments are shipping millions of dollars worth of condoms every year instead of food or aid. Food Not Condoms is their wakeup call."

"Last year International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) dispensed 103.4 million condoms to starving people. The problem is, you can't eat condoms," said Brittany Shankle, a senior at the University of Mary Washington who is coordinating the event. "Students at Mary Washington University are taking part in a demonstration called Food Not Condoms, which insists that the selfish policies of sending condoms to places where people are starving to death must come to an end." (emphasis added)

The Food Not Condoms event is aimed at highlighting social injustices, and, Shankle hopes, enlightening people to the true root problem of world hunger: selfishness. "Starvation and disease will persist as long as we continue to apply a 'band-aid' of contraception to this gaping wound," said Shankle. "Our community needs to understand that contraception is not the cure."

The group is on to something here - foreign countries needs food, but too often contraception is forced upon them. A STOPP report linked to from the website highlights this problem:

They spend so much money! It's only NGOs that deal with reproductive health that they call "safe motherhood," because so many women die while giving birth. But, it is a disguise! They come in the village with condoms and talk about abortion rights and women's rights, blah, blah, blah, and they spend so much money! The big organizations spend so much money, but when they find out you are dealing with all that (dying children and mothers) they are not interested. You have to say you are dealing with reproductive rights before you are given support.(emphasis added)

To keep the wheels of the cloning and embryonic stem cell research turning, researchers need eggs, lots of human eggs. Many young women do not realize the risks of donating or selling their eggs. These risks include loss of fertility and in rare cases death. This video gives a face to the reality of the demand for human eggs for research and the dangers to healthy young women.

Please spread the word about egg donation. An advertisement in my area calls egg donation "child's play." It is anything but.

At the end of the President's speech, a protester screamed out "disgusting! you disgust me!", as she was escorted out of the room I believe she yelled out anti-war (Iraq) comments as well.

A friend of a friend recently got back from a mission trip in Africa and she had this story to tell.

While she was there, she went to visit a local health clinic. She was taken on a tour of the facilities by a member of the staff, and was brought back into the supply room. There her guide showed her the supplies that this small village had to work with. She opened one cabinet marked first aid and found a few small boxes of bandaids, and a few other gauze stripes, but a basically bare cubbord. She then opened the medical refridgerator, used to keep antibiotics and other medicine at the proper temperature, and found no supplies whatsoever. However, that was just 2 doors, there were still several more to go. She opened the last three with the guide and was stunned....

Michael Clancy, the photographer who snapped the photo in 1999 of Baby Samuel Armas reaching out of his mother's uterus to hold the finger of his surgeon, attended a pregnancy care center banquet last month, where he and Samuel's mother Julie spoke.

Wrote Michael in an email to me, "It was a God moment when at the end of her presentation, Samuel, at seven years old, climbed the stairs and took his place beside her at the podium. A standing ovation ensued and it was one of several times that night I more than teared up, I cried."

The Family Research Council today condemned deception by Senators Specter and Harkin on stem cell research.

Washington D.C. - Yesterday, the United States Senate began debate on S. 5, "Stem Cell Therapeutic and Research Act of 2005" (S. 5) a bill that would use taxpayers to fund research that requires the destruction of human embryos. "While Senators Harkin and Specter might have the Democratic Leadership on their side - science and truth are not," said Tom McClusky, Vice President for Government Affairs at the Family Research Council.

DECEPTION: Senator Harkin claims that S. 5 has tighter ethical guidelines than the Bush embryonic stem cell policy.

TRUTH: Apparently, Senator Harkin thinks using taxpayers' money to encourage the destruction of human life is more ethical than not destroying human embryos. President Bush's policy does not allow funding for research that destroys human embryos, nor create an incentive to do so. S. 5 is written precisely to do so at taxpayer expense.

DECEPTION: Senator Harkin claims this debate is about hope and helping people who have devastating illness.

TRUTH: Senator Harkin is correct. It is about treating patients, which is why we support using adult stem cells which have already treated over 70 diseases in real human patients. Doug Rice was treated for heart disease, Carol Franz was treated for multiple myeloma, and Steve Sprague was treated for Leukemia, and Keonne Penn was treated for sickle cell anemia. Embryonic stem cells have failed to treat anyone of a disease and have had mixed results in animals, and tend to form tumors. Adult stem cells do not tend to form tumors, have reversed diabetes in animal studies and treated patients not only for blood diseases, but also diseases such as heart disease, cornea damage, rheumatoid arthritis, krabbe disease and many others.

DECEPTION: Senator Specter claims that the 400,000 frozen embryos available for research will be thrown out. He says they won't be used to produce life.
TRUTH: According to Rand, of the 400,000 frozen embryos, only 2.8% are designated for research, and Rand estimates that if all these embryos were used, they could only generate 275 new stem cell lines at most. S. 5 will not generate as many embryonic stem cell lines as proponents claim. Researchers will have to create human embryos for the sole purpose of destructive research, or attempt to clone human embryos for research.

On the day U.S. Senator Tom Harkin proclaims adult stem cells "haven't provided the answer for juvenile diabetes" (third to last paragraph) and "the presentations about adult stem cells having as much or more potential than embryonic stem cells, in my view, do not hold scientific water. I think they are overstated," the Journal of the American Medical Association publishes a study out of Brazil where patients with juvenile diabetes were successfully treated with their own adult stem cells.

Or is that karma?

Our friends at the Alliance Defense Fund give the following update:

A probate judge Tuesday issued a temporary restraining order so that a toddler named Emilio at Children's Hospital of Austin can continue to receive medical treatment while his lawsuit moves forward. The judge set a new hearing date for April 19, when an Alliance Defense Fund allied attorney will help defend the boy's right to life.

"We are very pleased that the court today has agreed that little Emilio should continue to receive the treatment he needs to live while this case moves forward," said Joshua Carden, the ADF-allied attorney working on the case along with lead counsel Jerri Ward. "The Children's Hospital of Austin should do the right thing by Emilio. Instead, the hospital made the wrong decision by attempting to subject this little boy to 'death by vote.'"

Though doctors are not certain in their diagnosis, they believe Emilio has Leigh's Disease, a condition that is treated primarily through vitamin therapy. But on March 12, an "ethics" committee at the Children's Hospital of Austin voted behind closed doors to end treatments for Emilio, deeming his life "futile." Without the treatments, the boy will likely die in a matter of hours.

The hospital had intended to cease Emilio's treatments Tuesday, but because the probate judge granted the temporary restraining order for Emilio, the boy will continue to receive his treatments until the new hearing date. On April 4, a federal judge had refused to issue such an order (www.telladf.org/news/story.aspx?cid=4065).

Under Texas law, a hospital is required to wait only 10 days before discontinuing treatment, to allow for a transfer to another hospital willing to admit the patient. Due to litigation, the 10-day window in Emilio's case had been extended until April 10.

The Probate Court of Texas issued the temporary restraining order in the case Gonzales v. Children's Hospital of Austin.

A Travis Judge has ruled on the side of mother trying to keep her son on life support. Catarina Gonzales gets more time with her child. A temporary restraining order has been issued against the seton family of hospitals. This order gives Gonzales more time to look for a transfer facility for her son Emilio. Jerri Ward, Attorney for Gonzales, says as of now Austin's Children's Hospital doesn't think Emilio is a candidate for a tracheotomy, which she disagrees with. She says they have medical evidence and opinions from other doctors indicating that he is a candidate - which will help his chances to move into a long term care facility.

Update: Judge Extends Terminally Ill Infant's Life Support

Yesterday, blogger Sex in the Public Square complained about this quote in a March 30 Time magazine article about the abortion industry's marketing advances in Latin America:

... Chilean President Michelle Bachelet, a socialist, late last year sanctioned the free distribution of abortion-inducing "morning-after" contraception pills at government-run hospitals.

Groused SitPS:

This is a major problem. Not only is it inaccurate, but to describe emergency contraception as an abortion-inducing pill is to greatly reduce its chances of acceptance by people who oppose abortion, and increase the stigma attached to its use.

I, too, am shocked Time used the a-word to explain how the morning-after pills works, certainly due to a momentary lapse of honesty.

And SitPS is right that if women knew hormonal contraception caused abortions, many would reject it. But SitPS is wrong to purport it does not. I'll cut her slack, though. She is likely ignorant through no fault of her own but because her liberal mentors seek to keep all women barefoot and barren on that point.

Here is how the Plan B morning-after pill website says Plan B works:

Plan B works like a regular birth control pill. It prevents pregnancy mainly by stopping the release of an egg from the ovary, and may also prevent the fertilization of an egg (the uniting of sperm with the egg). Plan B may also work by preventing it from attaching to the uterus (womb).

What is "it"? An embryo. Embryos are a minimum of five days old and maximum of nine days old when they implant in the uterus. So the morning after pill may cause the abortion of an approximately week-old preborn human.

This is information women including SitPS should know, but the contraception/abortion industry purposefully keeps it from them by using ambiguous or misleading language.

More bad publicity for Johnson & Johnson...

An Ohio woman who is seeking damages related to Ortho Evra, is asking the state Supreme Court to give an advisory ruling on the constitutionality of Ohio Senate Bill 80 (2005). This tort reform bill limits non-economic lliability awards.

An excerpt from Pair of Ohio tort reform cases set for argument on same day:

Arbino, of Cincinnati, alleges in her complaint that her use of the birth control patch Ortho Evra caused four blood clots by the time she was 24. Blood clots, she says, were not an expressed side effect of the patch

Some women are not as lucky as Ms. Arbino - she's still alive to tell her story. The relatives of women whose deaths are blamed on the patch believe that Ortho Evra kills, and have filed suit against the manufacturer.

The exact number of Ortho Evra deaths is unknown, but there are at least 23 claims which allege that the patch resulted in the death if its user.

Ms. Arbino's claims only emphasize the fact that Ortho Evra is dangerous and should be withdrawn from the market.

In an effort to try and prevent the development of websites which would shine a negative light on "the patch", Johnson and Johnson bought all of the negative sounding Ortho Evra domain names - or at least they thought they did. Read about it it more at here.

On another note, it is believed that the patch may block implantation of a fertilized egg (a newly created human) - it may act as an abortifacient if its other mechanisms fail.

This potential abortifacient and dangerous contraceptive should be removed from the market. But don't hold your breath - it's contraception after all. If this were a vitamin or some other drug, things might be different, but aparrently contraceptives and abortion drugs get a pass from the FDA. Don't expect the 110th Congress to do anything to resolve this situation - if anything, they'd prefer to just turn their heads and increase federal funding for contraception - including for the patch.

Once again a fragile and infinitely precious innocent life hangs in the balance, as a mother is pitted against the medical establishment in a battle for the life of her little boy.

Catarina Gonzales, 23 and single, is fighting to save the life of her son, Emilio, who is 17 months old and requires vitamin and respiratory therapy with a ventilator to sustain his life. Although his diagnosis is still not definitive, his doctors believe he has Leigh's disease, a condition that is life-threatening.

The ethics committee at the facility currently treating Emilio has declared Emilio's case "futile," a decision which marks Emilio for death unless another hospital will agree to take him on transfer. The deadline by which to find another facility is Tuesday, April 10th.

Texas law allows hospitals to deny patients any and all forms of life-sustaining treatment against their wishes, or in the case of children, against the wishes of their parents or legal guardians--after providing the patient and/or family ten days notice. Withdrawal includes food and water via a feeding tube, antibiotics, ventilators and other forms of life-saving intervention. If a transfer cannot be found by April 10, the hospital will remove Emilio's ventilator, an action which will very likely result in his death.

Save the Children From Children's Hospital

Cannily burying their intentions amidst the pain of a family's confusion, doctors in Texas now have a opportunist system for killing people while simultaneously diverting blame. It is a wicked partnership of bureaucracy and law which facilitates the self-congratulation of bloodlust these days in Texas. The reader will be fascinated at how the racket operates.

The following, if true, is what abortion and the dehumanization of preborn babies has wrought. It is the most despicable outcome of abortion I have ever seen or reported.

Yet, if one is "pro-choice" and denies that preborn humans are human, there is nothing wrong with this whatsoever. It can't even be considered cannibalism.

In fact, in China, reports about meals made from infant flesh have surfaced from time to time. A video is on the Internet for people to view. In the introduction, the Chinese claim that eating a human fetus is an art form....

The Assocated Press reported yesterday:

COLVILLE, Wash. - An 18-year-old pleaded guilty to trying to hire a hit man to kill his ex-girlfriend's nearly full-term fetus and was sentenced to more than six years in prison.

Charles D. Young received 76 1/2 months in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to first-degree solicitation to commit manslaughter. State law allows for such a count when a viable fetus is the intended target....

Note the word "manslaughter" was applied to "fetus."

This is just one example how legalized abortion has convuluted U.S. law into a pretzel.

In this case, the fetus had rights and was called a "human being" by law, by the very definition of "manslaughter."

In this case, the fetus was a human being solely because the mother wanted the fetus to be considered a human being.

Yet the mother could have left the courtroom after the baby's father was sentenced to 6+ years in prison for trying to kill the "human being" inside her, and were she still pregnant, walked to the abortion mill down the street and legally killed the "fetus" inside her.

I've read many ridiculous attempts to parse words and definitions on my blog to condone abortion the last few days.

Here we had a "fetus" who was a "human being" by law. Explain that, pretzel makers.

*** UPDATE: Friend and reader Rachael pointed us to the Urban Legends site that says the description for the Baby Samuel photo is "inaccurate."

It cites an Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper article from December 13, 2000, that says the baby's hand merely "flopped out" and that Dr. Joseph Bruner said (though there are no actual quotes from Bruner) that he simply lifted it and tucked it back into the uterus. Snopes.com however is lacking in that they missed the most important source: it doesn't cite the original article on the story, from April 2000. More on that below.

In an interview with CNN, Rudy Giuliani reiterated his support for abortion yesterday. He said:

"I'm in the same position now that I was 12 years ago when I ran for mayor -- which is, personally opposed to abortion, don't like it, hate it, would advise that woman to have an adoption rather than abortion, hope to find the money for it," he said. "But it is your choice, an individual right. You get to make that choice, and I don't think society should be putting you in jail."

The reality show centers around family life at their New Jersey home. The cliffhanger ending of season two was Justine's announcement to Rev. Run as cameras rolled that she was pregnant, and their subsequent announcement together to their children through a guessing game of charades.

What viewers will learn in season three is the baby, born Sept. 26, 2006, and named Victoria Anne, died two hours after she was born.

They will also learn Run and Justine were told midway through her pregnancy the baby had a birth defect, omphalocele, which causes abdominal organs to grow outside the body.

The Simmonses opted not to abort. They also opted not to tell their children before delivery so that real responses and emotions would be filmed.

So viewers will see the Simmons children being brought into the hospital room and told on camera by Justine that their sister has died.....
