Obama, Religion and Abortion

Barack Obama, who recently won the office of Senator from Illinois, announced his candidacy for President of the United States on Saturday. He is a solid pro-abortion person who doesn't believe that religious views should influence law.

Why is it that people justify killing people by saying that not allowing the killing is somehow "codifying religion." Basic human rights says that Person A ought not to be allowed to kill Person B. The person who wants to permit the killing ought to be called on the carpet for letting his personal beliefs trump basic human decency.
