Scott Ott writes, "Autopsy: Schiavo Not Abused, Just Dehydrated". Scott's satirical point is right on. Unfortunately, the autopsy results, as reported in the mainstream press, are likely to cause some to conclude that the decision to kill Terri Schiavo via dehydration/starvation was justified.
Premature Terminal Delivery quotes an under reported excerpt from the Washinton Post:
But what caused her collapse 15 years earlier remained a mystery. The autopsy and post-mortem investigation found no proof that she had an eating disorder, as was suspected at the time, Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner Jon Thogmartin said.Open Book notes a contradiction:
Headline on this story: "Schiavo did not starve to death."A Certain Slant of Light asks, "HOW CAN "MANNER OF DEATH" BE UNDETERMINED?"Later in the text: She died of "marked dehydration,"
Broken Masterpieces writes, "It still came down to death by starving and dehydration.".
A_SDF apologizs to the Florida press before concluding, "I still believe killing Terri was wrong. It was not based upon sound reasoning, nor sound facts. "
Conservative Conala writes, "Schiavo Autopsy Shows No Abuse, But It's Not an Excuse."
BlogsforLife notes that "Irreversible doesn't mean dead!"
Daily Inklings remains skeptical.
The Original Musings concludes, "To my way of thinking, the autopsy has proven nothing more than that Terri didn't have to die when she did -- and shouldn't have had to die the way she did."
Justice for Terri Schiavo quotes the following report, "The attorney for Terri Schiavo's parents says they continue to believe their daughter was not in a persistent vegetative state, despite the results of an autopsy released Wednesday."
