A few of my pro-life friends are tentatively taking a position against President Bush's current Supreme Court nominee, Samuel Alito, because three of four abortion rulings he has made during his tenure as a circuit court judge were anti-life.
I'm not. I support Judge Samuel Alito's nomination to the Supreme Court.
Along with Tim's spotlight the other day of Judie Brown's thoughts on Alito, here are a couple other columns to consider:
"Why Alito's the man for the true conservative agenda," by John Hinderaker and Paul Mirengoff, November 6, 2005, Washington Post
"How do we know Alito would overturn Roe?," by Joseph D'Agostino, November 7, 2005, Human Events
All three columns may be read in their entirety on my blog.

Mr. Alito has ruled against the unborn in 3 of his 4 rulings.
In the fourth he left exceptions that virtually void the ruling. His ruling got thrown out in the end.
He is not pro life and if you would read legislation passed by George Bush you will find he is not pro life as well. This is the time for conservatives to stand up and read legislation and then to tell Congress to say no to Alito or we will say no to them next election.
President Bush passed a bogus ban on partial birth abortion and the amendments make it a lie.
The Durbin Amendment that was approved in committee and then voted on by Congress makes the procedure easier for doctors to do and it seals public record.
They also affirmed Roe VS Wade with amendment 260 to S3 of 2003, and even Kay Hutchison voted in favor of Roe VS Wade. You may read it at the Library Of Congress using Thomas to search.
Now Texas governor Rick Perry has pulled the wool over Texans eyes in pretending to reverse the deadly bill George Bush signed (1999 SB 30) that takes away parental rights regarding abortions on underage Texas children.
Perry affirmed the deadly bill instead of changing it as he claimed to have done.
Please read TX SB 30 of 1999 and its amendments as well as the little lying blurb in SB 419 (79)R, in which Rick Perry makes fools of every citizen of Texas who believed he tells the truth.
They lie and Alito is no more "Catholic" than Ted Kennedy or John Kerry.
Alito is the Sr. Bush chosen one (Sr. Bush put him on the TX bench in the first place and is choosing him guy now) and he also chose Justice Souter who is also not pro life.
Please tell Congress "NO" and to give us a prolife justice for this most critical swing vote.
If people don't wake up and realize Alito is not pro-life it could well be another 35 years until there is a chance to end abortion once and for all.
Kindly look up "Live Baby Organ Harvesting" on the www if you want to know the real reason abortion is legal today. A woman who used to own and operate several TX abortion clinics told me about this. They cut babies down the back and rip out their vital organs to kill them in partial birth...not in the methods talked about on TV by the Senate...when they pretended to outlaw the deadly procedure. They really made it easier for doctors to do without informing the woman how they are killing the baby and at any stage of pregnancy and to top it off they seal public records on the procedures, just like Texas seals public records on abortions done on underage children.
And yes TX politicians and your own US Congress and their president Bush laugh all the way to the bank along with the attorneys who get to do all that "sealing of records" and laugh all the way to the bank with their great big attorneys fees that we the taxpayers must pay for.

Thank you very much for my voice crying out in the darkness of babies slaughter. Maybe if I could get it heard some more we can end the lies and deception by Congress and end abortion as well.
