On Wednesday, April 26th, pro-life women from across the nation will come together in the nation's capitol and urge their legislators to protect innocent life at all stages. Sponsored by several pro-life groups, women will use this opportunity to speak with their Senators about current legislation, on issues such as embryonic stem cell research, banning human cloning and the Child Custody Protection Act.
"The abortion lobby continues to peddle the myth that they represent most women, despite the fact that poll after poll shows that Americans - including women - are more pro-life than pro-abortion," stated Karen Cross, political director for the National Right to Life Committee. "Now is the time for women to make their voices heard- now is the time to speak out against the radical pro-abortion lobby."
The schedule for Wednesday, April 26th will begin with a 9:00 a.m. training breakfast that will prepare attendees on the specifics of lobbying. The breakfast will be followed by actual meetings with United States Senators to lobby crucial pro-life issues. The day will conclude with a reception for the women lobbyists, leaders of the sponsoring groups, and invited pro-life members of Congress.
"These issues are of vital importance to the pro-life movement and they represent real change and real lives being saved and protected," urged Cross. "If you are unable to be with us in Washington for this event, I ask you to register with us in spirit and NRLC will help you contact your Senators by phone, email and fax on April 26th."
Whether attending the session in Washington or joining in spirit, women are asked to register in advance. To register and get updated information, visit the NRLC website, www.nrlc.org, and click on the "REAL Women's Voices" button or call NRLC at 202-626-8838.
