Pro-Life Campaign Exposes the Truth About Abortion

"Americans have been lied to about abortion," said Joseph M. Scheidler, National Director of the Pro-Life Action League. "Rhetoric about 'choice' and 'blobs of tissue' hide what abortion does to its unborn victims. We will be out there for two weeks exposing the truth about abortion to our fellow citizens."

"Every time a Truth Tour takes place, lives are saved," said Scheidler. "When people face what abortion does to a baby, they are horrified. They don't want to be responsible for the mutilation of their own child. Human life is our most precious gift."

During last year's Tour, hundreds of thousands of Chicago area residents saw signs held by over a hundred pro-life volunteers. Counter-demonstrators were present at several locations. A Naperville man who expressed his disapproval by throwing objects at the peaceful demonstrators was arrested. Many passers-by spontaneously joined the Tour. Scheduled abortions were cancelled.

Though some object to the use of graphic abortion pictures, Scheidler points out that, as with tragedies often reported in the news, it is best for Americans to face the truth, however disturbing it is. "Every year more than a million unborn babies are killed by abortion in the United States. It is our duty as Americans to teach the truth about abortion and rid our country of this tragedy."

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the demonstrations will take place in downtown Chicago. On Saturday, July 9th, the Tour will head to the northwest suburbs. Next week, from Tuesday through Saturday, the Tour will be held in Rockford, Chicago's south side, and the north and west suburbs. A detailed itinerary can be found here.
