Next time it will be easier. It always is. The tolerance of early-term abortion made it possible to tolerate partial-birth abortion, and to give advanced thinkers a hearing when they advocate outright infanticide. Letting the courts decide such life-and-death issues made it possible for us to let them decide others, made it seem somehow wrong for anyone to stand in their way. Now they are helping to snuff out the minimally conscious. Who's next?

My Thoughts
Poor Terri Sciavo starved of life’s sustenance, to bring about her premature death, by the order of America’s judicial system. The courts evidence was that Terri in passing conversation to her Husband, and Brother-in-law did state that she would not want to be kept alive artificially.
Michael Shciavo conveniently forgot Terri’s wishes until that is he had just won a settlement on behalf of Terri, were he stated under oath that he would use the money to get Terri the best treatment available. However he immediately on receiving the settlement had a D N R put on her chart, and even going as far as not to allow medical staff to treat Terri for an infection she contracted.
Michael Shciavo also started to date another woman and when he was ready to move in with this person who herself owned a dog. He took it upon him self to have Terri’s two cats euthanized, this would be the beginning of one mans quest to rid him self of what he saw as a heavy burden his Wife Terri of five years.
In 1995, Michael Shciavo moved in with another woman who he would later father two children, three years later he would start his battle with Terri’s parents to have Terri’s life ended by denying her food and water on 3 occasions. How cruel can one man be? Did he think for one second that his wife Terri would possibly put her parents and siblings through that suffering; I really find that hard to believe.
Michael Shciavo had found a new life and happiness, could he not have done the right and honourable thing and given up his right to Terri so that she could continue to be loved and looked after by her loving parents and family.
The answer is no! it comes to mind did Michael Shciavo want to cause Terri’s family pain, my guess is yes he had the power to destroy a living being who they loved more than life itself, it probably became an obsession with him to hurt them as much as possible. In the end, he did destroy them by allowing their lovely daughter Terri to die in a most cruel way right before their very eyes.
Can you imagine being a mother and not being able to save your child? Knowing that this is your baby going through this horrible ordeal and there is nothing you can do but stand there and wait and hope for some miracle to happen, a miracle that would stop this barbaric torture of your first-born child before your eyes.
My heart aches so much for Mary Schindler and I pray that she and the rest of Terri’s family can soon find peace.
The Peace that the Schindler’s so deserve will not come for a long time, Michael Shciavo will see to that.
Allready he as dictated their daughter’s death, earlier this morning with Terri’s death imminent he dictated who would be with Terri whilst she took her last breath. In addition, Michael Shciavo will further dictate Terri’s funeral he will have Terri cremated and ashes buried in Pennsylvania in Sciavo family plot... He as also expressed that he does not want any of Terri’s family at the funeral causing pain beyond rational behaviour of a man who professes to have loved Terri. Michael Shciavo through Felos uses the words peace, dignity does he really know the meaning of those words.
Michael Shciavo as done all this with venom in his heart, not love for his wife who he remembers telling him casually in conversation that she would not want to be kept alive artificially. Incidentally, a feeding tube does not constitute artificial means of living. If he had allowed Terri the therapy he promised on oath in a court of law, Ironically Terri would not be dead now, because Terri would have been fed orally, and Michael Shciavo would not have been able to ask a Judge to condemn his wife to a painfully undignified death.
All that is left for me to say is that I find it hard to believe that in the 20th century a judicial system can condemn a woman to starve, and thirst to death without first having some sort of trial. What happened to beyond a reasonable doubt, this certainly was not afforded to Terri, Judge Greer, Michael Shciavo, and George Felos acted as Judge and Jury and commited Terri to 14 days of a torturouse death without food, and water. I hope Michael Shciavo is happy now, Terri’s life ended he can now go make millions of dollars in film and book rights, oh yes and live happily ever after with his live in lover and two kids. Unlike the Schindler’s they have just watched a nightmare unfold before there eyes and there pain no words can describe.
I pray that they will be comforted by the fact that Terri is in a much better place and that Michael Shciavo can no longer hurt Terri, and when there time comes to leave this earth they will be reunited with Terri, never to be parted again.
I've been pre-occupied these last several days with what has happened to Terri Schiavo. Though it was confusing, my gut feeling kept telling me....this is wrong...this is wrong....SURELY SOMEONE WILL STOP THIS. I am a Florida resident and I see license plates in our state that bear the logo "Choose Life" and I think....what a contradiction. I also know that Florida has laws that are in place that tell mothers that have had a child that if you must abandon them, take them to a fire station, a police station, a hospital and there will be no repercussions as long as you are giving the babies a chance at life.......yet we give the Florida judges the authority to take the young life of Terri Schiavo away because she has to take her nourishment via a feeding tube and is not perfect? Would they have done the same thing if an abandoned baby had the same conditions? WHAT A CONTRADICTION!! Just because she married Michael Schiavo didn't make her any less the Schindlers child, sister, niece. Can you imagine the profound pain this family had to endure not even being afforded the last few moments with their precious one? Who is this guy (so called husband) that would not allow Terri's rehab, withold antibiotics and place a "do not resuscitate" on her chart the minute HER insurance award was in HIS hands. Which by the way, was at the 7 year mark after her injury and when the Statute of Limitations ran out. Was he seen as wise and deprived by this judge that he gave him free reign to eliminate her off the face of the earth when there was a loving family waiting to take care of her? Some people have claimed that this was all about money. Maybe to Mr. Schiavo it was but not to Terri's family. They wanted her money to go for her rehabilitation, whatever it would take to give her the best chance at living. He didn't bargain for a "hell of a fight" from the family and most of the money would be eaten up by attorney's fees. Can you blame them? He wasn't going to spend it on her, that's a cinch. The judge couldn't see this? This is cruelty beyond words. I've never been so affected by anything like this before and have a passion to do something to change it. Who lives and who dies and by whose standards has to be investigated and revised for the good "of the people, by the people, for the people". If the Judiciary branch of our government is its' own entity and governs themselves, then there is something very wrong with that. They are not immune to accountability, they just can't be. They should be governed by whatever means necessary to get it RIGHT!! Congress tried to help that happen. I do give them credit for that....however much people protest.....I get it...I get it that it was for a very specific reason........not an across the board decision for all American citizens. They did the right thing trying to save this womans life but to no avail. Instead, the Judiciary branch stuck their noses in the air and had to show everyone....you don't tell US what to do....at the expense of this family!! It's distressing to think they could do that to anyones family when family is supposed to be the American ideal and it is LEGAL!? Someone out there with the knowledge, please steer us to the appropriate channels so they can hear us.....loud and clearly.....THIS IS WRONG AND CANNOT EVER HAPPEN AGAIN! To the Schindler family, I am profoundly sorry you've had to endure this very painful horrendous experience. God be with you always. Terri was truly blessed to have you as her family.
We discussed Euthanasia in class today (Paref Woodrose School Philippines) and my classmates presented ms. Terris case. I must say that i am outraged at what her husband did! How dare he allow his beloved die? It really pissed me off since when I saw the video clipping, She was ALIVE! She tried her best in trying to recover by fighting for her life ( I saw the part when she was asked to open her eyes and she did). She wanted to live!!! Then he allowed her to starve???? WHAT THE HECK!!!! I thought it is when you're loved one is suffering when you have to be there for them the most!! She was alive! I am so disappointed in him and even if I don't know ms Terri, i will pray for her repose. I may be on the other side of the world, being in the Philippines but I know that everyone has the right to live and only god can take that life from them.
