The Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act," HB 6099 will require doctors to read a statement to women seeking an abortion, informing them that a child as young as 20 weeks feels pain, and that the mother can choose to anesthetize her child before killing her. Well, they don't really have to say "killing her", but saying "before having the abortion" means the same thing.

In the United States, women are frequently left in the dark when it comes to abortion. Abortion businesses routinely and purposefully refuse to give women information about the development of their unborn child or abortion's risks and alternatives.
The Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act is a good bill that makes it clear to women considering an abortion that it will cause their unborn baby intense pain. In many cases, mothers will change their mind and give their baby a chance to live. The pro-life community ought to celebrate that, not attack it.
This measure conforms the to long-standing pro-life goals of reducing the number of abortions as much as possible until the day comes that unborn children are protected by law. It does not enshrine or promote abortion, but rather seeks to help women and save the lives of unborn children while we simultaneously work to bring an end to the travesty of abortion.
The battle between pro-life supporters and pro-choice supporters has gotten so far out of hand. I disagree with the fanatical ideas of the pro-life supporters. Fanatical pro-life supporters are wrong to be so harsh towards women who choose to have abortions because in the end it has nothing to do with them. I agree with the reports that a fetus can feel pain later in its development, but i disagree with the fact that a fetus can feel pain with in its first weeks of existance. From a realistic point of view, if you are not a recently pregnant woman than the issue should really not concern you.
