It is truly sad that the parents of Terri Shiavo seem to have been left with no right to protect their daughter's life from someone who she married in her youth, but who no longer seems (if he ever did) to hold her life in any regard whatsoever. It would appear that despite the fact that Michael Shiavo has depleted much of the resources that Terri had on this ridiculous battle over whether or not to starve her, that in his own misguided mind, that he has chosen to starve Terri so that he can be free to pursue his life with his girlfriend and children with whatever money is left from Terri's estate once Terri has gone on to her Eternal Reward. The fact that her parents, who cooperated with Almighty God in bringing Terri into this world seem to have been left with no rights is utterly shocking, and should be most disturbing to today's parents of "designer" babies and children who would like to control every aspect of their childrens' destinies. Perhaps Michael Shiavo, himself a parent, should shudder at this propsect of being absolutely powerless to protect an adult child who has perhaps made a very foolish marriage choice indeed!
