After Hurricane Katrina shattered the lives of millions of people in the South, abortion advocates offered them morning after pills and free abortions instead of food, shelter or money to rebuild. Now, that Hurricane Rita has struck, an Arkansas abortion facility says it will again perform free abortions. - LifeNews.com
"This just adds to the devastation these women already have in their lives," Arkansas Right to Life executive director Rose Mimms told The Associated Press. "Some have lost family members. They all have lost property for sure. Taking the lives of unborn children who are survivors of the hurricane is the wrong response."
Despite protests from pro-life critics, Little Rock Family Planning clinic director Dr. Jerry Edwards said he has already performed six free abortions. The clinic usually charges between $525 and $600 for a first-trimester abortion.
Edwards' offer is a reflection of the culture of death that views the sovereign control and murder of unborn babies as a foundation of civilization and whose tender mercies are cruel.
The tragic story is so twisted that many pro-life bloggers are at a loss for words while others comment briefly:
Evangelical Underground - "Free Murder: Sometimes when I go to post something, I just can’t bring myself to comment on the topic. This is one of those times."
JivinJehoshaphat - "Free abortions in Arkansas"
My View of the World - "Sigh"
PowerBlog - "Oh the acts of compassion we see......"
Okie on the LAM - "Yeah — This sure makes sense — Just pile more death on top of death!"
Doxology - "Nothing like capitalizing on a tragedy, even if there's no money changing hands."
Do I sense a little sarcasm from the American Princess? "How kind of them, solving this woman’s problems ..."
March Together for Life - "... the child pays the ultimate price on the spot, whereas the woman who has the abortion will pay for it in the long run."
And Rightly So! - "Talk about taking advantage of women who may be extremely stressed out right about now ..."
