California turned down Prop. 73 this week. Prop. 73 was meant to allow parents to receive notification if their child is going to have an abortion.
3,475,891 of you have voted to remain ignorant on one of the most important "choices" your child will ever make.
This is an issue that isn't "liberal" or "conservative", it is a parental issue. For those of you who voted against Prop. 73 your ignorance will haunt you when you find out years later that Planned Parenthood convinced your daughter to have an abortion without your knowledge.
Prop. 73 wasn't a parental "permission slip" for your children to have an abortion, it was meant for you to be notified if your children are going to have an abortion. There was even a clause in there for possible rape or incest victims, but I guess that wasn't good enough.
Should the California Constitution be amended to require notification of the parent or legal guardian of an unemancipated, pregnant minor at least 48 hours before performing an abortion on the minor?
A NO vote on this measure means: Minors would continue to receive abortion services to the same extent as adults. Physicians performing abortions for minors would not be subject to notification requirements.

In California, if your daughter is under 18: She can't get a flu shot, she can't go on a school trip, she can't have a tooth pulled, she can't get her ears pierced, without your knowing it.But an older boyfriend or school employee can take your 13-year-old daughter to an abortionist who can perform a SURGICAL or CHEMICAL ABORTION upon her without your knowing it.
If you ask me, it's time for decent citizens of California to bail out to a neighboring state who believes that parental rights trump those of Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood is the biggest legal death organization in the world and they are funded by taxpayer money, death (abortion) and private donations to the tune of almost 1 billion dollars a year. Their money machine went into action to confuse and misinform voters.
Why should Planned Parenthood be allowed to finance advertisements which convince you, the taxpayer who pays their electric bill, that it is better for you not to know that your daughter is going to kill her child?
Quote from Planned Parenthood Golden Gate:
Proposition 73, an initiative on the November 8th special election ballot, endangers the health and safety of California teens. It would amend the state constitution to require health care providers to notify the parents of young women under the age of 18 before providing abortion services.
Planned Parenthood kills your grandchildren and they run ads saying that notifying you of their actions "endangers" our children?
800 calls to Planned Parenthood clinics showed they will conceal statutory rape, when an underage girl has sex with a man over the age of 18, the majority of the time so that they can cover up their deeds.
A recent study of over 46,000 pregnancies of school-age girls in California found that over two-thirds were impregnated by adults.
There are 3,475,891 of you in California who have serious issues and should seek counseling. Your children are being molested and impregnated by adults and you don't want to know?
I salute the other 3,135,895 of you who voted for notification and pray that you unite others in your state to stand up against the insanity of those who believe that ignorance is bliss.

Just curious...
What exactly are you thinking the benefit of parental notification would be? Shaming unwed teen mothers into giving birth? Parents preventing a teen from having an abortion?
You actually think you can convince people that it's okay to coerce someone into having a full term pregnancy against their will? You're f****d up.
As I stated in my article, 2/3 of the 46,000 pregnant underage girls in California were impregnated by adult men.
If underage girls continue to have abortions without the police or the parents being notified, the abuse will continue. If the adult men can't be responsible and stop molesting underage girls then throw them in jail. I'm sure the underage girl pregnancy rate will slow down then.
The choice is sex, not abortion. Pregnancy is not a desease that you catch.
I'm curious as to why you didn't mention the part of this initiative where it proposes to amend the constitution to redefine what abortion is: from termination of a pregnancy to causing the death of an unborn child.
You state that "3,475,891 of you have voted to remain ignorant..This is a.... parental issue."
While I wholeheartedly agree that abortion does cause the death of an unborn child and therefore wish that no one would ever choose to have an abortion no matter what the circumstances of the conception, I believe the proponents of this issue and supporters like you are dishonest with voters when you claim that this clause wasn't the main reason for putting this initiative on the ballot.
It's the dishonesty with which you and the proponents approach this constitutional amendment that drove me to vote no, not ignorance or misinformation.
Besides, if you raised a child who is so easily led astray as to be coerced into having an abortion by Planned Parenthood then you really effed up on being a parent. Get real with the voters, have an honest dialogue about abortion without name-calling, religion or half-truths and maybe this country can finally stop defining it as a woman's 'right to choose'...but as long as kooks like you are in charge of this conversation, we'll get nowhere.
Peace.
It seems silly to have the say the words "cause the death of an unborn child" when we refer to an abortion. People who say "termination of a pregnancy" pretend that we are just stopping some sort of mechanical process.
The reason we have to put laws in place is because of nonsensical arguments like "I'm not killing a child, I'm terminating a pregnancy".
It is simple - Abortion is the intentional killing of a human being, and that is murder. Nobody today argues whether or not a PERSON is killed by abortion, the argument has become the necessity of the act. Anyone who tells their children that it is necessary to kill children in the womb because of population control or because of finances needs counseling.
Peter, I must apologize. I had seriously underestimated you. You are, in fact, a genius. I wholeheartedly agree that "3,135,895 of you who voted for notification" should "bail out to a neighboring state."
That is the best suggestion EVER.
Rent here in Cali is INSANE so if all you nutjobs left, the rent would be so much nicer for me. Plus the state's collective IQ would surely skyrocket. (In case you didn't get it, I am implying here that you pro-lifers are not as smart as the rest of us - i was worried you might not catch the insult if I didn't point it out)
Plus if you all left, we here in Cali could build a huge wall all around our state to make sure you couldn't get back in. "The Free Republic of California" - has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? You guys go on being the 49 States of America, we'll go be happy. We won't miss you.
