"More sympathy than most liberals"

That is what E.J. Dionne Jr. from the Washington Post says he has.

Here is the entire quote from his article:

I have more sympathy than most liberals with the right-to-life movement because I believe most right-to-lifers are animated not by sexism or some punitive attitude toward sexuality but by a genuine desire to defend the defenseless. Surely that view should encompass efforts to reduce the number of abortions in our nation. That's why I hope Tom Suozzi finds imitators, and allies on both sides of the question.

How swell it is that there are people like Suozzi who wants to "reduce the number of abortions in our nation". Why reduce? If abortions are not wrong and if they are legal anyway, why go through the trouble of reducing them? If they save us money and make society better, wouldn't we want to increase them?

I am going to lead my response to his article with what this all comes down to.

They are losing and they want to make a deal.

What are they willing to concede in this deal? They are willing to "allow" us to provide abstinence only education. Yep, that's it. They will "let" us teach our children in our schools and churches that sex before marraige should be avoided. What are they asking in return? They want us to stop challenging Roe vs Wade. They want us to end our demand that abortion be made illegal. They want us to allow sex education, condom distribution, morning after pill distribution and birth control distribution to our 13 year old daughters, without our permission. They want us to allow our 13 year old daughters to have abortions without our permission.

Oh, I didn't mention that they want to provide some money for the women who have had their sex education training & then had children because of those lessons and failed contraception. Like that's a new thing. Around the country Pro-Life groups and individuals already provide health services, pre-natal care, post-natal care and financial support for women who "choose" to keep their children.

The article is called "Bridging the Divide on Abortion". It is written from the position of those who do not care what abortion really is, namely the murder of an innocent human being. He brings in the argument by Democrat Thomas R. Suozzi that we can create "a better world where there are fewer unplanned pregnancies, and where women who face unplanned pregnancies receive greater support and where men take more responsibility for their actions".

Sounds like the "better way" Kennedy speech which was parroted by the Democrat from Virginia, Timothy Kaine, in his response to President Bush's speech two weeks ago.

Dionne says:

"Last week Suozzi put money behind his words. He announced nearly $1 million in county government grants to groups ranging from Planned Parenthood to Catholic Charities for an array of programs -- adoption and housing, sex education, and abstinence promotion -- to reduce unwanted pregnancies and to help pregnant women who want to bring their children into the world. Suozzi calls his initiative "Common Sense for the Common Good" and, as Newsday reported, he was joined at his news conference by people at both ends of the abortion debate."

Not once is there a quote by a Pro-Life group or individual.

I used to think that those who were for abortion really didn't know what abortion was. I thought they had just fallen for the "clump of cells" speech & didn't know that abortion kills people. Over the years I have learned that they know exactly what abortion is and they have no problem with it. As a matter of fact, most pro-aborts nowadays will state plainly that it is a woman's right to choose what to do with her body, and if she wants to kill her child who is living inside of her, that is her choice to make. Think about the arguments that pro-aborts make which prove their acknowledgement of human life in the womb.

> Overpopulation - of what, rats? --- Human beings
> Too expensive - what is? raising a child of course costs money. -- Human beings
> Inconvenient - having to care for children does take time & that Bahamas vacation won't be as much fun with a rug rat at your feet -- Human beings
> Birth defects -- Human beings
> Woman's right to choose - choose what? -- Human beings

The last one is the only one you have to use in a debate with a pro-abort. When they say "woman's right to choose" just keep asking them "choose what, what is the choice?". Eventually they will concede the life or death of the person in the womb is what they are referring to, and at that point you will realize you are speaking with someone who advocates killing a human being.

MarchTogether For Life

I believe up until recently Pro-Life people wanted pro-aborts to be naive or stupid. I believe we wanted them to not really understand what abortion was so that when they had their revelation, they would turn to us and say "you're right, abortion is wrong!". Unfortunately we are learning that many or most pro-aborts know exactly what abortion is and they are fine with it.

President Bush is as squishy on the abortion issue as a jelly donut. He won't stand in front of hundreds of thousands of March for Life folks but he'll call in to express his support of us wanting to help the unborn. He's like most politicians when it comes to this issue, a scared rabbit. So many politicians today will proclaim their Pro-Life status but will never push for ending abortion completely. Politicians believe that we have to find a middle-ground. They believe that the abortion issue is like debating global warming and that you can never get everything you want so you should settle with what you can get.

Don't get mad at me for pointing out that our politicians who we voted for aren't really Pro-Life when it comes down to the legality of it. If President Bush were Pro-Life he would stand in front of the world and say:

"Abortion is murder and I am going to do everything in my power to end it. I will put Pro-Life representatives in the Supreme Court and they will overturn this evil and help me make abortion illegal, the way it should be".

Pro-Life people should not play the political dance. Abortion has killed almost 50 million people in this country because our politicians won't defend the unborn!

33 years and 50 million dead. It's time for us to demand an end to abortion regardless of who is in office and regardless of political promises.

Life is not negotiable and never will be.

There is no deal when it comes to abortion. It is wrong and it kills thousands of innocent human beings a day. You read this article by E. J. Dionne Jr. and you might think that he, like so many pro-aborts today, are ready to meet in the middle. There is no middle. Even a little bit of legal abortion kills human beings.

So often people compare abortion to prohibition, saying that we couldn't stop people from drinking booze & we won't stop them from having abortions. The difference is, abortions kill human beings, lots of them. Would people still have abortions after it is made a crime like it should be? Probably. Does that mean it shouldn't be a crime to kill a human being in the womb? No. Should it be a crime to kill a human being outside the womb because they aren't wanted, are too expensive or are defective? Ask Adolph Hitler about that.

Pro-aborts are starting to realize they are losing and they are panicking. We in the Pro-Life movement have a position of strength that they will never have, we believe that an unborn person has a right to live whereas they believe that a woman has a right to kill her unborn child for a myriad of circumstances.

Not only must Roe vs Wade be overthrown, it must not be turned back to the states. Roe vs Wade is not wrong because it took away the ability of the states to decide on this issue. Roe vs Wade is wrong because it legitimized the murder of the most innocent in America, the unborn. Roe must be overthrown and the innocent, unborn children of America must be protected from those who wish to take their lives.

This is not just a legal issue. This is a human issue. We must teach our children to embrace a culture of life, not death. Do you want your child hovering over you when you are sick, telling the doctor to pull your breathing tubes or other life saving equipment because it's time for you to go? I was in the hospital for a long time once. Three months. I would not have lived without the precious blood and care that they gave me. Thank God there were people around who wanted to save my life, not take it.

The culture of death tries to exterminate those who are not perfect. Down syndrome? Kill her. Birth defects? Kill her. Too expensive? Kill her. Inconvenient? Kill her.

Where do you stand? Should we make deals with those who are for abortion or should we stand on our principles? Let us know by writing to howifeel@marchtogether.com and give us your opinion.

Abortion is not a political issue, it is a life or death issue and over 3,000 are dying every day to prove it. There is no middle ground. We must stop the daily slaughter of innocent human beings. It is up to you and me to speak out against this horror. It's time to stop being passive, we must be vocal and make our presence known. I'm not advocating violence or hatred toward pro-aborts. I'm challenging everyone out there who knows abortion is wrong to join us in the Monthly Call for Life at MarchTogether.com. Help us speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. Help us speak for the defenseless, the helpless, the unborn. They do not have a voice & aren't able to march for themselves. They need you and me to do more than pray or write. They need us to call, email and/or march.

Remember, half of the one million who are aborted every year are women. So much for women's rights.
