The folly of embryonic stem cell research

| 4 Comments | No TrackBacks
Congress is trying to push through embryonic stem cell research claiming it can be the fountain of youth elixer. Proponents of this research claim that it might cure paralysis, alzheimers and other terrible afflictions.

Here's the main problem, embryonic stem cell research involves killing human beings in order to make lives better for other human beings. The Nazis did this & we condemed them for it.

Let's look at the first pool of humans that they are going after, the frozen embryos left over from in vitro fertilization. In the beginning they will ask permission from the parents of these embryos (maybe), but in the end they will figure out how to seize them. Fertility clinics will also come up with new contracts which will guarantee their right of ownership after a successful implantation. Then they will sell left over humans for a hefty fee.

Here is a clip from a CNN.com article from a year ago:

Supporters point out there are embryos in fertility clinics that would never be used to create babies, but could be used for research purposes.

We trust our representatives don't we? Should we? Reagon said "trust but verify", so why don't we have a board of people defending morality in government? Our government is getting bigger than itself and no longer has the capability to understand right from wrong. Why? Because right and wrong are intangible. Because we can't put our hands on them, they morph over time from one thing to another. That is why abortion, the decriminilized murder of innocent human beings, kills over one million people a year in America alone. What other horrible things are happening?

> Sex selection - Gender selection facilities are doing a booming business. People are also flying to America to choose the gender of their children. Not happy with your daughter? Catch her early enough in the womb, kill her & try for a boy.
> Selective reduction - The process of killing "extra" children when women have been impregnated by IVF. Haven't you ever heard of couples who have gone through IVF having twins? They didn't have just two to start with. They might have started with as many as 4 or 5. The doctor tells them that the mother will struggle to deliver so many and that 1 or 2 might die in the process anyway, so they recommend selective reduction to increase the chances of all.
> Euthanasia - Terri Schiavo was just the tip of the iceberg. Since her execution hospices have been killing people across America like flies. We were lucky enough to save Andrea Clark before her execution in Texas, but many more haven't and won't live.
> Baby body parts from abortions have been sold on the open market. How can an abortion not be the killing of a human being when the abortion results in the sale of an eyeball or a liver?

I believe an oversight board that keeps tabs on moral issues needs to be established in government, one that helps maintain a set of rules that define what it means to be human. Our representatives in government have lost their moral compass. They put their fingers up to see which way the election wind blows while putting out their palms to organizations who will finance their next election.

I thought Democrats were the party of the little guy? I thought they were the ones who were supposed to protest en masse, defending those who can't defend themselves. Maybe they were hijacked, but now they are the party of death, supporting legislation which kills human beings. If we're not careful, the Republican party will join them.

Definition of folly from dictionary.com:

- A lack of good sense, understanding, or foresight.
- An act or instance of foolishness: regretted the follies of his youth.
- A costly undertaking having an absurd or ruinous outcome.
follies (used with a sing. or pl. verb) An elaborate theatrical revue consisting of music, dance, and skits.

Obsolete.
Perilously or criminally foolish action.
Evil; wickedness.
Lewdness; lasciviousness.

It's interesting to note what is now obsolete. Isn't that an example of redefining morality? Let's not let the same thing happen with our government. Help us challenge the culture of death and join our effort to end abortion in America. We unite once a month on the first Friday to call, email and/or picket to let our representatives know we want them to stop abortion and human research. On the first Saturday following the first Friday we go to abortion mills to pray for the women and the children that they will kill. Many turn away when they realize what they are going to do.

Even if all you do is call and/or email on the first Friday, that's good enough. The unborn need you to speak for them.

Call your representatives over the next week. They are debating whether or not to use living human beings for scientific research. Embryonic stem cell research is wrong and we need to let them know how we feel. Go to monthlycallforlife.com for more information on how to contact them and for what more you can do.

If you don't do it who will?

Stem cell does not involve killing a life unless you think that a fertilized egg can become a life on a friggin petri dish (definitely NOT a woman's womb). And it can save over 100 million people, too! I think supporting stem cell would be very pro-life.

The Nazis would love you

Hypotheticly, if you or one of your loved ones, spouse, child, ect were suffering from some terrible disease. a treatment for it is found for it that will allow them to live a pain free full life. the moral dilema for you, it was found through embryonic stell cell research. do you keep your morality and die, or watch your loved one suffer, or do you use the treatment?

There is no moral dilema, why would you support killing someone else so that you could live? The Nazis did that remember? Do you support their actions?
