In yet another wielding of the pen, Governor Napolitano vetoed a bill prohibiting the sale of human eggs.House Bill 2142 would have banned the sale of human eggs during a time when human egg brokers are offering college women tens of thousands of dollars for their eggs. Oftentimes, the process for extracting human eggs can be a very painful and risky medical procedure that could cause a stroke or heart attack.
Representative Bob Stump (R-9) sponsored the bill and became the primary legislative expert and spokesman not only in Arizona but across the country. Representative Stump was successful in bringing tremendous attention to this issue as a special guest on C-SPAN and Fox News' Your World with Neil Cavuto.
