"The mere existence of the Crossroads organization is itself a perfect example of one of the four main reasons I believe that Roe and Doe's days are numbered and we will soon see the end to decriminalized abortion in the United States," said Stephen G. Peroutka, Esq., a Maryland-based attorney. "For the past 12 years, as many as 40 college students have forgone the normal summer staples of beach vacations and movies to walk across the United States to deliver a peaceful, prayerful message of the inviolable sanctity of all human life. America's young men and women, the very generation born under a bull's-eye, are pro-life and will lead our movement to ultimate victory."
Crossroads annually organizes groups of college students who walk across the United States -- from points on the West Coast to a concluding rally in Washington, D.C.-- to raise awareness of the immoral, destructive and violent nature of abortion. This summer, Crossroads sponsored three simultaneous walks originating in Seattle, Wash., San Francisco and Los Angeles, Calif. Around 40 college students participated and collectively walked approximately 12,600 miles, with each walker personally averaging about 1,000 miles on foot.
"Perhaps one of the powerful indicators of our coming victory is that our opponents are consumed with talk of defeat and failure," observed Peroutka, whose speech will outline all four reasons he believes the Roe and Doe decisions will soon be overturned. "I am honored to be a part of Crossroads' rally and look forward to sharing this plan with them. But, I am most privileged to be able to tell them how much of an inspiration they are to me."
